Chicken and waffles
Renee F.

Cedars Corner is a nice addition to downtown Fairfield, I'm glad I was finally able to stop by. I love a bar that has good drinks and fried food to soak them up, it's usually a winning combination. I visited solo and never felt uncomfortable. I was able to pull out my Kindle and get some reading in while I enjoyed a few drinks and waited for my food. Note: noise doesn't bother me when I read, this is a bar so don't expect a low volume level. Other patrons chatted with me and shared their favorite menu items. Apparently the Caesar salad is good, but they were sold out for the day so I'll try it next time. The fried chicken that I had wasn't as salted/seasoned as I like, but it was fried well. I'd order it again. There are flavor options that you can get your chicken tossed in, but I ordered chicken and waffles so I opted for regular fried whole wings. I like to cover my wings with hot sauce and a drizzle of syrup when I'm eating that combo. Their syrup was good. That sounds random, but some places have watered down runny syrup. In my opinion they were understaffed, but I feel like they did great at acknowledging customers and letting people know they'd be with them shortly. The service that I received was good, no complaints. I def plan to stop by again when I'm in the area. The food is cooked to order so keep that in mind.

Had to go to FF for a few Christmas items. Looked for a place for lunch. Chose Cedars Corner because of the fish'n chips reviews. Nice place clean. Greeted right away. Ordered 2 piece catfish and chips. It came out piping hot! Great cook in the fish. Crispy outside and really moist inside. Fries were crispy like I like them. Good luck, Yelp doesn't disappoint.

1st the servers/bartenders were AMAZING!!!! Super friendly and attentive, both of them. Order drinks and food all came in hot and delicious. Music high enough to hear but not enough to keep my conversation going. Crowd was respectful and cool to see some locals hang out and see how close the community is. One thing, it is a little pricey for my liking, was in my opinion pricey for 2 with one drink each and food, BUT as visitor and non local I didn't mind it.

Went for happy hour and enjoyed $6 hibiscus margaritas! Wasn't a big fan of the tacos on taco Tuesday BUT the fish nuggets and chips and mango habanero wings were so so good. There was only one young lady working the bar and serving food but she rocked it. I would definitely go back!

First impression.. Super clean establishment! Unisex bathrooms were spotless! (We always go to bathroom first after seating lol!) Very modern interior.. came in sometime after 5pm and it's self seating and server was quick to assist us for drinks and food. They were patient with us and help provided recommendations as it was our party of 3 first time there. We ordered: avocado toast, wagyu and gyro burgers. Man.. all came with crispy fries! Yum. Flavor of the burgers was delicious and good size too! It didn't disappoint for sure. Drinks: We got the watermelon and lychee martini. Sweet and you can't really taste the alcohol which make it delicious and dangerous lol! They had a super cute IG worthy backdrop in a private room that you can book for events which is neat! Only thing is people do smoke cigar out in the patio and we can smell it but if you don't mind the cigar smell or maybe be seated further away from the door it should be fine. Overall, I would definitely come back if I was in the area!

Last night was my first time at Cedars Corner Bar & Kitchen, and it was such a great experience! We were hosting a small Friendsgiving and I arrived early. The location is on the smaller side, but they have a cozy "back room" that can comfortably seat about 11 people -- a table for 8 plus 3 side chairs with mini tables. There's a huge glass window that looks out to the street and a beautiful floral wall with their bar name lit up in lights. I asked if we could use the room for our group and the staff kindly said yes. While I waited, I ordered a Watermelon Breeze -- delicious! Once everyone arrived, we settled in, ordered drinks and appetizers, and everything was amazing. The hush puppies were incredible, and I tried a green tea shot for the first time -- so good! It was everyone's first time here and we're all locals, so it was nice finding a new spot we actually enjoyed together. The bar area on the other side looks perfect for date night or even just coming in solo. Great music, great vibe, and great service from the bartender/servers. Overall, we had a wonderful time and hop will definitely be back!

Food: I ordered the chicken strips and waffle. My husband had the fish and chips made with cod. The chicken strips were hot fresh and a solid 8/.5/10. The waffle tasted really good but could have been hotter. My husband's fish and chips had a good taste but was rather greasy. I'd give an 8/10 overall for the food especially since it's really a cute little bar with some quick and easy dishes. Ambiance: The place is cute and modern. With seating both indoors and outside. They even have a small side room they can serve guest or a group of friends could reserve Service: The service was good. It was a small crew of three but the really worked hard to try and give good service Parking: Parking is limited but not to bad if willing to walk a block Overall: Cute little spot to grab a drink and some good quick food. The portions were decent for the price.

This spot is in a prime location right on the corner, downtown Fairfield. The inside is well lit with large screen TVs behind the full bar. I ordered an espresso martini that was perfection. To eat, I had the 3pc fish combo with fries. They give you a choice of catfish, sole or cod. I chose 2 pieces of catfish and one piece of cod with salt and vinegar fries. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. The portions are so large, I was only able to eat one piece of catfish and some fries, and took the rest to go. They also have chicken wings, salads, burgers and appetizers on the menu. This is a cool and casual place to catch up with friends or catch a game with solid food and excellent drinks.

Wagyu Cheeseburger/Fried Codfish/French Fries/Strawberry Margarita

We stopped by Cedars Corner Bar & Kitchen for a local dinner in Fairfield, CA. This establishment has been here one year as of July 13, 2025. We ordered a few dishes: Wagyu Cheeseburger & (2) Fried Codfish with 6 pieces of large chicken wings, and French Fries. The food was very good especially fried codfish, my spouse ate the majority of the codfish with a big smile. The fried chicken wings were not over cooked or greasy, just very tasty. The Wagyu Cheeseburger was very good. Their serving of food was too much for us, so we brought the majority of our dinner home. My spouse enjoyed her good Strawberry Margarita, and I had ice cold water. :) Brittany the waitress was very attentive ensuring we did not need anything. In fact, she suggested that we order different meals, then we could try multiple dishes. We are giving them an overall rating of 5 Stars "*****"

Fairfield needs bars like this! I actually stopped by on a whim for a nightcap and ended up staying for a couple hours making conversation. A lively addition to the city! Expresso martini was delish & the portion size of food was great. I hear the catfish is amazing so it's on my list. I enjoyed the toffee cake too.

Mexican cigars
Genesis A.

This place was super cool... Glad it wasn't packed. The drink was perfect. I tried the Mexican cigars, which were good, but I wish they had more of a cheese stick texture versus a smooth texture--but they had delicious flavor. The music was good, too. Overall, it's an excellent place to chill. The only thing I wasn't sold on was the cigar smell, but honestly, I was okay and enjoyed my time there.

Cedars has become one of my go to spots! I would definitely consider myself a regular now! I love walking in and being warmly greeted by all the staff! Everyone is so kind and attentive! And the food? Absolutely delicious. I've even started ordering Togo orders just for dinner. I'll for be a faithful regular! Such a great vibe! Great music great ambiance and great people!

Calamari
Lea M.

There is room for improvement * Date night was the week that cedars bar and grilled opened and we knew not to expect too much. The service was great with the exception of our server being distracted mid order by another employee. We ordered drinks while we meandered through the menu and decided on the calamari and 2 piece cat fish along with their three piece chicken tenders. The catfish came out first and it took a while for the chicken tenders to come out. I think our waitress forgot about the calamari order so we needed to remind her but when it came out it tasted fresh. Minus .5 on forgetting the calamari Minus .5 on how everything was seasoned the same. The calamari was accompanied by either ranch tartar sauce which was the same as the catfish so hopefully down the line they'll have their own aioli sauce for the calamari. Otherwise I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The music was the vibe and the service was great. Can't wait to see them iron out the issues because I will certainly be back!

Super personable, great energy, and made the whole experience feel effortless. I ordered the peanut butter and jelly burger--smash-style patty with bacon, peanut butter, jelly, Tabasco, and pickles--and wow... one of the most unique and satisfying burgers I've had in a long time. It hits that perfect balance of savory, sweet, and nostalgic. I asked Paul what he would pair with it, and he absolutely nailed it. He introduced me to "Chimp My Ride" from Solano Brewing Company, a rich stout with chocolate and peanut butter notes that complemented the burger perfectly. It honestly brought back that childhood lunchbox feeling in the best way possible. On top of that, Chef Jamie personally brought out the food and took the time to connect--great conversation, great presence, and you can tell there's real pride behind what they're doing here. The vibe, the style, the food, and the people all come together here. Easy five stars. I'll definitely be back.

Definitely would order again. The brewery also has a stage for live entertainment and a few pinball machines. The brewery is located in a strip mall with plenty of shops and restaurants. We…read morevisited this place for the first time as part of a birthday party (but it was actually a cover for the birthday celebrant to propose to his girlfriend -- teehee -- which he did, on the second-floor balcony, and our group got to watch and cheer from the ground). It was a cold afternoon/evening in December, but we dressed warmly and stayed by the firepit. There were maybe 4-6 other clusters of people there also, and definitely another birthday party going on because the guests were singing along loudly to a special request playlist that the staff played on the speaker for them. I thought it was a good number of people considering how cold and dark it got. Our group brought a bunch of kids, and they pretty much explored the grounds the whole time -- feeding the animals, making friends with other kids, and having a blast. Food from the food truck was fine, just be careful leaving your food out unattended because some random dog gobbled our burger when we weren't looking. It's a beautiful spot. We should all be so grateful for having access to it, basically for free. Drinks were good. Good vibes. Super relaxing to be out in nature. Friendly staff. As of this review, you can reserve areas for parties/events for free, and you can bring in your own food and drinks, excluding alcohol, of course, since they are a brewery. I'm sure it gets crazy busy during the warmer months, but it is worth a visit even in the cold. Just dress right.

Though near the 80, Ruhstaller Farm is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. There's no conspicuous signage. It's easily possible to drive right by & never know what's here. & yet, the few times I've been here, generally later on a Friday or Saturday night, it's obvious that Ruhstaller Farm is the busiest place for many miles around in any direction. It's somewhat puzzling to me. Add in the idyllic bucolic vibes, & this place feels is a bit surreal to me. There's something about the frolicking farm ambiance here that reminds me of the Aliki Farms skit from the 1st episode Portlandia.* So how do I know about Ruhstaller Farm? A friend I homebrewed with for years lives in Dixon. Being beer nerds enough to brew it ourselves, we'd stumbled across Ruhstaller beers a long time ago. That early stuff was rough. The beers pouring now at Ruhstaller Farm are definitely a drastic improvement. The bar staff has always been friendly. & really, this is a nice place to relax & enjoy a beer. But that's it. I'll come through once in a while & have a beer or 2. I'm not staying. While it's a good distance outside of town, it's still close enough to be someplace to go around Vacaville that's more interesting than the town's repetitive corporate chain dining & big box retail. It's a great spot to grab some quality brews. There's plenty of parking. There's inviting spaces, both indoor & outdoor, for sitting & relaxing a while. The outdoor area is quite expansive.
