The good and the bad. GOOD: 1. Tom is friendly and easy to talk to, he reminded me an old friend I use to know...which is why I decided to go with AmeriDream 3. Price was good.* (see bullet point 3) 2. The cedar would looks beautiful now that is done * (see bullet point 5, however) BAD: 1. Consultation: showed up to the wrong address 2. Had me file my own permit 3. Took measurements, for only a 3rd of the perimeter, and proceeded to tell me, he didn't quote us for the rest of the fence. Yet at the start at our conversation I said I had a small dog I would like to keep inside the fence hence why we're replacing it. He assumed because my neighbors fence is already up that I didn't need that portion; but I said we'll need that section fenced in as well. The neighbors fence has gapping wholes at the bottom. When they showed up to start, they said they would need to charge me additional 2k for the uncounted side of the yard. 4. 3 days before the work started: we called to verify the aforementioned area because our neighbor wanted to make sure they didn't remove his fence. AmeriDream confirmed and said we'll need to make space between you and your neighbors fence to accommodate for the our fence next to his. 5. 1 week after their work was complete, a warped board started to show on the street side of the fence.* 6. I called to pay my balance after the work was complete. They did not have their additional 2k accounted for in their total. So I paid and thought, that sounds about right; they haven't struck me as organized thus far. 7. A few days later, I get a message for the invoice of the additional 2k. I paid it immediately. Becuz I'm ready to be done with them; as I'm sure the reader of this post is by now...sorry to say that's not all. 8. A few weeks later I get a call from their office asking me, when will I be able to pay the rest of my balance. (See bullet point 7). I said, "it's been paid, for quite sometime now." They apologized and hung up. 9. I was NOT going to write this diatribe; but after that lovely call shortly ago; this is officially my wits end. Hope this helps future buyers. read more

I was initially very pleased with the fence installed. Less than a year after the installation, the gate blew off during a storm. I have made countless calls and texts to get this fixed. I am sure it would not have take much for them to fix it or at the very least call me back. They asked me to send pictures which I did and they never got back to me. I ended up having to get someone else fix it because I have kids and dogs and needed that gate repaired. Ended up being a very unfortunate experience. They do not stand behind their work. read more

The team of 3 workers did an excellent job on the fence. Four hours from start to finish on my 100 ft. Job including a gate. It was a hot day, but they kept on going. ( I helped a little by supplying cold waters) The only issue I had was they splashed some cement on some flowers and grass, and some brown spots on the grass turned up the next day where they placed tarps for loads of dirt/clay that they picked up to take away. Those spots are starting to green up a week later. FENCE DEFECTS I don't recommend AmeriDream and won't hire them again. This over $10,000 project was a FUBAR re: Sales, Zoning, Billing, and execution. Salesman Tom S. came out Oct 23rd to view the property and take measurements, as you'd expect. He said the neighbor's existing fences wouldn't prevent installing our fences back-to-back. Turns out, t's actually a zoning violation. He suggested we "let neighbors know we can take down their fence, if they want." They declined. Installation was scheduled for Nov 17th. Two weeks passed without hearing from AmeriDream. Nov 26th, I texted Tom, "never received a receipt...when is work scheduled to begin?" He replied, "Office is closed...I'll have them email the receipt...installation is this coming week." Dec 6th, workers dug unnecessary 3-foot-deep holes through our lawn and garden where no fence can be placed (East/West). The Village came to inspect for code and realized they were working from an illegal permit; the application indicated "no existing fences". If neighbors agreed to remove their fences, AmeriDream would've needed to submit their agreement in writing with the permit request. Tom S. had to have known this before sending a crew to destroy our lawn. We agreed to have them install the legal part of the project at the lesser cost of approx. $2,600. Dec 8th, the crew returned and completed the work over 3 days. Still no receipt or refund for the difference between deposit and revised cost; $310. While they worked on the South gate, I told the crew chief the West gate was installed backwards. He said, "OH, that's the direction my company always has us install them." I asked, "Then why did you ask two days ago, which direction I wanted them?" He said; "Oh, actually we can't install them in the direction you want because the [slab] next to the house prevents us from digging that hole as deep as the hole on the other side. So, it wouldn't be as stable." This gaslighting had no effect on me, they'd dug the holes and had them inspected by the village long before asking my opinion. The South fence looked great, but the three gates did not have a professional appearance, with the following defects: West gate: backwards, stained with oily tread marks, missing handles. East gate: backwards, jams at the top and needs to be trimmed, missing handles. South gate: backwards, cut ragged, crooked, missing handles. Overall, this project was sloppy. They left behind thick mud all about our walkways, patio, and in our garage. I spent two days cleaning this sticky mess. They filled in the holes they didn't need, but didn't tamp them down. There were mud mounds along the East and West sides; until rain came and settled them, making them 1-foot-deep holes. Dec 13th, AmeriDream left a voicemail saying they hung the [South] gate crooked because "the ground is not level." This didn't make sense. The bottom is straight. The rails and the top are crooked. Also, the ground is not level under the other two gates, yet those are straight. This same day, the refund owed was put in wrong; charging more instead of refunding us. This took a week to correct. They finally provided a receipt. Dec 14th, they scheduled a crew to correct the gates Dec 19th. Dec 19th, the crew "called in sick". Dec 20th, the crew (one guy) came out. He repeated the excuse as to why the crooked gate had to remain that way. I showed him how to hang a gate straight using shims. Following my instruction, he removed/replaced the crooked gate, trimmed the East gate, added handles to each gate, and repaired the direction of the West gate but didn't clean stains from it. I'm glad my neighbors declined to have them work on their property. God knows what complaints may have arisen. The one thing they did right was hire Jessica as receptionist. She's intelligent, empathetic, and professional. She walked me through every step of getting this corrected. I wish every AmeriDream employee were as committed to excellence as she is. read more

We recently had a fence installed by Ameridream. It was a great experience from start to finish! Our sales person was terrific! He was friendly, knowledgeable and his communication was great! The price was very fair and in line with other estimates we had received. The office staff provided consistent communication through the permitting and scheduling process and the installers, WOW! They took the time in the middle of their install to ask us if we were interested in a couple minor changes to our fence gate locations, and I'm glad they did. We had our fence installed. To paraphrase the saying, cheap isn't always a good idea. I was given an installation date of August 2 at $9,900. I was nervous because it came in lower than the 5 other estimates I'd received. Additionally, it was mis measured (though, to there credit, they did not increase the price after realizing they undercalculated). The agent also arrived minutes late to the appointment. I was willing to look past the red flags because, honestly, the price was a lure. So I booked it. Weeks later, I checked in to make sure we were on schedule to start. Deposit had been paid and the sales agent had been informed that the survey would be ready for pickup when it was time for them to pull the permit. However, when I called to check in, he didn't remember that portion of our previous conversation. Instead, he told me that I had not provided the survey, and as such would not be installed on the agreed upon date. I was livid, because not once in the weeks I had been waiting had I been informed of the change of plans. The agent then informed me that he would secure the survey "now that he knew he was supposed to". The date was moved to the 8th. I again called back near that next date, as I had not been contacted with time frames. I was again told that there would be no installation because, guess what, I had not pulled a survey. I was very vocal about the lack of communication and very upset. I decided to go to the village myself to get the survey since it was proving to be problematic. When I arrived, I was informed that the survey had already been picked up by the contractor. I suppressed my ever-growing frustration at the horrible communication practices and lack of accountability of this company. I prepared for the next date of the 19th. There should be no further issues. Guess what, there would be not installation on the 19th either. Why? Because they never pulled the permit. It took me threatening refund and cancelation (I really should have, but I worried about another 8 week delay from another company). The installation date ended up being the 26th. It was partially completed on that day and the crew didn't return until 2 days later due to heat. When they were done, the fence looked nice, but here were a couple of damaged panels. The agent who promised to be there on install day and to do a final walk through, never showed. I did get an invoice though requesting payment. I said, "Sure. When the agent comes out to walk through some of my concerns." He came then; he answered my quality control questions and scheduled a service for the damaged panels. He also promised that I could have handles installed as long as they were on-site when the service date came. No date was given. I was told that I would be contacted with a service date. So, I waited. Guess what. I did receive a service date. It was given to me the night before the service would be done. Perfect amount of time for me to make arrangements to be there and not out and about. No, not really. They gave me a window of 2-5pm. They showed up at noon. They had no idea what needed to be fixed. I was not home. So my husband had to pause work and figure out which panels of the large yard fence had been included on the work order. Then, we had to convince the contractor to install the handles, because he did not have that information included on the work order. At this point I was willing to YouTube installing the handles, because I no longer wanted to deal with this company. The contractor did finally agree to attach the handles. The fence is done. I do not recommend this company. Yes, it was cheap, but it cost me on time, and stress energy. There is no consistency in communication or accountability. The most I got for my inconvenience, was the sales agent saying, "Sorry about the confusion. It was partially my fault." I won't do business with them again. read more

I am no longer a customer of Ameri Dream Fence & Deck. I had damages to my fence from the 7/13 storm and called them on 7/14 asking for a quote to fix my fence. I eventually received an email asking for pictures of the damage to that they could calculate a quote. On 8/2 I finally received a call with a quote and was scheduled for the next day. I was suppose to receive notification in the morning as to what time they would arrive. NO call, just arrived in the afternoon. The top rail that had to be replaced did not match the rest of the fence but not much I could about that. I went back in my house and the guy was back at my door 15 minutes later saying they were done. I was charged $450 for 15 minutes of labor. When I called to dispute the price I was told that the base price was $650, no matter how long they at the customers home and I was already given a $200 discount. They said there is nothing that can be done because I signed the quote and I should have asked how long it would take before I signed. I told her they should state that the charge on the quote was a base amount. So if you dont mind getting gauged, by all means give them a call read more

AmeriDream Fence & Deck Inc. The reason this company is getting one star is because we love our new fence! BUT, what it took to get this new fence installed was a joke! We told our sales guy, the fence needed to be moved out further on one side, to the property line. Their workers came and I talked to the lead person about moving the fence out to the property line and stacking the old wooden fence, which he had to call the office and have someone translate. Once they had all the holes dug and the post in, we realized they move the fence further into our property line, instead of moving it out to the property line, including cutting into our cement pad (which wasn't in the contract)! After a crew chief came out and we got that all straightened out, we then noticed they installed the wrong latches, as we should have had locks and handles, which we tried to tell the workers, but we're told this is what we were getting. We met again with our sales guy after all is said and done, my fence was never moved out to the property line (which we said leave it at this point!) and they left smudge marks, blood and dirt one a brand new white fence I paid just under $9,000 for! I'm embarrassed that I have a beautiful new fence that looks like crap! This is not including the mess they left behind including cigarette butts around my back yard! Thinking about it, I'm wondering how they expect their employees to read a contract and plot of survey, when they need a translator to tell them where to stack the old fence! After talking to the company, they came out to clean up...but they DID NOT clean the fence and left us non-smokers to clean up the cigarette butts before I could let my grandkids play out there! They ended up hauling away our old fence for free, but I still need to hire someone to clean our fence or spend a day doing it ourselves! It's was embarrassing and sad, when my neighbors even commented how dirty and nasty (blood marks from your employee) you left my new fence! I'm confident the owners of the company would not accept this kind of work at their homes! They were hired to put in a fence. First think in the morning, we hear music from Mexico blasting away. You could hear it four houses away. Ridiculous. We live in a respectable neighborhood. We work from home. Also, the workers were smoking pot while on the job. You could smell it 75 feet away. Between the Mexican music and pot smoking it sounds like these guys get paid for having a party on someone else's property. Whoever owns this company should be ashamed of themselves for this lack of professionalism and for letting workers do recreational drugs on the job. read more

I made my concerns known to "Liliana" via text message and I also sent an email on December 30th, 2022, but this company isn't reachable via phone and has not responded to any of my emails. They dug holes onto my property near my foundation and left them open to the elements with no sense of urgency in getting this job done during a Chicago winter. Outstanding fence quality materials. Nick went out of his way to assist us in installing a custom arbor at one of the gates. The crews attention to detail was amazing. They took down the old fence and took it with. We have a lot of landscaping and they were very attentive at caring for all the plants while installing the fence. If you like unresponsive companies, this is the place for you. Our salesman, Tom Keefe, does not answer his phone, emails or call back in a timely manner. The office is no better. They'll give you the old sales pitch that they have all the fences in stock yet we had to wait weeks for installation because they didn't have the fence in stock. Tom gave us one installation date and the office gave us another. The installers were good, no issues there. Once that was complete it took the office another 3 weeks to call and get the last payment. I highly recommend any other company. Also, be sure to check the work against the estimate because they did not follow through with what was provided on the contract and they say there's a cash discount, but there really isn't. read more

We had this company install a privacy fence in our backyard in April of 2022. Two months later, our gate fell apart because it was not installed properly-- apparently, the holes for the metal posts which secure the gate to our driveway were not drilled deeply enough. This was confirmed by Tom, who we think is the owner, when he came out to see the reported problem. The gate was then improperly repaired and, after another couple months, the screws which hold the gate up on the top and bottom on one side started to come loose. After many texts, emails and phone calls, we were told by the receptionist that 'she didn't think anyone would come out because there is nothing wrong with the gate.' We will be pursuing legal action, as the fence is under full warranty for one year. This company does not stand behind its product, the gate materials are flimsy, and they have zero customer service. We are very insulted to be gaslighted like this-- the gate was not installed right and broke, then it wasn't repaired right and is about to break again....so disappointed we spent almost $8000 for the fence. I wanted to give this company the benefit of the doubt but the customer service they provide is horrible. I called and requested a quote for a new fence for our home. I scheduled the appointment for Saturday, June 16th with Daryl. Daryl came out as expected, took measurements and said he would email me Monday with design options so we could work on pricing. Monday came no email. Tuesday...no email (yes I checked spam folder etc.) On Wednesday I called the office and left a voicemail. I called Daryl as well on his cell phone and left a voicemail. Thursday called again and left a voicemail. Nothing. I was blown off by both the office and sales rep. I'm irritated that I blocked off a Saturday afternoon for a company that can't even manage to return a phone call. This is obviously an indication of their work. read more

Our experience with Ameri Dream has been nothing but great. We started the process back in April, then put it on hold for awhile for reasons beyond our control. I contacted Tom again in early August and he assured me that they would honor the price we were given in April. We had to get our own permit (which we have found is pretty typical when you are dealing with DuPage County rather than a city or village government) but they took care of calling JULIE. Today, the fence was installed. They removed and hauled away the old fence and the dirt from the post holes. We had a good experience the whole way through. read more

Our Salesperson was great. The issue occured with the installation. We were told that the install was going to take one day they came on Saturday took part of our fence down put part of the new fence up. Told us they would be back the next day they never showed up we waited around we called the office our sales person trying to figure out what was going on because now our yard and our neighbor's yard was exposed. Both houses have dogs that need to be confined in the backyard. Needless to say after multiple emails phone calls I still never received any reason why we were told one thing and a job that was supposed to be a one day job now took 3 days. There is a current Gap in our back fencing I do not recommend using ameridream at all. read more
