We always enjoy dinning here. They have a nice selection but it can get noisy. I like almost everything on the menu.

Came out to play on a Saturday and I have to say it is a pretty nice course (at least the 11 holes we played). Got through front 9 in about 2.5 hours but really started to slow on last couple holes. We made the turn and it turned excruciatingly slow as it took us 45 minutes to play just 2 holes (10 & 11). Had we stayed, it likely would have been well over 3 hours to finish the back 9. There was a tournament in front of us and we saw the marshall at least 3 times but there was absolutely no impact on the pace of play. It was a complete waste of $93!!! Played Sunland the day before ($69 for 18 holes and cart) and much better experience. Not as nice of a course as Dungeness but at least pace of play was manageable and was still a pretty nice course. We had a drink and snack in the bar (I think it was called Stymies) and we enjoyed ourselves. The appetizers were very good (wings and steamers) and my only advice is get extra bread with steamers as the clam broth was very, very good. Cold beer, good drinks and good view of both UofW football game and Ryder Cup golf. Stymies would actually get a much higher rating from our group but since this is a review of Dungeness GC and Stymies, the golf experience really dragged it down. Regretted paying so much and only playing 11 holes but the pace was absolutely one of the worst I've ever experienced. read more

Not sure how the golf course is but the food is terrible. We had food from here at the crab festival in port Angeles and it was some of the worst food I've ever had. We had crab poutine. They used crappy fries with lukewarm sausage country gravy (yes sausage gravy) and about 1 tbsp of cold crab. Gross. Also had the crab grilled cheese. One slice of crappy cheese not even melted a little like they did not even pretend to try to grill it. I have no idea why they are serving food like this And I think it is really rude to charge people 20 dollars per item and give them this garbage. People work hard for their money and I'm down to spend it on good food but not on this. Not only will I never go back to the crab festival but I will also never go eat at the the restaurant at the golf course which I have been wanting to try. Now I know they have terrible food and won't bother! read more

I really enjoyed playing this course. It is a beautiful course. It is very affordable considering the quality of the course. The largest issue I had with this course was how slow play was. We barely made it through 9 in 3 hours because the course was overbooked. The coolest thing about this course is that the course has golf boards. We drove out from Tacoma to try the golf boards. It was so much fun. I was impressed with the staff and the course. Everyone was very helpful. The entire faculty is well taken care of. I wish it was as busy. Maybe play it during a week day because weekends are packed!!! read more

The Good: Nicely maintained course with good breadth and depth of holes. Stymie's bar is a great place to watch sports especially football. Only place on peninsula that has NFL ticket! The Bad: You should eat before you go because the food is not much better then dive grub. I was shock and disappointed to hear that they use frozen salmon instead of simply getting the freshest fish from their own tribes members! Their servers are nonexistent most of the time; either in the break room or talking to the bartender. The only great service came from the young manager and latina waitress, otherwise you best pour your own drinks. Outcome: Will play there on occasion and definitely be drinking and watching football on Sundays. It will never be a destination for a bite to eat. read more

The restaurant is fantastic. We are probably there twice a week. So I thought I would bring a friend that wanted to get into golf to the course. I live in a country club and am quite familiar with the game. So I took my friend to their pro shop. I was so embarrassed when we walked out, I apologized for them. What a bunch of God given, my ...... don't stink. We asked for clubs for my friend, and was told, we can't sell these yet, so was asked, do you have any used / demo clubs that can be tried out by a beginner, as my friend is. The young man behind the counter laughed and said, ha, we are a real golf course, you can try the course down the road. I was shocked, the elderly lady in gray hair also behind the counter laughed. This guy is so disrespectful and the old lady thinks it's funny. We just walked out. These two I would fire on the spot. So we took our business down the road as suggested. The other course was fun, nice, and we had a great time and made some new friends. read more

We had dinner at Stymie's at the Dungeness golf course on a recent Friday night. We both had fish, salmon and halibut, both meals were great. There appeared to be many local diners seated throughout the restaurant. Stymie's seems to have the same menu as the adjacent dining room, The Double Eagle, but Stymie's was much more casual. read more

First off the course is 1st rate- always has been!!! One of the high lights of my foursomes summer golf rounds. Have been going here for over a decade. (All of us happily travel at least 2 hours one way.) HOWEVER, last Saturday was different. Halfway up the 6th fairway several people chasing soccer balls flew out in front of us as we were teeing off. As my buddy's tee shot narrowly missed an oblivious person running out into the middle of the fairway all of our hearts dropped. Of course we all yelled "FORE" at the top of our lungs. He looked back at us without a clue. Yes this was our first exposure to "Foot Golf". We immediately called the pro-shop to inform them that our round had just ground to a halt and that we were very concerned about hitting these people who had come out of nowhere to occupy our fairway. The elderly blond haired gentleman at the pro-shop who had pleasantly checked us in early in the day now informed us (in not so friendly terms) that we had to make sure we didn't hit into them and that we were to stay behind them. After explaining that "our' fairway was being overrun by people and balls that up to this point were NOT there, he asked me what hole we were on. THEN he realized that his Foot Golf patrons had NOT been properly informed/trained on the rules. He said he would send someone out to get things in order. We were informed later that this did happen although none of my foursome saw any ranger. Unfortunately, while we were waiting for the fairway to clear (on the same hole) two of our foursome were addressing their balls when two more soccer balls went between them followed by two players yelling not to touch their balls. (Apparently, in Foot Golf it acceptable to hit through the group in front of you.) After finally reaching the next hole, we were forced to hold up on the tee box as a different group (the third one we had encountered) was kicking from the left side of the fairway (behind trees) directly into the center of our fairway about 180 - 200 yards out. How they got there we still don't know. At this point the foursome (of regular golfers) originally behind us who also got caught up in the mess got a little hot and one of the carts drove over to this new group of Foot golfers and exchanged words. Apparently they got the point across and the Foot Golfers held up long enough for us to clear. The delay cost us at least 30-40 minutes and didn't help any of our games if you know what I mean!!!! At the end of the round we felt morally obliged to let the pro-shop know that they had a dangerous situation on their hands and that someone could have easily been seriously hurt. Unfortunately, even-though the two elderly gentlemen at the club house, (likely the manger and aforementioned pro-shop attendant) said all the right words like: "we really appreciate you letting us know". We all got the feeling that they really didn't care. We felt like we were being given the cold shoulder and that they just wanted us to leave. They certainly didn't fully understand how unsafe the situation truly was. Not to mention they showed "zero" empathy for the "regular golfers" that had to endure the shock of nearly hitting a person. It was absolutely the most terrifying moments any of my foursome have ever experienced on a golf course. Hitting a tee shot straight down the middle only to see a ball and a person run directly into its path is extremely unnerving to say the least. On the way home we all agreed that Dungeness is a great golf course but the management might be a little (or a lot) out of touch with the possible negative ramifications of mixing "Regular Golf" with "Foot Golf". On a brighter note: Ten years ago at Dungeness my same foursome was rained out half way through our round.(We did get thru the front nine.) Not only did they reimburse us for that days full round but they also gave us a rain check for another full round - cart included for both!!!!! Now that was outstanding customer service!!!!!!! Unfortunately, I can't comment positively about Saturday's customer service. read more

Lovely golf course out on the northern section of the Olympic Peninsula. A step up from the typical small town muni with very good conditioning and a good variety of easy, hard and picturesque holes. The greens are the star of the show here. Very challenging greens complexes with lots of undulation and quicker speed than you'd expect. A number of quality tree-lined holes with some elevation changes throughout. The wind also plays a big factor in the difficulty of the holes. Typical to see calmer conditions in the morning and the wind picking up in the afternoon. Most of the bigger name, higher quality golf courses are on the southern part of the peninsula, but Cedars is well worth your time and money if you're looking for some quality golf. Booked a tee time on the course web site - $49 for golf, cart, range balls and a burger. Can't forget to mention that the burger at Stymie's was outstanding (not a throwaway offer) and had a nice deck overlooking the course. Would love to play and visit the place again in the future. read more

Gave this place another try,view from corner real nice,too little staff and at least 1/2 hr to get drinks.Had to beg for bread as our meal took so long. Crab Louie was pretty fair ,menu stated fresh crab but it had been frozen ,my husbands steak was very good.Four of us at our table and no one was real pleased with in attentive service and the entrées weren't exceptional. read more

The wagyu steaks were cooked exactly as ordered. The service staff was a bit spotty. Clearing the used plates would have been a nice touch. The martini took too long to arrive. The wine price point was good. The awesome steaks made up for some shortcomings. We made quite a few birthday comments as we were there for a special occasion but they did not pick up on this. read more

The course was not up to it's usual high standard in early March. Greens have a fungus that's not good for putting...looks like the greens are slowly dying off. I was playing in a 3 day tournament, with almost 90 players and the greens crew never changed the cups for all three days...WTF ....The greens are bad and not change the cups?...very LAME. Hope they make some changes there...It's not like they don't have the $$$ from the casino. read more

I've played all over Washington, and this is my favorite all around course. There are other courses that have more spectacular views, and more challenging holes, but this is the best golf for your money in the state. Greens are always immaculate , and the entire staff is amazing. Views of the Olympic Mts are great as well. read more

Very picturesque, well maintained with reasonable rates. Not overly challenging so good for all levels. No drink cart but water and facilities available through out course. The one huge negative for me was that there was no Marshall. Multiple groups of men (even 5 to a group) and they played very slowly, used foul language when us women were on the tee boxes, and on the greens and clogged up several holes on the back 9 so the pace of play was very slow. Not sure because of this if I can recommend the course or would play again. read more

Double Eagle dining room. Waitstaff friendly and attentive. We had a fairly large table-full and the waitress handled us expertly. We we're all very pleased with the quality of the food and the prices were more than reasonable. Drinks were well made and again very reasonable-- five bucks for a glass of wine seems to be unheard of in a "nice" restaurant. This is a place we would be pleased to bring out of town guests. My golfmates and I play here about every four or five weeks, driving up to Sequim from Kitsap County, as we usually get good weather, year around. We played again on Sunday 11-7-10. This course has always been a favorite, and it has only gotten better since the tribal folks bought it. The course is always in great shape, is challenging for all levels of players and has some of the best conditioned greens of any course in Western Washington. The remodeled clubhouse which includes the pro shop and a great restaurant and bar is a treasure. The grill menu includes a miso cod sandwich that is spectacular, and sweet potato fries that are great! The staff of all areas are courteous and helpful and a credit to good management. Don't miss this place whether to golf or eat!! read more

The recently remodeled Stymie's Grill is a great place to go for just a drink or the full meal deal. They have nightly specials during the week or you can choose from their menu-either way you get a great meal - always something special. Anywhere you look there is a television screen, so if you are there to watch a sporting event, you won't miss out. read more

The place has nice atmosphere. Waiters are not ever present but certainly enough. I see people criticizing the wait crew, but give them a break! You're in Sequim! If you want high end and higher pricing, try....well let's see, ....where can you try...oh yes, there is a place on Cedar St., in town that will give you what you want. For us, this place is a great down home, relaxed atmosphere but has much more than this area's diners (!). The food is fine. They don't mind cooking and changing things to your liking. Like I say, ease up a little, give up the high end attitude and sit down and relax awhile. It's one of the better places to dine in our area. read more
