The best place to camp ever. If you are looking for a hidden gem this is it! The beaches are amazing and you can truly relax at the most peaceful place in NC. We were there last month and heading there again this weekend. You won't be disappointed. Check out my pictures to see the campsite and the beaches.

Jessica (Manager)works hard but sometimes people need help running a place. She seemed to be trying to serve food, rents golf carts, take phone calls, work on water issues and gas up golf carts as needed. No time to clean , or provide info to renters. The RV campsite needs tons of help! Bathhouse, if you can get into it is dirty ( had to request a code to enter, should have been provided when we arrived), well water stops when too many campers use the water ( note ,very few campers during our visit), no WiFi, one restaurant which opens around lunch time, ugly old rundown motel in front seems to be used for storage, sadly this mess has been in place for four plus years, see photo. Beach is nice but I would suggest getting in the ferry line, visit the beach and leave. ,

I wouldn't stay here again unless my life literally depended on it. First off, it was raining almost the entire time (I know they can't help that). But it was so ridiculously run down and disgusting. It wasn't until our THIRD day here when someone came to clean the bathrooms. I wouldn't even let my family use the showers because it looked like a great place to catch diseases and tetanus. It was practically abandoned and let's not forget the broken walkway thing behind our campsite! A fantastic opportunity for more tetanus and maybe death. Also the playground looked like it was about to fall over. Additionally we had asked to switch campsites because another one had a better view, but we're told no because "they didn't know when someone might come in." Guess they have no system that tells them when someone is coming and for which site? So we got stuck at the lowest point, meaning we had an ankle deep puddle completely surrounding our camper, almost the entire time. Run far, far away.

Motel RV resort Food by the beach and rentals-- horse riding kayaks and golf carts.

A perfect location, set apart and away from the crowd, a beautiful beach and a short walk to the ferry to Ocracoke Island, NC.

The island itself feels untouched and magical, with wide stretches of soft sand, sweeping dunes, and the sound of the surf setting a perfect rhythm for the ride. The horses were beautifully trained--attentive, responsive, and clearly well cared for--which made the experience feel both safe and exhilarating. Devon was an exceptional guide: knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about the island's history and ecology. Her easygoing confidence allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the scenery. This is a must‑do experience for any coastal adventurer.

If you want something more than that you'll be disappointed. I'm an equestrian and thought being on the beach would be fun. Not! You have to stay at the walk. The horse handed me was their lead horse ergo wanted to be in the lead. The owner kept telling me to not get ahead of her. I circled all the way to the back of the herd. Guess. My horse went into the trot on his own so I posted and got my hand popped. That horse was in tune with me and wanted to stretch his legs on that beach, but that was not allowed. I understand about liability, but I signed a waiver. Every time we got a length ahead she wanted me to stop. My horse knew Whoa! and 3rd position! That horse had never heard "eeeeeaaazzzzy" or just wasn't feeling it. It was just frustrating and boring. It was a waste of $150 plus a $20 tip plus gas to drive to the end of the world. Speaking of, there are NO gas stations. Gas up and pee before you head there. Glad we did.
