Deplorable service. Walked in around 1:45PM and waited a few minutes at the hostess station until a server hurriedly passed by us and asked if we had a reservation. Mind you the restaurant was almost empty inside. finally seated (our choice of tables) and again waited for anyone to come over to our table in an empty restaurant. We noticed a gathering of servers pointing and looking at us I guess who would take our order. A male waiter came by and immediately asked if we were ready to order. Seriously, now you're in a rush? Another long wait and we started to get up and leave when our first course of soup was served. To say we were frustrated at this point is putting it mildly. Basically my soup was barely warm and my wife's chicken soup was tasteless. It's been years since I have ever seen my wife add salt to her food like today. Main large sandwiches received. My Swarma was stuffed with plenty of meat but too much fatty (grissel) meat portions. My wife's sandwich was OK, she even left over to take home. We never again seen our waiter, no water refills or asking if we enjoy our food. We were left to signal another server for our check. She could not understand why our service has ignored us? Visited Cedar's Mediterranean after a couple of close friends recommended the restaurant. My family and I are big fans of mediterranean cuisine. Anything that is Greek, Lebanese, Turkish, you name it, we want to try. I wasn't 100% sure which Cedar's is but they had all the classics you'd want to enjoy when seeking out this type of cuisine. We visited on a Friday evening just before Christmas and I was surprised the place wasn't busy at all. After we were promptly seated we noticed a wedding party arriving into the heated patio area, so private events as such are available here. For our meal we started out with the hummus and some warm pita bread. The hummus was fantastic, and a pretty good portion for 4 people. The lentil soup wasn't my favorite. I like to enjoy my lentil soup more with a puree texture. This one was brothy with the lentils whole. However, it did have a good flavor, just not my favorite texture. The Shish Kebab was awesome. I requested it to be cooked medium and it was served perfectly with some steamed rice (would've preferred rice pilaf) and some broccoli, peppers and onion. I did like the veggie medley that was served with the entree. For dessert we couldn't decide so we ordered the baklava and knafe. They were both delicious but my favorite was the baklava! You really can't go wrong with baklava. If you're looking to try something different, this is worth checking out. They have a nice family friendly environment. read more

I ordered 2 appetizers to take home and received 4 small pieces of bread to go with it. I asked if I could have more bread and stated that I would be happy to pay extra for it. The person waiting on me asked how many pieces would I like and I said 8. He hesitated and then said okay. At that point the owner of the restaurant walked by and said one word "seven" and kept going. Again, this was AFTER I OFFERED TO PAY FOR MORE BREAD. In the past, this type of order would come with more bread than you could possibly eat. I had to buy more pita bread at the grocery store for our meal. We wanted to try several appetizers, because frankly, all of them seemed interesting, so i asked about the 'lebanese feast' which had 7 appetizers for 29 dollars, but instead got talked into 4 for 6.50 each...i thought she was cutting me a break, but ended up getting charged 31 dollars for the 4....try the 'lebanese feast'. also, ask for the garlic sauce, it was not suggested, but we've frequented enough lebanese restaurants to know that they all serve it. We've always enjoyed eating here when we're on this side of town (the tourist area). They have a vegetarian-friendly menu and their falafel tastes amazing. Even though the appetizers we've ordered on every visit have consistently been good, they are a bit pricey considering the ingredients. Four small cheese rolls (spiced cheese wrapped in egg roll wrapper) the size of my index finger were good, but not worth $8. Service is always top-notch, especially if you have Lumna/Lubna (sp?) waiting on your table. Only weird gripe is they serve Pepsi products. I noticed that Sprite was listed as an ingredient on their cocktails menu, but Sprite is a Coke product. Maybe they should reprint their drink menu to switch out the Sprite for Sierra Mist, so we die-hard Coke fans don't get confused as to why our soft drinks taste gross. read more

Food was great, our server was awesome (don't remember his name) however I had to give the restaurant 1 star. When I got there with my parents I had to go to the restroom. None of the bathroom stalls had toilet paper so I went to tell one of the servers to put some toilet paper in the women's restroom. When he told one of the lady servers she literally ignored him and told him "oh well sucks to be her then". I was in my table and heard her say this! No one ever put any toilet paper. Before leaving, my mom wanted to use the restroom and noticed still no paper! So I went to tell the rude server that said the terrible comment "hey my mom would like to use the restroom can someone put some paper in the stalls?" She said "oh no one has put any?" I've had really good experiences here before, but maybe it was before I discovered I was gluten intolerant. The menu's not marked and the server's information was incorrect. My chicken kabob plate came with pita on top. Not a problem for me because I just gave it to my husband, but a real problem if you have Celiac or a wheat allergy. Sloppy mistakes like this always make me worry that something else in the dish has wheat and the server just didn't remember or know. My chicken was delicious and everyone else in our party enjoyed their meal. My vegetables were a little overcooked and smothered in butter...which didn't strike me as cuisine accurate, a little olive oil and some herbs would have been better. The portions are large, so consider sharing. I love the pickled turnips. I wish they'd brought more of those. read more

We made a reservation a few days ago. Of course, to have a good time with family and friends. When we arrived, they took our order. Everything was good till then. But when we received the food, the taste of it was disgusting. I mean, the grapes with rice and meat were very bad. The worst thing was that at the end of the night when we asked for the check we were really confused because the total amount wasn't the one that has to be. They charged us for the double of the total check. When we tried to tell the manager (I think he was the manager cause he was the one leading the shift) about it, he totally said that it was what we order. Of course, we did not. Stopped in to take a break from Christmas shopping hoping for a seat at the bar, an appetizer, and a couple of drinks on a weekday late afternoon. They don't have seating at their bar so we grabbed one of their outdoor tables. We got the Black Cherry Barrel and the Tennessee Peach to drink as well as their hummus and falafel appetizers. The drinks were a little small for the price ($9.50 for maybe 8 oz) but they were absolutely delicious and packed a punch. I stumbled upon this place as an out-of-towner and the service was amazeballs! These guys were on top of everything, friendly, and fast. I had a baked kibbee and a side of hummus. The kibbee was just a little bit dry, but that may be just me being used to the local kibbee. There was also so much that I couldn't eat it... I probably downed between 1/2 and 2/3 and was satisfied. The yogurt salad that came with it tasted incredible; it had a perfect texture and the veggies in it were obviously fresh. I ordered a side of hummus as I'm used to that coming with my entree and, while I'm glad I did, it proved to be too much food. The hummus was more traditional instead of soupy like many places, but they provide olive oil if you prefer to adjust the consistency. Finally, the bread... oh my God... the bread. It's like a perfect puffy pita bread that is delivered warm to your table. I'm still having dreams about the bread. I sat near the wood oven and smelled the fresh pita loaves... mmmmm. Everything was memorably good. This place is a perfect candidate for Robert Irvine to take on for Restaurant Impossible!!! Yuck. Seriously. Don't bother. The food was terrible. This is the furthest thing from "fine dining" that I can imagine, and I can't even believe they are still in business. They serve FROZEN VEGGIES with your $30 entree. (Really??) The bread baskets are grey and fuzzy around the edges from being dirty. The salt shakers were so caked up with moisture inside that we had to unscrew the cap to get any salt. To be fair, lamb kabobs were okay as far as taste goes, but all of the meat was overcooked and tough (had ordered the combo trio of skewers). The bread was hot and fresh and tasty enough - I'll give credit where credit is due. The bathrooms were sub-par and there are drill holes punched in on all the walls of the partitions. There were no paper towels in the handicap bathroom so I had to go to the main sink to get any to dry my hands. Again, fine dining? Really? The server was nice enough, but when we asked for recommendations she said that everything was good, and what do we like? Chicken? Seafood? Spicy? When my husband said he liked spicy food, she proceeded to tell him that nothing on their menu is spicy. Um. Okay. So why even mention that as an option? There were only two other couples in there on a Sunday at around 5:00. I would be surprised if this place was in business next time we make our way to Orlando. Very dissapointed. Waste of our time and money. There are too many other good ethnic restaurants in the Dr. Phillips/Sand Lake Rd area to settle for this kind of sub-par overpriced experience. read more

Helen was our "server"...but she was not interested in helping us. Multiple times we had to leave our table to track her down to get refills / sauces / napkins, whatever. The food was just ok, sub-par actually, compared to other middle eastern - Mediterranean food. Any time you tried to seek understanding about an item by comparing it with Greek / Turkish / whatever, Helen would get all huffy and remind you that this place is Lebanese. Whatever lady...just because you change ONE letter in the name of the dish doesn't make it different. On the ticket it asked for feedback about the food, server, etc...and we answered honestly - food was 3 of 5, and server was 1 of 5. As we left we saw Helen showing off her bad score to other servers and laughing. The really sad part? She's not just a server...she's the owners daughter or girlfriend or something.
