For the last few months everything I look at, or comes up on my phone, has been ones and twos, mostly 1s. When I pick up my phone to check the time it is often 11:11 or 10:11 or 10:10 AM or PM. I had to meet someone. She told me to go to 111 11th St. I'm not a bit superstitious. Miles Massage is 116 11th St. What the heck, I'll try them. I made an appointment with Jennifer. She knew exactly what my leg needed. It was painful but I have been going twice a week and my leg is better and less painful. I will eventually get that 'nice soft rubbing massage'. Try them. After a routine adjustment in March, I suffered a stroke caused by a vertebral artery dissection--something the medical professionals treating me believe resulted from that adjustment. I have no family history or risk factors for stroke. I am only 35 years old, with a husband and five children, and the impact this has had on my health (mental and physical), independence, and family life has been life-altering. What's even more troubling is what followed the extremely painful neck adjustment. Dr. Harris performed stroke assessments immediately after the adjustment because of the pain it caused but failed to document this in my medical records. When I asked for a transparent explanation and a complete record of that visit, I was told I would not receive any further written communication. Despite our long-standing patient-provider relationship, my concerns were met with dismissal and a refusal to take responsibility or engage in meaningful conversation.
