Freshly arrived as a tourist fro. San Diego I decided to get a couple of work out and went to the YMCA in sequin where I am staying in a hotel. I had the great pleasure to meet Dana and Donna at the front desk. Could not be more gracious and informative on everything that the YMCA has to offer . Asked also about hiking trails around the area and within minutes both wonderful women gave me all Infos about different trails I could hike especially storm king trail and how to bet there. This facility is the best in Sequim. It offers a large Gym, Pool. baby pool. wet and dry sauna, large jacuzzi. Showers and lockers. They offer day pass. The staff is very friendly and helpful read more

Pool has been closed for over a month and management blames members and contractors. Hot tub water is not hot. Ladies locker room lacks heat. Swimsuit spinner in ladies locker room hasn't worked for years. Management has allowed homeless persons to park overnight in the parking lot for extended periods of time as long as they leave by morning. Another semi-homeless person who collects her mail at the Y appears to have walked off with some of our belongings. Janie the yoga instructor has publicly shamed more experienced yoga participants in her all-levels class more than once. Black mold in the dry sauna persists. Customer service is sorely lacking. Overall, the Sequim YMCA is a mess and a poor value for the money as they recently raised annual membership dues to over $1,000 per year. According to a You Tube video by the Aquatics Manager, we're supposed to ignore all this because the Y is supposed to be about community! read more

Great place to workout,swim play racketball or basketball. There are exciting fitness classes for all abilities and ages. It a wonderful place to meet new friends. read more

The Sequim Y has really started to unravel in the last few years. The showers/changing rooms are usually pretty nasty. Sauna and facilities are falling apart and urgently need an upgrade. They keep cutting hours (pool ad sauna are now closed from 12:00 to 3:00 pm) - no wonder they keep having staffing issues, they pay them next to nothing. Unfortunately for Sequim, this Y is not at all worth the membership money. read more

I was not impressed, and was treated pretty rudely by more then 1 staff member. Including a supervisor in the Wellness Center, she talked to me in a very sarcastic, condescending tone that I didn't appreciate. Plus, the pool will close at random. I would say overall, this Y is definitely not worth the membership fee. read more

I was only a member for a week or so, and just canceled my membership. The staff just make up rules when they feel like it. One day it's only ok to be in the sauna for 10 minutes while in a sweat suit. The next day it's not really recommended, but you're ok. The day after that it's not recommended, but wait now it's just not allowed. I asked to see the rules, and nowhere in the rules did it state that a sweat suit could not be worn in the sauna. They justified their actions by quoting a vague rule about appropriate pool attire. Im not in the pool, I say. Well now it's a safety issue. Ok. What about the constant watch of the life guards (and they're seriously great at keeping watch) and the big open window with clear visibility? Well now we can't just adjust for one person. Oh ok. I'm a grown man who served his country honorably for over a decade, I know bullshit when I smell it, you can't convince me otherwise. I really enjoyed my time at the Y, I really did, but this kind of grade school nonsense is ridiculous. Somebody obviously had a power trip over me not wanting to get out of the sauna when on day 7 it's suddenly against the rules to wear a sweat suit in there. read more

Its a nice ymca everyone is nice the pools are nice the gym is ok don't worry about your stuff being stolen

Love to train and its fun here. Signing up was a LONG process tho could have been quicker IMO. If they were open on Sunday and early on sat it would be 5 stars read more

The locker rooms and pool were clean. The staff and lifeguards were friendly. The main pool was closed but we got to use the kiddy pool, sauna and hot tub. Next time, we'll call ahead to make sure the main pool is open because we were excited for the waterslide and rope swing. read more

This is a review is for Bill Caples and his boxing fitness class. I first tried his class a few years ago and I was surprised by both how challenging and how natural it felt. I am a teacher myself, and I have been a student to hundreds of teachers all over the world in my travels. Bill is one of the greatest teachers I've ever come across. And it is 100% natural to him. He can have an 80-year-old in his class at the same time as an 11 year old and somehow navigate the full spectrum of learning needed according to each individual's capacity. I am very athletic. And I felt challenged every single time, while others who were just beginning to get into shape were encouraged to take their own pace and use modifications. The thing that stands out most to me about Bella and boxing is his passion for the sport. He was obviously a professional in the sport for many decades and was a private coach for a long time. The fact that you have access to him at the local YMCA still blows my mind. I just moved to Atlanta, and I am going to start training at a local combat fitness facility. I'll because Bill shared his passion of boxing with me. I also really enjoyed Jane and Kitty's classes. They are both equally passionate about what they do! Horrendous experience. The lifeguards where some of the rudest people Iv ever met. They were Constantly yelling at my little cousins for no good reason and seemed like they were enjoying it. When it came time to kick everyone out for the next session they just blew the whistle and yelled get out. Not very fun. read more

Some of the lifeguard staff handle situations with the kids in either an uneducated/immature way my kids are old enough to go alone but don't feel comfortable as there is always some kind of confrontation,hot tub is nice sauna is nice pool has alot of chlorine takes several washes to fully get it off skin and clothes not sure if it's worth the amount they charge ive been a member for about 2 years. read more

Staff is friendly. Place is pretty clean.. Needs more room in fitness center, esp. stretching area. The equipment is well maintained -which is nice! I would love it if they switched to salt water for the pool bc the chlorine is almost unbearable. - can't get the smell out of swim suits even after several washes... The child care area is ok but some of the staff don't really seem to even like kids. The kids feel it too... And I noticed they keep some toys out of reach for kids...?? I'm assuming bc they don't want to pick them up bc it's little things... Anyways, my kids never want to go in there and they go other places to get watched just fine. :( It's always a fight.. read more

SARC is an OK place to go to if you're looking for a gym while you're on vacation, however be careful of the exuberant prices as it is NOT cheap. read more

Friendly staff and clean throughout. A warm community atmosphere. There were a nice variety of options--of note: weight machines, saunas, warm therapy pool [with jets], lap swimming, racquetball courts, cardio machines, a basketball court, and water slide. SARC is no more. There was a referendum on raising money to keep it open but it didn't pass. This place closed and was closed for a year before the YMCA took it over. Not sure what it is like now but everyone I have talked to says it is nice. read more

OMG it's NOT clean!!! the pool/dressing area that is. i'm a senior and only joined to use the pool. the pool is ok except NOW you can't use the pool during many hours since the Port Angeles swimming team uses it. what?? that does not seem fair since "I" pay my dues and should be able to use it during the hours it stated when i joined!!! in the showers, when i first joined, i thought i saw a huge slug in the corner. after i dressed and put on my glasses, i went back and found out it was indeed a human feces and NOT a slug. i went to the front desk and told a young woman about it and this was her response. "We will check it out whenever we have time." period! OMG WHO says that when it deals with excrement? i NOW have athletes foot for the first time ever. only place i could have gotten this was at THIS DIRTY pool! in the shower area i've seen poop, wet dirty diapers, icky bandaids and lots of globs of mucus!! what the hell? i am NOT going back. this athletes foot thing is terrible!! everyone who works there is very young and does not take cleanliness serious at all. the showers should be cleaned with bleach at least every hour to kill germs. i've seen the lifeguards wiping the handrails down, but not very good. i do NOT recommend this pool and the changing/shower areas to ANYONE! i used to take my grandson, but not anymore. can't wait for the Port Angeles salt water pool to open up next year. avoid the Sequim YMCA pool if you value the health of your feet! and i wore shower shoes everywhere except IN the pool!!! ahhhhhhhhhhh. . . . . . read more

Sarc is looking to tax all home owners, even those who never use the gym. They would rather take the hard earned money and give out nothing, than honor a coupon that was expired by 2 weeks and let $600 walk out the door (the coupon was only a savings of $50, btw). Also, just recently i was told I could rent the raquetball court for 2 hours for a group of youth, and he would cut them a deal of $2 a person ( this is only for the use of the court and only for 2 hours...nothing more). After i passed this on to the kids, and set it all up, sarc came back telling me now, $3 per person. I know it don't sound like much, but an extra dollar a week can make a big difference to most teenagers paying out of pocket, it seems fairly greedy on Sarc's part, and in turn has made me into a liar who had to go back on what I originally had passed on. I had a group of 6 ready to play ($12 at the first quoted price), now I have 2 people willing to still play ($6 at new price) and it is not enough people to play wallyball. Thank you very much sarc for helping the community so much, being so quick to nickel and dime everyone, and caring more about taking money from people who don't even use your facility, rather than opening your doors to people who need it! read more
