These guys charge a premium price but don't know how to deliver. They installed my fence two feet short of my property line, all because they premade the fence to measurements that were wrong. Even though they had a plat of survey, which I guess they never read. Now my backyard is two feet shorter than it should have been. Hard to imagine why these guys think they're worth extra. Maybe a cheaper guy would know how to use a measuring tape. read more

(Installation date March 2014)Where to begin....first we were told that subcontractors would not be used but that is exactly who showed up to install our 300 ft fence. Then, the first 6 posts were placed in the wrong place and they got upset when we asked them to move them. Then come to find out they hit the power lines for us and our neighbor. We contacted them several times with no response ever, to this date. Once they got their money they no longer cared. A few days after installation I noticed nails bent, hammered in side ways. Different nails/ screws used for the caps on the posts. A severe bend in the fence like they used warped wood. Over all I can say I was extremely dissatisfied. He was willing to come out several times to make adjustments to our estimate that we had to change because of problems with the property line, our neighbors installing a fence before we did, and city permit issues. First the estimator didn't listen to what I wanted. I asked for my fence to be extended to the front on both sides of my house and he only measured out for the oneside. They came and put my fence in and one day which was nice but they left a four and a half inch gap on the bottom of the gate so my dog has been getting out. Also the left a gap going down the side of the gate that starts at a inch and opens up to a 2 inch cap at the bottom. I have called 5-6 time and keep getting the same response that or manager will call you and they never do. Wishing I would of went with someone else. read more

I was supposed to have a short length of fence installed this past Saturday. In addition to the poor weather, there have been many problems with this installation. 1. The work crew did not have the material I had ordered and thought all 3 houses on my block was getting the same material. 2. No one from the work crew came to my house to speak with me before beginning the work. I had to run out in the rain after they had dug several post holes behind my house and started scratching their heads about the tree in the corner of my neighbor's lot. 3. The tree in my neighbor's lot should not have been a problem. It had been cut back and our fence should not be that close to it. It appears the work crew has aligned the post holes with the other neighbor's wooden fence which is 1/2 foot on the other side of the lot line. There should be a 6 to 12 inch gap between that fence and ours. 4. I notified my Cedar Rustic salesman (the only contact I have) of the problems and he said he would contact someone at the office and call me back on Monday. It is now Wednesday and I have not heard back from anyone at Cedar Rustic. Based on these problems, my wife and I believe we should cancel our purchase, the materials on our property should be removed, the post holes should be filled, and our down payment refunded. read more

Waited SIX WEEKS for my fence to be installed on 8-8-18 and at the end of the day they were short a panel and said they would be back the very next morning to install it so by midday yesterday no one came and I could not reach a live person in the office just voicemail I decided to take ride to their office.. I got to the office and was told my panel was made that morning and was on a van ready to be installed that afternoon well here we are the next day Friday late morning no panel no answer from the office either I'm beyond furious now because the missing panel is on the front of my property stay away from this company they are not worth the headache! I wish it had gone better. I quoted 4 companies to do my aluminum fence. At about 700 linear feet we knew it was not going to be cheap but were more interested in a quality fence and quick installation. Our salesman, Devin, was knowledgeable and polite and gave us what we thought was a good quote. He said more than once that due to the dollar amount of our job (approx. 15k), he shouldn't have any problem getting us a faster install date. He also said that the date would be no later than 7/30. After several calls to see about the actual date, they never managed to get it moved up. And after telling us that it would not be pushed out, they tried to push it out. They finally agreed to install it as scheduled after I complained. The foreman and crew did a great job but the fence did not get installed like we requested. I wanted an opening in the fence that we could drive a car through and instead of a double gate (which I later found out would have been the best option) Devin recommended 2 sections of removable fence. When you get removable sections, the post between those is not removable so you can't actually drive a car through like I asked for. We worked with the foreman to get the opening we needed but because they had already installed the section where we wanted it, we had to put it somewhere else. They also charged me $475 for an extra gate (after saying he would try to get it for free). For us, it was poor customer service for what was really the salesman's quoting mistake. In the end, I wish we had gone with another company. We might have waited a little longer but we would have gotten what we wanted. read more

This fence is a year old. I am so happy with this company. We had 3 companies come out for an estimate. One guy was okay. Not very knowledgeable. The next company didn't even look at where we wanted the fence , and said " we will beat anyone by $500 without knowing what we want and making me feel un comfortable in their work. I'd had a cedar fence installed by Cedar Rustic in a previous house and was happy with the way it turned out. Had the same type of fence installed around our large yard in our next house and they did a pretty good job, fence looked nice. Forward about 7 years: I have 4-5 posts rotting and wobbly at the base, and the top boards - they're about 1/2" thick (if that) by 4 or 5 inches wide - many are rotted now and will crumble in my hands. Surprised they hold the weight of our backyard squirrels which scamper around on them. Of course, it's not a size of lumber I can find in any of the stores either, and I need at least a dozen of them. Guess they should have been treated with something, but I was under the impression cedar is somewhat rot-resistant. Makes me wonder if it's really cedar they used for the tops. I need to sort of rebuild one of my gates as well, as the bottom 2x4 is rotted and the bolts holding the hardware are falling out. Nice fencing and fast work, but longevity and availability of replacement materials are my issue. I think the warranty is long done after 7 years, wish it were for 10 years.. Should have picked a simpler pattern which would make replacement materials easier to find. read more

I had a salesperson, Devon, who worked with us and we decided on a type of fence. I paid the required 1/3 deposit to secure our spot. It took us one year to get the fence permit and some issues with the retaining wall resolved so we called Cedar Rustic to return to complete the process. Greg came to our house. Was polite, helpful, and spent almost an hour with us. We learned that the type of fence we had chosen and had a deposit on was no longer available. So, we chose a different one. Greg was to call us back stating that he "would do his best" to keep the cost that was quoted and contracted for - would be as close as possible. No call. Three calls were made and voicemails left over the span of three weeks with no return call from Greg. He just totally walked away from this project. I requested a refund and was able to get the deposit back. When I asked the accounting manager why he would not return my calls, she had no answer. I submitted an email on the website requesting a reason.... no response. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Their lack of follow through and follow up is a 0. read more

I have called Cedar Rustic 3 times to come fix my gates that they installed. All 3 times nobody picks up so I leave a voicemail. Nobody called me back all 3 times and nobody came to fix the issue. So I am not happy with the warranty service. You know a company cares about their customers when they will still talk to you and honor warranty work after they get your money. We had a wood fence installed by Cedar Rustic in the early 2000's and have been very pleased with the fence overall. The only issue we have had all this time is with some of the posts. They indicated 20 years or more, when in reality we have had some of them rot at the ground starting around the 10 year mark. Not a lot of them and we do have very heavy clay soil where we live. We just had a fence installed yesterday. Debbie our sales person was honest and straight forward even though there was a little hiccup with the pricing after her initial quote. We were able to resolve the issue. It was an honest mistake and she gave us an appropriate discount for her mistake. Her price was still the best out of six estimates. The installation crew led by Israel did a fantastic job. They showed up around 9am and worked until 7pm to get the job done in one day! They were polite and very efficient with their work. The fence turned out great. They cleaned up after they were finished. They removed my old wooden fence and posts and installed approx. 180' of new. vinyl fence with 29 posts and 3 gates. We had a fence installed 5 years ago. We have had a problem with the gate to our driveway and although they came out a few times, the issue was never completely resolved. The gate is very hard to open and the posts are moving. Currently, I have been waiting for a month for some solution to the problem after a representative came out to look at it. I love the wooden and aluminum fence we picked out. We had new sod put in our front yard and advised the installers to stay off the grass in the front yard. I have a school in my back yard and drive way which makes it accessible without going in the front yard. The installers ignored what I said and pushed a wheelbarrow full of rocks thru the front yard. I went out there and again told him to stay off the grass. So he dumped rocks in my flower bed and bushes. I did not notice this until they were gone. I also asked why the gate latch was in the middle of the gate and was told put a wire on it and you can access on the other side. I called cedar rustic and have to wait 2 weeks for them to come out and remove the rocks and change the latch. That's not customer service read more

They sent their Salesman out he measured and never got back to me. I called the main office twice. Not interested in helping out. This company has the worst customer service I have seen in a while. I called to schedule an appointment for an estimate. The day of the estimate I call after 10 minutes goes by after the scheduled appointment time and ask to check the status of the person stopping by to give the estimate. The customer service lady says that the sales person called the previous day and the morning of to confirm. No call or message was left on my phone. Then the customer service lady says that my number was out of service, read the number back to me and the number was correct. If you can't make it call don't just leave a person hanging. The fence is ok except for one pole, sank and is uneven. Had a down spout going under old fence and installers told me they would fix it, after they were done they left. Called Cedar Rustic they said that men would come out and fix the problems, nobody has showed up and it'll be three weeks on friday. I made a major mistake by paying down payment with a credit card, when job was done on friday Oct. 30, 2015 they took rest of payment from credit card without my approval. We were extremely disappointed with Cedar Rustic Fence Co. Having used them previously and with their long experience in the business, we thought they were the go-to company for replacing a portion of our fencing last summer. Briefly: - The job was poorly manned and without the equipment to perform a proper and timely job. - I expected pre-shaped arched panels to arrive on site only to find their man hand cutting panels in my yard. - The fence erected was not the fence design I ordered from their salesperson, Kim. - Many calls to CR's shop girls were a waste of time. - Three weeks after installation, the gate was malfunctioning. I received some small satisfaction when Mike O. came to view the problem and saw to the reinstallation of my gate and posts. To his credit, he listened patiently to my litany of complaints and admitted I had cause....almost as though he had heard this before. There was more, but suffice to say this was a fuster cluck from the beginning. And I do not have the fence I ordered. Apparently that's on me!! My advice to anyone who has contracted with Cedar-Rustic is to closely supervise the work they do on your property. Better still, cancel them and hire a different company. read more

This is a no star company!!! This is one of the worst companies. It took them three weeks to run my credit card and I was told that it would not stay on file. Wrong!!! They never called to notify me that they were coming out. I was getting ready for work and there was a knock on the door. The man tells me he is from cedar rustic and is here to install my deck. They dug the holes and left without saying a word. The next day the inspector came out and told me to call the company so they could pour the cement that day before the rain. Well I called and they never showed up. When you call no one returns ur calls. I was not given my permit that they are suppose to pull due to the area I live in. The deck isn't complete and we have had nothing but problems with this company. Wish I would have spent the extra money and went with ameridream. read more

Had a fence installed had problem closing gate inspected it closely to see why I couldn't close it noticed the hinges were only attached to one side of fence called to inform them of situation and can't get anyone to come out until next month. The fence was installed for security reasons now my security has to be compromised for 30 days because I'm unable to close and put my lock on my gate. They don't return my calls and when I went to the office the person I needed to speak to wasn't in. We have several 6" gaps that I feel they should fill in. We had a 6 ft open picket cedar fence installed 1 1/2 ago. Very reasonable, on time, courteous, as promised! They met all my expectations and requests...I was even able to make changes to the order w/o any problems. You may be able to find a cheaper price on a fence but you get what you pay for!!! Just ask my neighbors....they are all wishing they had just gone with Cedar Rustic! This company has the best prices on cedar fencing. Cedar rustic had installed our last fence which lasted about 18 yrs, so we decided to use them again. This time we are having a vinyl fence put in. Everything went well with Debbie our sales person whom by the way, has been exceptional to this point. Here is were it goes south. On installation day a 2 man crew showed up on time mind you. After about an hour, one of the crew members go MIA. I think he was sick or just walked off the job. I promptly called the office so they could have plenty of time find a replacement. After several times of calling I had to contact our sales rep to get someone from the office to call me back. I was told they had nobody else, but they would send another crew later in the day. Well that left 1 installer here who worked his ass off all day. By 4pm I was told no other crew was coming. So much for 1 day install I was promised. My concern was that with 1 guy here by himself would lead to a poor install. Boy was I right. After 1 week I noticed that 18 out of 23 post are wobbly and loose, our post toppers were not glued either and 1 gate is sagging and wont latch properly. I know that the installer did not use enough concrete for the posts. I watched him and even questioned him. I was told that this is how its done. He was not using (Qickrete) BS. OK I don't think that you mix a little concrete , dump in hole, dump dry mix on top of that and move on.? At the end he put a garden hose down the post and said it will mix and set. At this point we are waiting for Cedar rustic to get back to us to repair this problem. I feel that although our installer did the best he could by himself, there were a lot of shortcuts taken. If Cedar Rustic stands behind their work and resolves this matter then I will reevaluate. read more

Beautiful fence but it took a return trip to get it to code with the village. Initial install had a beautiful, level top, however they didn't leave any clearance on the bottom. Our salesman Greg was great and as helpful as he could be, but the reviews about not getting return calls from the office are accurate. I counted 4 times I was promised a call back to address the code issue that I had to personally call back and track down answers. A few weeks in everything was resolved and I'm still incredibly happy with the fence. Can't bash the quality and workmanship at this point, it's just important for these guys to tighten up their customer service if they want to thrive in our social media culture of today. Horrible customer service!!!!! I just had our PVC fence installed from cedar rustic in May of this year ( 2014). 4 months later, 3 panels from the gate flew off from the winds. Mind you that they were heavy winds but nothing like a windstorm you would see with tornado weather. I called the office and they sent someone to fix it 2 weeks later which I paid $100 for repair. Ok whatever, then about a month ago, 2 more panels blew off.. One that was "fixed" a couple of months ago. The weather wasn't even bad. This time it ruined my neighbors siding and my dog ran off bc I didn't know the panelling was missing. So I called the office, they sent someone the following day, no charge. I asked the installer is this normal for panels to fly off everytime wind blows and to check the rest of the panels. I shouldn't have to pay for my neighbors siding if in fact the panels blew off from poor installation. I called everyday about 5 times. They always said someone would get back to me but they never did. All it takes is a phone call. I would not recommend this company bc I can't confidently say their installation is sturdy. I have pets so I should not be scared that my pets would run off whenever the wind blows bc part of the panelling of the fence is now missing! Hope this helps someone! read more

I contacted Cedar Rustic Fence for my new cedar fence project because of an ad I received and I read a number of positive reviews. I was very pleased with Kelly and the sales rep Joey. I also spoke to Carla about scheduling the actual date for the work to be done, which I describe below. Kelly, my first contact, set an appointment for Thursday, May 12 @ 3pm for Joey to visit and quote the job. I told Kelly and she informed Joey that my wife would and I would not be home until 4pm. In that case he could go in the backyard, take the measurements and call me with his quote. That day (May 12) Joey called me said he had taken measurements and would leave the quote between the doors at the front of our house. I came home later that night, retrieved and looked over the quote. I called Joey's cell, left him a message to call me Monday (today) so we can finalize the project. Well before May 12 Carla had spoken to me and schedule the work to be done on May 26. Kelly originally scheduled the work date for mid/late June. I told Kelly June would be too late because I have a major landscape project scheduled for late May and that project could not be done until the fence was installed. Kelly put me through to Carla. After a brief discussion with Carla accommodated me and scheduled the work to be done on May 26. That was very kind, and I told her how much we appreciated that. All his went south was on Saturday morning May 14. I received a phone call from Carla. Immediately Carla says that she will no longer honor the May 26 work date. Before I can ask why the date is cancelled Carla said that on May 12 my wife and I were not at home to meet Joey the rep, the project was not quoted, and therefore she was cancelling the May 26 date. I told Carla that we had pre-arranged with Kelly that Joey would go in, take measurements, call me and leave the quote for us. All of which took place. Carla acted surprised that it had been done as I said. Nevertheless, Carla refused to honor the May 26 work date. We did exactly what had been arranged through Kelly at the office. Monday afternoon (May 16) Joey, the sales rep called me as requested. He was unaware that Carla had cancelled our project date. I told him why she cancelled, which he knew was a misunderstanding on Carla's part. Joey then called Carla to sort this out. Instead of sorting this out Carla changed her story for cancelling the May 26 date. She told Joey to tell me that it would be impossible for me to get a permit from the village office in time for May 26 that it would take a minimum of three weeks. Carla was making a broad assumption with that, and furthermore, as I told, Joey, I have an adult daughter who works for the village, which means I could have a permit in a matter of a few days. Furthermore, I did not appreciate Carla speaking to me through a third party who has no knowledge of and nothing to do with the problem that she created. Carla should have called me herself to sort this out. I could have tried to reschedule the landscape project to get the fence in first. Carla, however, never gave me a chance. On Tuesday (5/17) Kelly phoned me about the project and she too was unaware that Carla had killed the May 26 work date. Kelly said she would discuss this with "Greg" (the owner) who called me to discuss the issue. Greg did offer to keep the May 26 work date. Later that day, however, I contacted Joey and left a message for Kelly to inform them I am postponing the project, and may contact them later this year or early 2017 to try again. I'm sorry that what had been a good experience with Kelly, Joey and initially Carla had turned sour. People make mistakes, but we step up and own mistakes. It would have been helpful if Carla would have at least shown some professional courtesy during her phone call to me on Saturday, maybe an apology and offer an alternate plan, but she did not. I don't discourage anyone from contacting Cedar Rustic about a fence project. I like to believe my experience was an exception to not the rule for Cedar in their customer relations. PS: I understand that Cedar Rustic may respond to this review. If one iota of what I have described above is disputed, it is an untruthful rebuttal. read more
