Had to back out of a pull through spot to be able to get out of park without scratching the rv with tree limbs over the road. To top it off the lawn guys just threw grass clippings all over our stuff and when asked about blowing it off I was told it wasn't policy . They had events but never told anyone about them. Overall unless you're setting up a permanent rv they could care less about you.

They were open late enough that we could get there in time and it had just the basic space and a bathroom nearby available. This is the nicest park with great amenities, great management and wonderful campers! Now, we all know that there will be a bad apple in every bunch and we all know that changes are made every year. It's those changes that seem to rile people up. If you come with goodness in your heart and abide by the rules, usually you will not have a problem. This is not a party life RV park, this is a family oriented park. Please try us out, look at the RV'S and Park Models we have for sale and then look at the hugh expansion we have just recently finished. What a wonderful place to be!!

Stay away from Dogwood Family Campground. I was recently there for almost 3 weeks. First the…read moregood, its a new campground well laid out, gravel everywhere, owners are friendly. But that is about it for the good. Now for the bad. Their wifi is spotty at best, i believe this is due to the proximity to the radar at Cherry Point Air Station. But also i had extremely poor cell phone communications the entire time at Dogwood, and on Christmas day i had to leave my camper, leave the campground and go down the road closer to newport to be able to have a cell call with my daughter. Also i have cancer and find out that my doctors have been calling me but i was not receiving cell calls. I have AT&T as my carrier, but i went into the office to complain and they said they are aware of the problem, with only saying try wifi calling. Also if the internet is key to ur stay, they have a firewall setup that rejects websites and even google searches, so if internet, wifi, and cell reception are important to u, then stay away from Dogwood. Also the location is by a curve n people go really fast there so pulling out onto lake road can be challenging and dangerous. Next the garbage dumpster is at the back of the campground, n not really walking distance. Finally there is no bath house on the campground which was a shock as almist all campgrounds have their own bathroom house. This affected myself as my shower in my rv was not working. So all in all i was very disappointed.

Not as clean in the bathrooms, wifi consistently not working properly. This third time on our visit bathrooms very dirty with trash cans over flowing with trash, usually only cold water in showers and AC on too cold. Wifi not working and my spouse couldn't connect for work, so we had to use wifi elsewhere. I don't know if we will be back for a 4th time. This is ridiculous how bad it's going. Bathrooms shouldn't be this dirty and not cleaned on a daily or every other day basis. Especially for what we pay. Also, hardly ever any warm or hot water. Then the AC is on high. It's freezing and very uncomfortable to enjoy the facilities.

Called front desk twice and left messages for which no one has returned a call. Drive to front desk to have them send an electrician to the site to check the box. Electrician changed out the burnt breaker and stated that we would need a new cord. Went to office to see how they were going to help with what was their breaker box that caused the issue. The manager stated that we would just have to deal with our insurance company for any compensation. So sad how the reputation of this compound has deteriorated over the past year.

Nasty campground, nasty owner, nasty overall conditions…read more (Very unkept, deteriorating boats/RV's stored in plain site, half-started construction projects, vagabond elements, noisy bridge traffic, dirty, etc, etc....) There's a reason he has a strict no-refund policy. We made the mistake of paying up-front before we saw the place, and then it was too late. No refunds despite a complete mismatch between his fake pictures and the reality once you arrive. We finally just left early... Life is too short to spend another minute in this nasty environment...
