An Exceptional Physician -- Truly Rare in Today's Healthcare System... I don't write reviews often, but Dr. Brandon E. Cohen (Dermatologist) @ the Cedars Sinai Dermatology Dept in their West LA and Beverly Hills dermatology offices has earned one of the highest recommendations I can possibly give. In an era where medical care often feels rushed, transactional, or impersonal, Dr. Cohen is a genuine outlier -- a physician who treats patients with genuine concern, not just cases to move through on a schedule. From my very first visit, it was clear this wasn't going to be a typical dermatology appointment. Dr. Cohen took the time to really listen -- not just to my immediate skin concerns, but to my broader health history and lifestyle. He asked thoughtful questions I hadn't been asked by other doctors, and it was obvious he was building a complete picture of my skin health rather than just addressing symptoms on the surface. What sets him apart most is his follow-through. He doesn't just treat you and send you on your way -- he actually follows up. I can always count on hearing from him after my visits or procedures to check how I was healing. That level of continuity of care is something I've rarely, if ever, experienced with a physician. His attention to detail is remarkable. He notices things other doctors might overlook, and he explains his reasoning clearly -- I always leave an appointment understanding not just what he's doing, but why. He never makes me feel rushed, even when I know his schedule must be packed. Beyond the clinical skill, his bedside manner is genuinely warm. He's patient, reassuring, and treats every concern -- big or small -- as worth taking seriously. It's clear he cares about outcomes, not just appointments. On top of that, all of his PA's, nurse associates, and even front desk folks all work together like a smooth symphony of excellence. Kudos to their entire team. If you're looking for a dermatologist who combines top-tier clinical expertise with real, sustained care for your well-being, I can't recommend Dr. Brandon E. Cohen highly enough. He is, without exaggeration, the ideal of what a wonderful dermatologist/physician should be. George Leon read more

I've been coming to Cedars Dermatology for a couple of years and have had pretty good experiences - they always take care of my issues which is the most important part. Each time I've come I've had different Dermatologists see me and all have been good at treating me. I recently saw Dr. Cohen and was happy with the quick identification and same day treatment/minor surgery he was able to perform. However, I took off a few stars because: 1) I had to get stitches recently and when I came back a few weeks later for removal they actually missed taking one out. It was on my head so I understand how it was difficult to see under hair but it ended up coming out weeks later by itself 2) The booking time to get an appointment can be pretty far out and getting in same day/week is not going to happen. If you have an emergency you'll need to find another place or go to urgent care 3) Parking is difficult on the street and they do not validate for any nearby garages read more

New Being professional is something that all doctors do to keep their clients. I had some stain on my face. Asked for the best doctor in the office. The receptionist recommended Dr. BACH. It took almost three to four months for a visit. Routing nurse coming and getting your blood pressure and temperature which has nothing to do with my stains. Of course insurance billing. He spent about 93 seconds with me. He told me the stains were not active now. HELLO. it is very visible. He didn't come close to me to see my stains. Do I have covid? Out of the 93 seconds he was in the room, about 25 seconds he was mumbling about what he is recommending. Next the nurse comes in with a piece of paper. I was asked to leave. I was in a such shock I turned back when I was by elevator. What is this piece of paper? Prescription? The receptionist had no idea. His nurse was called. He gave me a face wash. It has been a month I have been washing my face with it. Guess What? It got worse. Small stains by my mouth are everywhere now. Stay away from this doctor. I am sure he needs more money and cant wast time to actually do his job right. read more

I love Dr Truong! I was having skin issues for years and after seeing her, it's completely resolved. She's so kind, knowledgeable, and really advocates for her patients. She explains things thoroughly, and makes me feel comfortable. She's great! read more

If you go here you will be disappointed. You will wait months for an appointment, then wait an hour or two after your appointment to be seen, then told to come back for whatever treatment is necessary, then likely rescheduled & never treated. And if you are treated it's likely it won't have any effect. Throw your money in the toilet & flush. It's at least quicker. read more

Here is a warning about my bad experience with Cedar Sinai Dermatology on 99 La Cienega. Not only does it take months to get an appointment, but when you finally get there, they don't want to do anything, or actually admit that they don't know how to do it and you end up wasting your time & don't get anything done. I went for Botox for Hyperhidrosis ( excessive sweating) hot flashes, on the face & the Derm didn't know where to inject. They ended up denying the service claiming it was cosmetic which has nothing to do with sweating! I had another appointment today for something different and it was the same bad experience with my time wasted and no services provided. I had called the day before & explained that I wanted to get services & didn't come just to talk, yet that's what happened again and not only did they refuse to do anything, they wanted to charge me for writing a simple prescription! Crazy! How greedy can you be? read more

They should have their license taken. They made up a charge for a service they didn't render or perhaps rendered to someone else and billed me. Instead of fixing their mistake they doubled down, leaving me to have fun with the billing department for years. They know they made a mistake but refused to amend it because it would make them look like what they are - sloppy. Furthermore, they don't take care of they need to remove a lesion of any kind. They don't care what it looks like. Your problem, not theirs. Don't put your health or outward appearance in the hands of sloppy people who don't care. read more

The team is super super great! Always so so caring!! Special shout out to Dr Brandon Cohen, Dr Susan Rabizadeh, Dr Allison Truong and Dr Joyce Fox who has been caring for me as their patient and I am absolutely grateful!! Thankfully haven't need to see Dr Gharavi but I heard he's great!! Thank you to all the Dermatology team!! read more

*The A+ Derma Team* Dr Gharavi is a very busy man but that doesn't mean he's not a great Dr and cares about all his patients. In fact, he called me in the evening following my (morning) surgical procedure, to check in & make sure I was doing okay because he knew I'd be dealing with some pain. I prefer all my Dr's to be affiliated with Cedars Sinai. I initially was seen by Dr Brandon Cohen located in one of their other offices. He was incredibly kind and caring with an outstanding bedside manner. And we communicated almost daily via email for two weeks with his aftercare followup efforts. Dr Cohen then referred me to Dr Gharavi to perform a surgical procedure that Dr Cohen doesn't do and when I found out that Dr G is one of the head's of Cedars Sinai Dermatology Dept, I checked him out, read lots of reviews on Cedars Sinai's website (from actual patients) and knew I'd be in great & gentle hands. I was extremely impressed with the entire team at Dr G's office & the CS Dept of Dermatology. They even contacted ME to schedule the appointment, before I could call them. That's rather unheard of in my experiences with Dr's offices - usually I can't even get them to call me back or answer their phones without being forced to leave a voice message. Marisol in their office is so sweet & helpful and has been there & here for me via phone (she even gave me her direct #) and also very timely email responses. Dr G's Fellow Physician, Dr Juhasz, is truly amazing and she's who actually performed my surgical procedure while Dr G stood by her side making sure everything went smoothly. In addition, Dr J has been there & here for me every step of the away via email with extremely detailed responses and genuine concern for my aftercare, recovery and well-being. Yes, on the day of my surgical procedure they were running behind and I had to wait 45 minutes to an hour "for a room fo open up" agonizing what I was about to endure. But that's why they call us patients...so I remained calm & patient. Again, Dr G is a very busy man but he's very kind and has an amazing team to assist him. Lastly, parking: they do validate for procedures but not for followup nurse visits so be sure to plain accordingly. There is a large parking structure within the building. But if it's only for a quick visit, I prefer to park on the street in front, feed the meter and save time & money. read more

I went them back in 2017 and was told I have an eczema which I've never had prior. I've never grew up with any skin issues. I first saw a PA and after I saw two different MDs there. They all prescribed me steroid creams and I was on topical steroid cream to treat rash and never got better, instead it was slowly getting worse. I've got 1lb jar of steroid cream each time of visit. On the label indicated to use twice a day. They weren't specify how much to use or how long I can use for. So I kept using it and my skin was getting worse. I was on topical steroid cream for 4 years and developed TSW ( Topical Steroid Withdraw) I was not supposed to use steroid cream for such a long time period cause it can cause serious side effect which happened to me. Many medical people do not recognize this symptoms and still diagnose it as an eczema and keep prescribing topical steroid cream. I stopped using cream 17 months ago and slowly getting better. TSW is worse than having rash. It is a horrible side effect from prescription steroid use. Dr should know about this and shouldn't be treating their patients with steroid for such a long time period. I hope they will update and upkeep with a new information and education of treatment and side effect of prescription drug. So that patients don't have to go through a unnecessary pain. read more

They refuse to tell patients if they take their insurance!! So you have to risk going there and then receiving a giant bill from them after the fact. Wow - this is not only unethical but also illegal. How can you not tell patients if you accept insurance? This is literally insane!! read more

Unwelcoming and rude front office staff. I was rescheduled twice and waited months to see the dr. And was canceled on my way in as I sat in traffic because I was going to be a few minutes late. Since my teenage and into my adult years, my acne has been my biggest nemesis. For far too long I have let it dictate the way I live my life. I've even gone as far as cancelling plans because of it. Sometimes I'll spend too much time trying to make my acne better but in turn make it worse. PEOPLE, If you can relate, go to Dr. Aivaz. Why? Because Dr. Aivaz is the first dermatologist that could tell I was obviously embarrassed about my skin and was super understanding and empathetic. I usually get a lecture at the dermatologist for touching my skin then leave feeling like sh*t. For once I didn't feel defeated, I actually felt like she really cared and wanted to help me get to the root of the problem. Idk why so many people are hating on Cedars. Sure they are more expensive than other places however, you get what you pay for. An unbiased opinion that is not dictated with a need to sell extra treatment. Seems to me they truly have you're best interest in mind. If you need a dermatologist..Go to Cedars and Go see Dr. Aivaz. *drops mic* read more

I feel bad writing a negative review about a doctor visit during/following Covid, but we are all trying to do what's right for our health and when you can't see a doctor, that's a problem. I made an appointment to see Dr. Aivaz 2 months ago. Today was my appointment date. I arrived 5 minutes early, which is 20 minutes before the appointment time (they ask you arrive 15 minutes early, I assume because they want you to value their time - totally fair). After 35 minutes, I kindly asked for an update ("We're waiting for a room to open up."). After 45 minutes, they called my name and escorted me into a room and told me to remove my clothes and put on a gown. ("The doctor will see you in 15-20 minutes"). So ... it would have been more than an hour from my arrival time. I had a very important meeting that I was terrified of being late to, so I left. They didn't apologize, offer another doctor, any creative solutions, or even explain why the doctor was an hour late. I got a strong vibe that this was a very normal experience for their patients. I guess that's why they call us that :-) I'll admit that I'm sensitive to people wasting my time (lateness, etc.), but this goes beyond. This went way past an annoying 15-minute wait. An hour is just straight up disrespectful. Especially without a single apology. read more

My FIRST time in this office and I was made to feel incredibly uncomfortable and disrespected. Here's what happened at a CEDARS SINAI office: I was running 7 mins late to my appt., so I decided to call twice. No one answered. I left a message. I was also calling to ask about parking because I had not been provided with this information. I parked at a restaurant nearby to quickly check-in and then move my car. I explained all this to the front desk assistant. He wanted to check and see if the Nurse Practitioner would still be willing to see me. He came back with a good and joyful report: she said yes! The assistant encouraged me to move my car. I did and came back. They had already called my name and so I was going to have to wait a bit longer. I completely understood and watched IG stories to kill time. But here's the real Tea: I get called in by Francine. Very quickly I assessed her body language and tone. She appeared annoyed, displeased, hangry(?)... While she performed my intake she interrupted me several times. The last time she interrupted me with: "I WANT YOU TO KNOW you were 20 mins late to your appointment!" Umm, WUT?!, I thought. I asked her to please step out. Not TODAY Francine! read more

Well, I see negative reviews but my experience here is has been great. No problems with anything, even parking! Excellent experience!

While the doctors in this office are professional and have a decent bedside manner, the office and nursing staff has been a nightmare to work with. From having a medical assistant refuse to book me on completely false medical information, to numerous failures to schedule me after making an appointment, to gaslighting next about whether or not I even had a cyst (I did), this office has been one of the worst medical experiences I have ever had. It's surprising and deeply disappointing. I could not recommend someone else more. read more

I've dealt with acne for 10+ years at this point; however, have been dealing with an ongoing matter surrounding in grown hairs, etc. I've been on the hunt for a new, consistent dermatologist to hopefully resolve the ongoing matter. I found Dr. Daniel Bach through research online and decided to give him a try. We met for approximately 10 - 15 minutes in person and he gave me a few prescriptions, which most I had already had in the past, as part of my new regimen. Please note, there was no procedure or surgery that took place in this visit. This was my first time visiting the office as a new patient. A month later, for the consultation, I received a bill for $400.00 USD+. This was striking to me because I planned to visit an A-List dermatologist who quoted the same amount for a consultation, without insurance. While I understand I had not met my deductible yet, the billing office stated on the bill that we met for 45 - 60 minutes, which is not true. After continuing to dig with billing team, based on how the bill was coded, the doctors office labeled it as a chronic condition which was news to me. While I am sure other patients have had successful visits, I am feeling somewhat scammed as a first time patient to receive a bill for $400.00 USD, with insurance, for a 10 - 15 minute skin consultation. I've had several dermatologists' in previous years and I have never paid that amount for a consultation. I'd fully understand if a medical procedure or further examination took place; however, this was absolutely not the case. Furthermore, I am truly disappointed in the lack of eagerness from their office and Cedars Sinai billing to resolve this issue in a feasible manner. read more

My experience has always been positive coming here and seeing Dr. Aivaz. She is the most knowledgable dermatologist I have ever met. She explains the procedure from start to finish; making the visit very comforting. I have seen Dr. Aivaz several times and have always left the visit very happy. Most importantly, I have an extreme phobia to needles. Knowing that, she has a very easy touch to injections that makes it stress free/pain free. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Aivaz. You will leave the office with a lot more knowledge and very satisfied. read more

Best. Dermatologist. Ever! Dr Obioha is extremely smart, friendly, and super easy to talk to. I highly recommend her!

After reading the reviews, admittedly, I was a bit nervous to come here. However, I must admit that my experience was very positive. When I called to schedule an appointment, the receptionist offered me an appointment the following week. Since I wasn't available that day, I took an appointment that was 3 weeks away. When I arrived for my appointment, it was a smooth check-in process. I was taken in at my scheduled appointment time to see Dr. Ohara Aivaz. The wait time was more than ideal (about 20 minutes), but oh well. Dr. Aivaz had good bedside manner, listened to the reasons that brought me into see her, provided recommendations for managing my skin situation. She also advised that I get a biopsy on a mole (this was not something I was expecting to have done). The procedure was quick, and she was great and explaining what she was doing. Obviously, experiences can be hit or miss. Fortunately, I had a positive experience and would definitely return, if needed. read more

this place makes me want to change medical groups to UCLA. It is open season right now, so I may change this month. I just need to find a pcp at UCLA. I like my pcp at cedars but I hate the dermatologist department. I came to this office after a surgery because of a terrible skin allergy. They treated me like crap as a customer and patient. I felt like I was yelled at in the office (in front of employees and patients) by the biller Sarah for asking a billing question. I told her not to yell. However, she continued to be condescending. Omgoodness. Compassion aka bedside manner along with a ethics course 101 might help. Oh yeah and the doc I saw that day, no bedside manners. I have seen a different doctor in the past at this derm office and she appeared to have bedside manners, but not this one. read more

BEWARE Dr. Allison Truong is not worth the hassle of the billing department. I wish I would have looked into what others before me have stated. The billing department here is an absolute NIGHTMARE. I checked the codes (provided by her office) before getting a procedure multiple times AND had my insurance check as well. Her office verified it was a clerical error on their part and apologized for my catastrophic bill. I had good documentation and receipts as well. Her billing department continually told me they would address it but every time I called back it never got anywhere. I even got a direct line last week to avoid the hours I'd spent waiting just to check on something her office verified they would address. Now, their phone number AND direct line isn't active anymore and I have never heard back via email or the app. Just spare yourself the excess mistaken bills and go anywhere else!!!
