I used to trust Dr. Harris with my family's care, but my experience following a recent adjustment has left me deeply concerned and disappointed. After a routine adjustment in March, I suffered a stroke caused by a vertebral artery dissection--something the medical professionals treating me believe resulted from that adjustment. I have no family history or risk factors for stroke. I am only 35 years old, with a husband and five children, and the impact this has had on my health (mental and physical), independence, and family life has been life-altering. What's even more troubling is what followed the extremely painful neck adjustment. Dr. Harris performed stroke assessments immediately after the adjustment because of the pain it caused but failed to document this in my medical records. When I asked for a transparent explanation and a complete record of that visit, I was told I would not receive any further written communication. Despite our long-standing patient-provider relationship, my concerns were met with dismissal and a refusal to take responsibility or engage in meaningful conversation. This experience has been not only traumatic and life altering but deeply disappointing coming from someone I once trusted with my health. I share this in hopes that others will seriously consider both the risks involved and the response I received before seeking care here. The cost for the exam increased after the fact once they found out I had insurance. No information on the cost of a basic adjustment, everything is focused on getting you into a treatment program of multiple visits per week. I asked continually how much an adjustment costs and the response was that you will find out after your consultation. Come to find out the adjustments are not hands on manipulation but use some clicker tool. After going through the process and not even getting a real adjustment I felt like I had been robbed and couldn't do anything about it. Hopefully this will save someone else the trouble.
