Really upset they towed 4 of my families cars who was here for a memorial for a family member who passed away without geting no warning notice on the car they called a expensive tow company who made them all pay $600 to get out. These apartments suck they don't want u to have no visitors over which is messed up be careful everyone. Security was a pervert too. read more

My Mom lived at this apartment since 1991 and just passed away a month ago! :( She was always pleased and happy with this complex. They had the best service in assisting her in any possible way. Whatever needed an attention or fixing, they would take care of it promptly. In terms of annual building maintenance, they're always on top of painting, replacing windows, doors, and their lush/clean landscape. Pool area clean and safe. Special gratitudes to all the staff and the management team. Keep up the great work! With Regards, Maryam on Belfast of my lovely Mom (Mahbobeh A). read more

Let me start off by saying that I'm a veteran with housing, and these ppl made every month a living hell. I'm upset because I dedicated my life in service to the country only to come home to the rudeness here. No respect or sense of awareness. It's a laid back place to live but the office is slow and pretty rude, and unfair and prejudice for no apparent reason. We worked on a lease renewal lease for about 3 months with one thing after another. It got to the point of us deciding to find somewhere else to live. They don't do any leg work. The office is always closed with special hours. Apparently office visits are appointment only, on the days that they are "open". You'll basically have to move yourself in or out, and then they'll join at the end and act as if they helped. We had to deal with Sandra, an older entitled feeling woman who just was allergic to doing any work. She prides herself on being snobby and ending conversations with clients by being an ass. Doesn't listen. Doesn't help. It often got to the point of loud office yelling in front of other ppl. I didn't like or appreciate that. There is another manager there who deals with clients better, but I wasn't lucky enough to get her at first. We had to call and email the crap out of Allison at corporate just to get a response and to get the ball rolling on our application. After months of back and forth arguing we decided to leave. Deposit to move in was 500 and they sent an invoice and still tried to charge 1000 to paint a wall, claiming it smelled of cigarettes when I don't even smoke. Calm place, terrible office. I would love to give no stars on the customer service alone. And to be transparent, I did become rude back with them after a few months, which I regret because that's not me. But I stand by it read more

I've lived here for almost two years now, I've moved around a lot over the years and have come to know when you've arrived at a good place. First it's a safe neighborhood, because we only have one way in and out, you don't get random people walking through the neighborhood. Also because the parking spots are so open, you don't get people breaking into cars because everything is so well lit and visible. (I lived in a place with closed lots, I had a lot of break ins at a past location). The walls aren't thin, you rarely hear your neighbor make any noise. The majority of neighbors are very respectful of each other and don't cause drama. Locations wise, it's a 7 minute walk to the prune yard or Philz coffee, plenty of places to eat. I really do love the gardening maintenance this place has too, they do an amazing job. It's actually very green, lots of trees, grass is always nice. The complex is kept very clean. It's dog friendly of course, my dog loves it. The manager Desiree is amazing, she's the kind of person you want. When I've had an issue with neighbors or maintenance I've emailed or called Desiree and she's taken care of it professionally. It seems to me that if you're the kind of person that wants to cause trouble, you aren't going to like Desiree. Desiree is very understanding, and willing to help residents. I've had Zero issues with management. I really do like cedar glen, It can get pretty crowded in the Bay Area but cedar glen is a hidden gem, definitely love it here. read more

We lived in this complex for almost 10 years. Why? Affordability & location. Let's start with the good shall we. We had a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom upstairs unit. The "master" bedroom was very big and had a walk-in closet. The second room was big enough, nothing special. Typical bathroom, living room & kitchen. For the most part the office leaves you alone. There was a lot of staff changes throughout our time there. Desiree was the property manager for most of our time there, when she unfortunately left they had a few more but no one stayed. Tbh idk if they even had one cause you never saw them if they did. Let's do the bad.. parking. It is a huge complex, there are about 6 visitor spots? If you want your friends/family over, good luck. There were people saving spaces by standing in the spot not letting anyone park. Parking is a nightmare. There was a Sandy & a Sandra in the office, the blonde one was so frustrating to deal with, idk if she's still there or not. So to me affordability & location are important and we just dealt with the rest of it. read more

I lived there almost 4 years in living was hell there the office people keep on changing and the manager who is now in charge is racist she only likes certain kind of race every time you complained about something that they need to do they never do there's a lot of people at night partying all night long and security is into things and even when you complain the office they don't do nothing but I did have a very nice couple of neighbors but I had one rude one upstairs but one thing is the maintenance guys there are the nicest guys there they should be running this apartment complex and when there's parking spots you can only have two cars some people have three cars parking with no stickers and they don't check and the main pool is right next to the office and they don't care if people play loud music they don't come out when you're not supposed to play music and let kids run around and I've seen a lot of people jump over the fence to get into the pool at night and during the day and another thing is the garbage area people dump and don't even throw s*** in the garbage can in my suggestion is for people do not rent at this place because they have rude people in the office and the rents ridiculous when everything is old in the apartments and they expect you to clean the carpet when you move out but when you moved in the carpet was so dirty and you will not get your deposit back don't move there people read more

Lived here for a couple of years. It was better in the beginning and now it's gone down hill. Parking is terrible, especially for such a huge complex, only a few visitor parkings. Trash is left everywhere. Whoever does the landscaping is horrible. Sandy was terrible, glad she's gone. Jessie, the bigger maintenance guy thinks he runs the apartments. He's nosy, gets in everybodys business. He's very rude and unprofessional. He harasses anyone that gets in his way, be aware. He also targets residents if he doesn't like you. Everyone has their dogs off leash and they go missing and they wonder why. Just way too over priced. read more

I have been living here for 3 years with my family, very convenient area, park on site for kids. However the ladies at the office are very unprofessional, rude, races. They prohibited my father to speak Spanish at the office. Parking lot is not safe at all, our vehicle has been broken into/broken windows. Stuff from our porch has been stolen. Laundry rooms are rarely clean. One of our neighbors threatened me and my family and another tenant with killing, threatening to get physical, hitting our car windows. While my 4 year old son was present and traumatized do to that incident. Cops were called and report was made and office staff did not do anything about the situation. Violent tenant is still living in Cedar Glen Apartments. Office staff almost never answers phone calls when in need of them. read more

It has been good living at this complex for more than 10 years now. The current (and past) staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating to different schedules and disabilities. When we first moved here, it was mostly older people and families. More recently, it seems younger, single people are moving in. This is not to say that there haven't been "bad" neighbors who don't care about the rules, or anyone else's right to enjoy the community. We've had noisy neighbors but the staff has been able to eventually change that behavior or the neighbors figure out quickly that this is not the right community for them and leave. We've been fortunate for the most part not to have bad experiences with neighbors. Pros: On-site laundry 24-hour Maintenance Support Park and Pools Online Rent Payment Overnight Security Smoke-Free Campus Caring Staff Well kept grounds Close to shops and restaurants Cons: Not a lot of parking for visitors Only 2 car spaces per household (luckily I only needed 1) This is not really a complex that can accommodate a lot of visitors or parties if that is important to you. Windows only on one side so no cross-breeze. The following are really just discourteous people that may or may not live in the complex and really isn't the complex's fault, they do work at having a peaceful community which is important to me... Rule breakers who smoke, I have severe allergies to tobacco People who blast music while driving through - even at 2 am Overall, I'd recommend at least checking it out to see if it's right for you/your family. read more

I've been living here for five years and recently it's gotten pretty ghetto to be honest. I don't know if there not doing appropriate background checks and just letting anyone rent or what is going on. Literally every day people are throwing parties in the pool. That's fine if you wanna have guest but since the pool opens till it closes at 10 pm the music is loud and non stop. I know they don't all live here because I see them leave. All they do is drink and yell excessively. It's extremely annoying the worst part is the security sucks! They don't come till 9pm an hour before the pool closes. I can't even take my kids into the pool because these people literally invite there whole family and just stay in the pool so there isn't any room for the rest. Before management was on top of everything I don't know what has happened. I'm considering moving when my lease is up. read more

RIP OFF. RIP OFF. RIP OFF My son searched and searched cool or a new look ace to live. We checked out CEDAR GLEN. Liked it. I told JUSTINE that my credit was bad and she told me we can work with you. Then my son and I applied we paid our fees. My son and I were denied 2 weeks ago because of my credit. Liars. They don't work with you. Then was told by SANDY I would receive a letter why we were denied and my check of $150(deposit) in the mail two weeks ago. Still nothing as of today 5/22/19. I called and left 3 messages with answering service. Class were never returned I just called and spoke with MORGAN. I explain check and letter situation. Mind you I never gave my name. She proceeded to it me on hold and came back and said the check was mailed out I then asked about the letter of denial she said that was mailed along with the check. That they don't handle the letters. I asked her when it was mailed and I heard her ask somebody and they said yesterday (5-21-29). F**K THIS PLACE. and MORGAN told me They are worthy of no stars. My wife and I rented here while our home was getting ready. It was a nightmare. This place is so loud. Motorcycles drive in with very loud mufflers. Cars driving in with loud ghetto music. Taking a shower was terrible. All these little fish bugs would come out of the drain. My wife was horrified. Then our cereal and food in the cabinets had cock roaches. It was disgusting. We were so happy we only stayed a month. The manager and people that work there. Lie. I had to call there corporate headquarters. They seemed upset with them as well. Don't even think of renting here. It's very bad. Police coming in all the time. read more

The manager runs the place like it's a prison. Tow trucks are always hauling away vehicles. Visitors parking is extremely limited and I had my guess vehicles ticketed or hauled away. No BBQ is even allowed on your own patio. And if you have a guest over to go swimming at the pool you have to be present with them the whole entire time. Can't even have guest show up with their pet to your apartment. This place is not worth staying at. Trust me. read more

* = Competitively priced, semi-modern units * = Hard-working super with great team * = Wonderful area near Pruneyard * = Lots of community activities, for kids and families * = No-hassle upon moving out My previous review (as a current resident) goes more in-depth on the features of the community. This review is more of a looking-back-as-a-former-resident kinda thing. When we first toured Cedar Glen Apartments, we loved how close it was to the Pruneyard shopping center. We also loved the vaulted ceilings in the common area and the price (which was very competitive, in 2012, compared to our last complex, in Santa Clara). Our time at Cedar Glen was very enjoyable, but not without its' hiccups. The worst incident came about 2-years into our stay. The unit beneath us belonged to a young couple. They got into a fight. My understanding was, he was an unemployed dirtbag in a band and she was an overworked groupy housing and feeding him. She told him she wanted her car returned to her, since they were breaking up. What ended up happening was: he drove her Ford Mustang into the complex parking lot at 3 AM, hopped it up over the curb, slowly drove it onto the front lawn (near 4 units, including ours), and then jammed the horn on. If you've never awoken to the sound of a car horn on full blast, 10-feet from your bed, at all hours of the night... let me just tell you, it's a bit of a religious experience. Naturally, the coward had already ran to his buddy's truck (who was waiting on the curb) and made a hasty escape, so the neighbors couldn't give him the tune-up he so desperately deserved. Anyway, that girl moved out within the month and we never had anything else like that happen. We did have one other weird incident though. The complex always had rumors about thieves and home-invaders. We never crossed paths with any of them. But one morning, my wife goes to check the outdoor plants and notices that our door is pushed inward, like someone was trying to kick it in. Our tomato plants (which we kept on the porch) were ransacked and there was dirt all over our porch. Our floor mat was tossed aside. It was very clear to me: someone that previous night was looking for a spare key and when that didn't work, they tried forcing the door open. The weird thing was: they left a swearshirt, a pair of glasses, and a cheap, plastic watch on our porch. So either it was a homeless person with mental problems, or it was a drunk guy who mistook our unit for his... because I don't think an actual thief would leave so much evidence behind. We never reported it or anything, but I think it's worth mentioning. Also... like a lot of apartment complexes, our unit was furnished with lights, knobs, spouts, and appliances from roughly 20 years prior. We would deal with leaky faucets or dim, old light fixtures... and the minute something would break, the apartment would upgrade us to something that was clearly MUCH newer. I get that it's a business, it's not UNICEF... but still. It just irks you, knowing that these guys HAVE working AC units, lights, and sinks... they just wait until yours is literally unusable before they let you have them. The horror stories about the office are not exaggerations, either. While I never had a bad experience with Desiree, her staff of minions were an ever-revolving door of snarky, neck snapping women who never hid their disdain for you in the event that you needed them to get off their asses and do some actual work. As a default, these people always try to convince you to go home and come back later, when they're not on shift. Very rarely would you encounter anyone helpful... and when you did, they were usually gone within a couple months. And, lastly: our water was turned off, without notice, for 30 minutes on a Saturday. My wife was in the shower, covered in soap. I ran down to the office to report it and the front desk lady looked caught. She said she "tried to call" all the units to warn us, as the super was replacing someone's shower head and needed to turn the water off. We didn't have any missed calls. And also: that's not legal. You need to give 24-hours' notice, not 10-minute's notice. Only happened once, but it was absolutely maddening. That being said: we got our entire security deposit back, hassle-free, upon move out. Our next door neighbors were wonderful people. The community was terrific. And I smoked the WHOLE time I was there and nobody ever pounded on my door or left any warnings about it. I reiterate my thesis from the previous review: if you're saving for a house and need a convenient, low-cost base of operations for a few years, you could do much worse than Cedar Glen. read more

Recently has gone down hill. Under the new management, they do not seem to be doing checks on the number of people living in the apartments. Multiple families in the same apartment. The security walks around but doesn't do anything about after hours noise or smoking on-site either. Now you have visitors coming in and out, parking wherever they want without a permit and smoking in their units. Its a beautiful complex and can be well kept, boy tenant rights are often violated. There was no sympathy during the lockdown either. Families pushed out if they couldn't pay due to job loss. read more

I moved into a shared apartment in this complex in February 2014 and am a current resident here! I have really enjoyed living in this complex for multiple reasons. First, the atmosphere is quiet, pleasant, and safe; the grounds are well kept as are the community areas like the swimming pool and laundry rooms. Secondly, it is close to local shopping areas such as the Pruneyard and local grocery stores. Third, the staff here are professional and do their best to make sure that your needs are met and questions are answered as soon as possible. Desiree and the office personnel are pleasant, professional people, and the maintenance crew is prompt and completes the requests thoroughly. I recently downsized from a two bedroom to a one bedroom in this complex and am thoroughly satisfied with the constant communication and professionalism of everyone involved in this process. Thank you so much Desiree, Lorena, Cassandra, and the maintenance crew of Cedar Glen for your work in making the Cedar Glen Apartment complex a great place to live! read more

Ohhhh I have been waiting forever to write this review. Because I was scared they would treat me poorly (trust me, they would) while I still lived there, I waited until we finally moved out. To be fair, I will first list the pros of living here: The Location. It's really great. Centrally located to Campbell, and within walking distance of the Pruneyard. However, don't let them fool you saying its a Campbell address, as it is NOT. Your children cannot go to Campbell school district, and you cannot even do something as simple as get a Campbell library card. You also will not get the Campbell PD (which is much more efficient than SJPD) if you call 911. Somehow the property is able to list the address as Campbell, essentially listing them for much higher rent than SJ. It's a scam. The rent is not "BAD." But it's not good either. As of now, they are charging $1700 for a one bedroom. It's small, outdated, and to deal with the rest of what I'm going to tell you, seems highly unreasonable. But hey, if you're really broke, then the price might be worth it. The maintenance guy, Cory, is amazing. I think he's a great guy, completely trustworthy, and will get your issues taken care of. The hard part is getting your requests escalated to him. We learned quickly to find him ourselves instead of going through the front office. CONS: The rest of the staff. They are horrible. I echo everyone else's sentiment about them. Desiree is the worst apartment manager I've ever come in contact with. She refuses to even address ANY issue, no matter how big or small. She will ignore call after call, email after email, and the other ladies in the office will tell you she's not there, when she is. All of this has actually happened to us. As far as the other staff, Luva or Luba (white Russian woman), is by far the WORST employee I've EVER met in a customer service position. She hates everyone, is rude to everyone, and completely could care less about the world. I saw her YELL at a special needs child on one occasion, and it made me cry for him. When I came in the office with a personal injury, she sat at her desk and applied lipstick with her compact mirror. She is the worst excuse for an employee I've ever seen. I have also had incidences where both her and Laura (the other woman in the office) literally yelled at my guests. It was embarrassing, uncalled for, and completely rude. We also had them call us on more than one occasion telling us we had to move our cars (middle of the day) because they were going to trim trees around it. There were no signs not to park, nothing handed out to us telling us not to park in specific spots. Just "come home now and move your car or it could be damaged." The amenities? Is that a joke? On more than one holiday weekend, the pools were somehow "forgotten" to be unlocked. You cannot call anyone to help you, there is no one. And when they do unlock the gates on weekends, it literally appears that busloads of children come in unattended. There will be one parent with 10 kids that don't live in the complex. Not to mention, don't plan on having any sort of food, any sort of drink, any sort of music (no matter how quiet), any sort of pool toy, or any un-pre-approved gear at the pool. They are like hunting dogs. They come out of nowhere and make you leave the pool. I've seen Luba yell at people for throwing a football around at the pool, with NO OTHER GUESTS around. Seriously. And don't get me started on the "hot tub." It hardly ever works, and is almost always "under construction." The Parking. Is. Ridiculous. Do not ever plan to have a guest here, it is impossible. Not to mention, that they will tow cars even after they tell you it's okay to park. We were told by Laura that we could have guests park until 6pm in any open spot. When I returned with a friend, her car had been towed. Desiree told me that they needed the spot for the Blood Drive (that had not been advertised), so they towed it. Simple as that. She said that although we had been told it was okay to do, it was a convenience, not a guarantee. It would have been nice if they said that from the beginning. Your rent will automatically increase with a new lease, no questions asked. It doesn't matter if you've been a good tenant or not, it's going up. Substantially. If you do decide to move in, one thing I'd check is the air conditioning unit. They are mostly all old and don't work. Once you're in, they will tell you they cannot replace it, that it's just the high ceilings making it hot inside. Maybe you'll get lucky and get a new one before move-in. You will definitely not get your deposit back, which we expected. Somehow they even found a $5 charge to even it out to the EXACT number of our deposit. Shocking. Overall, I just would steer clear of this complex. The staff is the worst part about it, and to deal with rude people day in and day out is just not worth it read more

This is a good apartment complex, but it leaves a LOT to be desired in many areas. I am a current resident of Cedar Glen Apartments on Bascom Avenue in Campbell. From the outside, this apartment complex appears to be a normal, quiet group of apartments with manicured gardens and high-quality amenities. Well, that's only partially right. With the recent housing downturn, rents are on the rise. Cedar Glen is slightly less expensive that its competitors in the area, but you get what you pay for. The location is a definite plus. Living here, I am located just 4 blocks from the Prune Yard, about 1.5 miles from beautiful downtown Campbell, and a stone's throw from highways 17 and 280. There is also the Los Gatos Creek Trail (about 1 5 minute bike ride) which I often use as a springboard for road bike and mountain bike rides. One downfall is the parking. With over 200 units, this is definitely a LARGE apartment complex. There are a total of ten (10) guest parking spots. There are not nearly enough for the residents, let alone guests. And if you live in the interior of the complex, it takes up to 5 minutes to walk to street parking on Bascom Avenue, so dinner parties are out of the question. The parking security guards are incredibly strict here in terms of parking enforcement (which is odd, because my car is not very secure - it has been broken into twice!!) The guards tow - often. And if you park in the wrong place, you will find an unsightly and difficult to remove large paper sticker on your windshield warning you about the towing police. Removing these decals can (and often does) cause damage to windshields. The management takes fair care of the grounds. There is not an excess of trash, and the lawns are always green and trimmed. After the strong wind storms each winter, landscapers come through and clean everything up as good as new in just a few days' time. The plants and trees are also very attractive and provide pleasant shade in the summer and greenery in the winter. The residents are a diverse bunch. There are families, bachelors, college kids, young couples, and people of just about every race imaginable. Everyone seems to get along well. One odd thing is that the older Asian population here has taken to walking laps around the larking lot all hours of the day and night, and several of them rummage through the trash. I have nothing against recycling (in fact, large bins are provided, and they are used), but I do not enjoy seeing people rummaging through the trash at my place of residence. I feel that it is a dirty thing to do, and it also brings down the general cleanliness and image of the establishment. Something must be done about it, and soon. It is disgusting. The play areas and swimming pools (there are 2 pools) are clean and safe. Pools are fenced, and the play area is well maintained and clean. I live just outside the play area, and my 4-year-old loves to play on it with the other kids who live here. I enjoy the sounds of them playing in the afternoons. There are a LOT of ants here. A stray piece of chicken left on a countertop is covered with the tiny brown critters in just a couple of hours. They get into everything, and they never go away. I once turned on my shower after returning from a vacation to find the shower head FILLED with dead ants - thousands of them. Nothing has ever been done about this problem. DSL is available on site, as well as cable TV and satellite TV. Dishes are not allowed to be bolted to the walls - you must provide your own stand. Overall, I enjoy living here mostly because it is in a good location and it looks nice. The security guards, the ants, and the trash divers are a definite negative force here, and I don;t know if I would have chosen to live here if I'd known about the m up front - but all in all, it's an OK place to live while I save for a house. read more

Based on a recommendation from a good friend, I decided to give Cedar Glen Apartments a shot. From the moment I arrived for a tour of the property to the moment I moved out, I was treated with friendly professionalism. I really like this place for multiple reasons: *Luba, Laura, and Desiree are all fantastic! Very friendly and very professional! *Price is lower than most "nicer" complexes in the area *Location is awesome! Near LG Creek Trail, Pruneyard, Downtown Campbell, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Campbell Farmers' Market, etc... *Pool and hot tub are great! *No noisy neighbors - quiet at night *Nice apartment layout I would have stayed at this complex longer, but I got a job in the north bay and had to move. One thing to consider - if you have guests coming over on a regular basis, parking can be a little tough. I didn't have many visitors, so it wasn't a major issue for me. I found security to be very friendly and I liked that they had a consistent presence. Some undesirables hang out at the 7-11 around the corner and my apartment was literally the closest one - so security is a good thing. The one area I experienced concern was with my deposit after I moved out. The deposit is low here and all of mine was used up for cleaning and painting after I moved out. At first, I thought I was overcharged for the cleaning and painting, but after speaking with Desiree it all made sense. I recommend Cedar Glen! read more

My wife and I have been living here for a few months now. Like every place, it does have its ups and downs. If you read the lease agreement, which we did, cover to cover, everything is spelled out pretty clearly. They can tow, and DO. Dont test it- its not worth it. The apartments are nice, save for the extreme basic appliances and shoddy cabinet doors. There are two pools and a jacuzzi. Grounds are nice, and so far the people are nice. Several laundry facilities prevent the need for "laundry Nazis", and pets are allowed...a pet. These folks are very BY THE BOOK. If it says so in the lease agreement, that may as well be the word of God. Read it, follow it, OBEY it. Two bad points I will note are 1) Parking for you and your spouse...roommate...is good. Parking for friends or anyone without a permit sucks the big one! Its a crap shoot worse than finding parking on the bottom level at Valley Fair a week before Christmas. its bad! 2) It takes a week + to get something fixed. Ive had the same problem for weeks now and it STILL ISNT FIXED. Now, its entirely possible they've just been backed up and certain circumstances aligned in such a way that the issue wasnt a priority and they had more dire issues to attend to. But an update would have been nice instead of me having to go to them again and again about it. Look, Bottom Line. It's a heck of a lot better than some of the other places around. Management is nice enough and I personally like that we can have gas grills and pets and the complex does have holiday themed events... pumpkin carving, easter egg hunts, etc. Its a nice place and my wife and I are happy here. read more

I am shocked to read all of the negative reviews about this complex-- I moved out a month ago due to relocating for my job. I am heart broken about having to leave this apartment complex as the staff is awesome and my apartment location was prime (on the end and in the back, thus no kids outside). I have lived in 5 other apartments located in the bay area, and I'd like to nominate Cedar Glen as the best by far! I apparently left a necklace on the floor and my shoe rack, Desiree, the property manager left me a kind voicemail that she'll hang on to it for me since they'll be cleaning the apartment for the new tenant. Very honest management and the grounds are extremely clean and safe. Haven't seen anyone mention laundry yet, but their laundry rooms are HUGE and while I was there for two years, I never once had a problem with not being able to do my laundry. The washers and dryers are always vacant. I'll miss you Cedar Glen! read more

Would do 0 stars if there was an option. Lived here for a year. Parking is terrible. Management is terrible. I used to park my motorcycle in my front patio of my apartment to keep it safe from being stolen. My motorcycle was never in anyone's way. I would always turn it off and walk it to my front patio. If I started it, I would make sure to do it on the actual pavement. Management told me I had to move it to my parking spot. What happens... it gets stolen a month later. There is a sign before you enter saying cameras are on the property. When we asked management to look at surveillance, they told us there is only one camera....looking at the manager's parking spot. What a joke. I know the prices are affordable compared to other complexes but look elsewhere please. read more

Overall, this is a pleasant place to live. The apartments are a nice size and the buildings are built well so you don't get much noise from your neighbors. The grounds are very well kept and I never had to wait too long for maintenance. The office staff is pretty helpful too. I would live there again if I were in the area. Like anywhere, it isn't perfect though. I did not appreciate the automatic rent increase when my lease was up, but that is kind of how complexes of this size operate and yes, the visitor parking situation is a joke. The biggest problem is the wild children. Like some other people have said, certain parents in this complex think letting their kids run around unsupervised in the common areas for hours is just fine. They yell at each other, throw things, and leave scooters on the walkways. This goes on daily until dark and sometimes even after that. There are only a few of them causing trouble, but they are brats. read more

Yes, I am a fan. Love the staff and love the location. Even better, I loved the affordable price. They didn't charge pet rent like a lot of places in San Jose. The staff is very friendly, both office and maintenance. The management keeps the complex nice and clean most of the time. The community of people are pretty good except I don't like the laundry room slobs, the dog owners, and the people who think we can't hear their music or noisy cars. Every weekend, uggghh. Absolute pigs. Those people with dogs who let their dog poop on the grass and don't pick that up. Should smear their shit on their doors. It is not the dog's fault but the people. They should be kicked out of the community. We were very lucky to get building 5 in the corner. Great neighbors. We miss them because we moved at the end of December 2015. The parking lot wasn't a problem for 24 months. By the last two months of our stay, the complex filled up and if you didn't get home at a decent hour, no parking. Neighbors and I patrolled the parking lot when we didn't have parking and reported cars so they get towed away if they didn't have permit tag. Close to park which is on the other side of the fence so you got to walk around. Pretty safe neighborhood and great for walks. Not my usual charming review style, but I did have a chance to read the other negative reviews. The management never bothered us and I found them to be very helpful depending on how you treat them. It is all about attitude you have as a tenant and how you treat others. I can relate to some of the complaints other reviewers have posted but i think it comes down to luck and how you attract or deal with negative things. My family and I were happy with Cedar Glen and staff. Yes, the kids were noisy but I dealt with that directly. I found the other tenants were mostly very nice. Like I said, it all depends on how your life is for you. Good, bad, or horrible. I wish we had a bigger place in the complex but the same building location. I am a fan. Thanks Cedar Glen. read more

Keep paying on time rental payment & careless... even emergency. The management team is a racist.! They just need a money. read more

Me again, still here and still happy. Maintenance Miguel replaced our air conditioner yesterday, he did a great job and was very friendly, Veronica helped out and she is so professional, she should get a promotion soon, I hope! I still think Luba (?) and Deseriee are very nice and helpful. New is the company that put a dish on the roof for each building, so no more dish on the patio! Sweet! More visitor parking is all I could ask for. read more

My husband and I wanted to live in the Cambrian school district and this place meet all our needs! Beautiful well kept grounds, remodeled apartment with lots of storage space, and close to great dining and shopping! Sandra and Desire in the front office were so kind, helpful and accommodating. They made us feel welcomed and made our moving experience easy and smooth. read more

This has to be the worst experience I have ever dealt with when trying to find a new residence. I have lived in starter, inexpensive apartments, up to high-end apartments in Southern California and have never had an interaction this poor. It was only the second interaction I have had with Ceder Glen, but it was so negative I knew it would be miserable living there. I took a tour of the apartment complex, told them I wanted it, so they gave me an application. When I dropped off the application only days later, they told me the apartment is now $200 MORE PER MONTH then previously stated!!!! When I told them absolutely not the only response the girl had was "not my fault, you should of put money down on it!" SHE NEVER TOLD ME WHEN I SAID I WANTED IT!! Of course she didn't honor the price like a legitimate business should.. Who does business this way?? There's dozens of apartments in the area; steer clear of this one. read more

Beautifully kept grounds. Quiet, friendly neighbors. Laundry rooms are kept up & clean with a great folding table. Walking distance to downtown Campbell & The Pruneyard. The fitness room has cardio equipment, a fan and cable tv. There are 2 big pools that are super nice to have. There are nice BBQ areas throughout complex. Living here has been a wonderful experience and I'd recommend it to friends and/or family. read more

I have lived here for 18 months and just wanted to comment on what a Great Job the Onsite Manager is doing. Whenever a request is made she responds immediately and rectifies the existing problem. If my last apartment manager was this Good I would not have moved. Thank you for a being so patient in taking cared of our needs as you job must be very demanding at time. Sincerely, Your tenant read more

I have lived in Cedar Glen since November, 2014, going on 4 years now. I owned my own home for 40 years and wasn't sure how I would take to apt living, but have found the staff, the maintenance crew, the pleasant and well maintained grounds, swimming pool and laundry rooms have made this as homey as an apt is likely to be. Lots of plants and grass which is maintained regularly. I recently looked at their website just out of curiosity and I can tell you all that is said there, and the pictures of the grounds and apartments are accurate. I have never had a maintenance issue take more than a few days to get taken care of. Being right on Bascom there is lots of foot traffic, but the security is good. It always feels safe here. The location is good, close to freeways and shopping and downtown Campbell. Yes, there is limited parking which is frustrating, but no fault of the owner or manager, but the result of too many people living in this valley! Many residents I come across at the pool or laundry, etc. have been here for years. The manager provides seasonal gatherings, esp for kids, that bring residents together. I plan, and hope, to be here indefinitely. read more

Dont live here unless you want to get your car towed for no reason and then have to pay $400 to get it out!! On top of that, good luck if you have more than one car in your household trying to find a spot for parking. The management does not take care of simple items that needs fixing and will let a month go by and still no help from them on the fixes. Plus don't even get my started on the sad of an excuse gym, that finally opens by the time a great majority of people are already at work. REDICULOUS!!!! Do they really think that everyone goes to work at 10am?? I don't think so! read more

Don't live here. Can't yelp allow reviewers to give zero stars? The kitchen is tiny, no kitchen cabinet space. Only smaller pots and pans can even fit through the cabinet doors. Visitor parking sucks, which might be okay if you don't have any friends or no one wants to visit you. Management is very nice and pleasant just long enough to get you to sign a lease... After that, they show their true colors. We were exceptional tenants! There was no need to withhold $100 of our deposit. We cleaned that place with a toothbrush top to bottom... everything imaginable! The carpet was spotlessly cleaned and shampooed when we moved out. Miraculously, they found the carpet unacceptable with "rust" stains. Desiree claimed they had pictures... yeah--of someone else's carpet! And no where in the lease does it say you have to show a receipt that your carpet was shampooed in order not to have a charge deducted from your deposit return. I find it interesting that the amount of "damages" is just low enough to not be worth taking them to small claims court. I wonder how much is Desiree's cut from the $100 they cheated me? When I called to discuss my deposit return with management, Desiree was ironically on her "break" 1 hour before closing. My call was not returned 3 times! Gee, I wonder why they are not returning my call? I guess maybe they don't want to deal with the truth. Oh, and one time she was in the office, I was "mistakenly" disconnected. I wonder how Desiree sleeps at night knowing she is scamming tenants. She can lie to me... God knows the truth! Idiots. So very obvious of what you did to me! Not one ounce of moral values. Sad. read more

Overdue yelp review here! Tiny apartments that need to be updated as they still have carpets/counters/cupboards/stoves from the 80s. Super hot in the heat! The bedrooms won't cool down! Have to have a fan blasting in the window all night long. My biggest complaints: 1) Although this appears to be in a safer area it's on the edge of San Jose. On 3 occasions while my husband & I were sleeping we awoke at 2 to 3 am to a very loud repeated crow bar noise on our porch. Sounded like someone attempting to break-in to our apartment! The first time it was so loud & long I called 911 & the police came(still heard crow bar noise while on phone even)& tho they said they didn't see tampering, I later discovered it was the storage door right on the porch they were trying to break in...totally damaged the door and left crow bar marks....must've been "copper thiefs" as the water heater was in this closet. Mind you there was a security guard there yet they didn't seem to keep off strangers from doing this. (I called security to come check it out one of the times)Super scary! The 4th incident was that at 4:30 am when my husband was awake he heard foot steps come up on our stairs and then a noise on the front door. I later found a small tool left on the doormat! Unsafe & scary if you ask me! The management didn't even flinch an eye or seem to care about the safety or these incidences!! 2) Since these are very old buildings the bathroom has a fan/light fixture up in the ceiling. But it's covered in cobwebs up there no one can reach. On 3 separate occasions Spiders literally the size of the palm of my hand that looked like mini tarantualas & exotic were in my apartment. One that was brown & furry, one black one, and one gray one with white spots....perhaps from the light fixture ceiling issue! Also being at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains. 3) Asian people lived below me and would cook with really stinky fish oil or something and the smell would wreak my apartment above regularly! That should not happen. Also there was once a fire at this complex. 4) Little parking....... 5) Rude & unfriendly staff who have problems taking care of issues 6) Being near a laundry room some people would attempt to sneak in and use the machines late at night...luckily later security would lock the door. Take ur money elsewhere. The only good thing was there was the Pruneyard nearby. Also Campbell Park is great & so is the community track. read more
