We just had a fence put in after a storm knocked down a number of sections and they not only gave us a good quote, but they installed it when the weather was really cold and gross when they could've easily pushed it until the spring. As a whole the fence felt like a great price given that they had to haul away the old fence, it looks great, and our dogs can finally go in the yard without us worrying that a section will fall and they'll escape... because they are escape artists. Highly recommend them if you're in the area - I'm always hesitant on bigger projects but they did a great job and it's family owned which I always love to support. read more

Horrible company, this company has lots of bad reviews on other apps as well (Nextdoor App). Their workmanship is horrible, they had to keep coming back to adjust my gate. They didn't dig deep enough to set my fence pole 5x5 so the concrete is showing looks terrible. I called to complain that's as good as it gets I was told. It was a $5000.00 mistake. We're supposed to be scheduled for the fence installation the week of May 5 and we never received confirmation the work was getting done so we called to see what was going on to find out the work is delayed and again nobody told us anything and even worse at this point they do not know how long it will be until they can actually install the fence. Absolutely terrible! Still waiting for this company to finish our fence. It's been since March. They took gates to repair and have not returned. Given excuses like; truck broke down, weather isn't up to crew coming out. It's really sad we have our $ in good faith yet they can't finish in good faith. i was not happy with the quality of the fence install in May 2025. had to have them comeback out to fix planks that were cracked, old, and rusty, and I am still waiting for the missed planks of which no response. our HOA only allows one type of fence and several of my neighbors have recent had fences installed and our fences material does not look the same. very disappointed. If I have to hire Northwest or Superior to come fix the problem I will seek legal services to recoupe the cost for repairs to my fence. read more

I had a few estimates prior to meeting Tom, my salesman and he was great. The sales consultation, price and installation were heads above the rest and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Cedar Mountain. However, once we met the previous owner who gave us the quote, I was impressed by the professionalism, knowledge, patience, and flexibility. They handle the permit, removing the dirt, and every other part of the process making it extremely easy on our end. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GET THEIR FENCE DONE BY THIS COMPANY. I am not 1 to complain or write bad reviews but this company right here deserves this horrible review. Let me begin by saying they promise you what you want but dont deliver what has been promised. I paid 8,000 plus dollars for my fence that took them nearly 4 months to put up. Trust me when I say I get that companies do get busy and i totally understand it but not once have they called to let me know that they are running a little behind and to assure it was going to get done for me not to have my stomach in knots that they took my deposit and ran with it. Its going on 3 years since I've had the fence I already had to screw on panels that have been loosened because they used very little nails and they started to buckle and pop off within the first couple months. They installed gates with NO HANDLE so you have install that yourself I guess because it doesn't make any sense to install handles for you to close the gate behind you ? A section of my property now has a slanted section because of how they installed the paneled fence. Also installed a gate with 2 openings so I can drive my car into the yard area and 1 post is much higher than the other. Last but not least today a very windy day my gate panel flew off. I have called this company and expressed my issues various times to try and fix the issues as well as asked to speak with the owner and til this day I've never ever received a call back. I feel robbed and very unsatisfied with their work. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND STRESS AND GO ELSEWHERE!!!! P.s I've attached the gate panel that flew off today. read more

We reached out to Cedar Mountain late in the year and they were able to get us our fence within just a few weeks. We were thrilled - especially to use a family owned business! The installers showed up when they were supposed to and we had the fence we wanted just in time for the winter freezes. I can only give two stars because the installers had ZERO respect for our yard or property in the process. They came on a day when the yard was wet so of course we expect things to be muddy. But they left huge clumps of muddy clay all over the yard, muddy clumpy footprints all over our driveway, porch and stoop. They walked through our landscaping on the way to the hose (no where close to the fence), they ripped up tall grasses without talking to us. They also smoked weed against our house and our garage smelled like pot for a few days after. The worst part was that our sales guy never followed up after installation to ask how things went or if we were satisfied. I would have loved a chance to talk it out before leaving a review but terrible customer service once they had their check. Overall, don't recommend. read more

I spoke with a girl and she gave me their availability- Friday June 8 @ 9am. I booked it and she called on Thursday, left a v.m for a return call to confirm- which I did. She said I was all set and confirmed again Friday June 8 @ 9. I waited and waited and after 15 minutes grew irritated but 30 minutes later, I was over it- such a lack of professionalism and consideration for someone's time. Really hate to leave a negative review for a locally owned company like this but I can't recommend working with them. We had a vinyl fence installed this past December, and while the fence itself is mostly good, communication and responsiveness have been a headache from the start. It takes 3-4 attempts and usually a week or more to get a response from the owners. Both of the gates they installed have had problems soon after installation. One was fixed after many requests, the other is still awaiting repair, and I don't feel I should need to harass someone for months for what I believe will be a quick and simple follow-up, especially since I already referred my neighbor to the company. In retrospect, knowing what I know now, I would have chosen a different company even if it cost a bit more. read more

We had a smooth experience in setting up a quote, signing a contract and getting an estimated date of installation. However, our fence was delayed by a month because of a discrepancy between Cedar Mountain and my town village, whom had accused CM of improper installation of a fence in the past + was claiming past due fees owed to them. Now, once I found out about this weeks after getting no response from my village on my permit status, it was nightmare for a couple of weeks. Every day was a new phone call either to CM or to my village, which were both accusing the other of being wrong, and my village wouldn't give me a fence permit until CM paid these fees, which were around $2k. I am taking a star off for this experience. I do not think it was all CM's fault, but I do think that both my village and CM were tossing me around for a few weeks there and ultimately, I should have been made aware of this issue or given a warning when I signed the contract. However, they eventually got the permit and ended up in my backyard, and we absolutely love our fence! It is beautiful. We have been waiting a long time for our golden retriever to finally have this free land to run around in- thank you Cedar Mountain! read more

Worst experience ever and if something goes wrong they will ghost you. I moved in the middle of winter and Cedar Mountain Fence stated they would help obtain permits and arrange for "Julie" to come out. They pretended to have requested permits but were never obtained and County is now asking for fence to be removed due to FEMA regulations, which was all new to us. After contacting them they tried to apply for the permit of which was denied. I am stuck with a $5000 fence and $2000 extra cost to remove. Now they do not answer or return my calls. They deliberately lied and went on installing a fence that they knew could not be installed in flood areas. read more

On a day crew of 4 came in and within 3-4 hrs completed fence demolition, cement concert work and installation of fence. I was expecting after cemented on next day fence would be installed. After completion crew left the premises without even letting us know. We were expecting someone to call or review the job completion, etc. Upon calling multiple times and emailing, no responses. They deducted my full payment right on the day of installation. Now I am finding out that they left debris, tree branches, etc on my backyard. Were 20 min from this places location and it seems that a 150-250ft x 7ft tall fence is to small of a job for them. I now dont get any call backs or any communication from them. Cedar Mountain was to put up a fence for my neighbor, they also were to put up an adjoining fence to my yard. Original price quote was 490 dollars for a 6ft high 15 ft long to my yard. I did not want a 6ft fence I wanted a 4ft fence. Called multiple times to get them to discuss, and they never answered. The original 4ft fence was on my property. They came and illegally put the fence on my property without my written consent. And they did not put up the adjoining fence to my yard. So I asked the owner to come out and discuss, He then quoted me 750 dollars for a 4ft fence, and refused to move the fence that was on my property to where it should have been. I called to schedule an estimate and left a message in January 2022. No response. Customer Service Score - 0. I followed up and left another message 2 weeks later, finally on 2/2/22 someone called back to schedule the appointment. My appointment was supposed to be 2/9/22 @ 11:15 am with Steve G, I waited until 11:40, called their number, chose option 1 (estimate appointments) and of course, left a message. I called back at 11:51, this time pressing option 2 (existing customers). I spoke with some twit that must be tired of complaining customers because she continually cut me off as I was speaking. I then tried to call Steve at 11:53, the call went to voicemail....of course it did. I followed up with 2 texts at 11:55 and finally at 12:16 Steve-O responded. Says he's sick, most likely Covid (such a great response these days) and that I should call Cedar Mountain back to reschedule. You're kidding me, right? Again, Professionalism Score - 0, Customer Service Score - 0. These scores would most likely carry through to the quality of their product and installation experience. This company came as a referral from my son and his wife. I really wanted to believe they were a good company. They are not. Yelp shows Cedar Mountain with a 2.5-star rating. Read the reviews. Please don't hire this company. Here's why. Privacy fence installed January, 2022. The fence was installed incorrectly and on my neighbor's property. The installer did not follow the plat survey I provided. The fence also does not provide the privacy that was needed in the first place because of the misplacement. After several emails and phone calls my salesman eventually came by and agreed changes need to be made. It's March 2022 and still no word from this company if and when this will take place. I was disappointed that after a day one of the the pieces of wood broke, it took forever to get someone out to fix it. Which after spending that much money you would think it wouldn't be that difficult. That being said I can get over that. What is upsetting to me is that they didn't even finish my mom's job. So even though I had a lower quote from a different company , I decided to go with them hoping for a good experience. It has been anything BUT good! ***I contacted them asking what I needed to do/approx install date and did not hear back from them until I contacted them again a few days later. ***I was contacted on a Friday at 1pm and asked how I was going to pay the remainder balance, I told them I'd get back to them I was working and the office staff told me if I didn't tell them by 4 pm that day my fence wouldn't be getting done on Tuesday. I told them I didn't get off work until 730pm and I don't have internet access this is ridiculous and the lady changed her tune and said to let them know by Monday ***Before construction of my fence I specifically asked my fence be put out towards my property line more because my current one had 1-3 feet additional yard in each direction, I was told yes but here now I have an even smaller yard And was not consulted Or notified they would be doing so *** fence crew left mud and plastic garbage throughout my yard and also looks like they stepped all over a few of my plants. Approximately two weeks ago I scheduled an appointment with Cedar Mountain Fence Company. I called the company the morning of the appointment to confirm it. The scheduler confirmed my appointment. I waited an hour after the scheduled appointment before I called the office to state that the estimator never showed. STEVE, the OWNER, of the company did not call or show up for the appointment. There are other complaints posted on this site from people who experienced the same behavior on the part of Cedar Mountain's estimators. We had a vinyl fence installed installed about 3 weeks ago and we are very unhappy with the gates (we have 3) They swing the opposite way we had before and the lock is on the outside and not in the yard. We have tried calling and leaving messages and no one is calling back. After spend almost 9k on a fence, I would expect a little better customer service. If you are looking for a fence, I would look elsewhere. The men that installed our fence left holes in our yard that we had to fill ourselves and about 15 5" nails that they used to mark the lot were left in the grass and in my neighbor's lawn.
