Just like any other variety store but, the owner is super friendly. They serve ice cream and in the summer months its very very busy.

It has been popular among locals since they opened in 2008. The prices are quite reasonable at $3 for 1 scoop and $4 for 2 scoops. Even banana splits are only $5. All prices include taxes! We had a 2-scoop cone: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Pralines & Cream. Both scoops were creamy and tasty. My son really loved them but I did manage to get a little bit of both flavours. There is some savoury food served too like hot dogs, fries, poutine, and coffees. It is owned by a husband and wife team: George and Irene. Both are very pleasant people. They love having fun signs such as: "adults must be accompanied by children" and "children left unattended in this store will be sold to the circus". You can only pay by cash or e-transfer. There is no phone number because I can see they are extremely busy. You can still contact them via social media. There are picnic tables outside. During pandemic times, all staff and customers wear face masks and there is plexiglass used. Only one family is allowed in the small order area at a time. Just outside the entrance, you can be entertained by a famous saxaphone player, Orlando (a Cuban), during nice the afternoons. Today (2021-09-05), we were lucky to also have a guest keyboardist also from Cuba. There is no free WiFi. It is wheelchair  accessible. You can use a washroom by request. Parking may not be easy to find but people tend to parking in the large parking lot behind to store. Review 2021-084 You can also find me on Instagram @chuan_chee. Thanks.

This ice cream shop actually is pretty cool…read more Besides ice cream, they also sell various knick knacks like trading cards, socks, jewellery, candles & more. It's really a mish mash of stuff. The ice cream sold here is Kawartha Dairy, so that bit is pretty standard. But the servings are pretty big & a single is only $3 and a double $4, including tax. So it's cheaper than going to a Kawartha outlet They only accept cash & etransfer. The guy is pretty friendly, though there were some ice crystals in the ice cream.

Fishbone by the Lake is hands down one of the best dining experiences you can find in Stouffville,…read moreand honestly, I would compare it among the top restaurants in the entire York Region and GTA. From the moment you walk in, the combination of good food, warm service, and that beautiful lakeside view sets the tone for a memorable meal. We ordered a variety of dishes, but the standout was definitely the grilled sea bass. It was simply outstanding. Perfectly cooked with a crisp skin and tender flavorful bass. The fish was completely boneless, which was a pleasant surprise. The sauce and garnishes elevated the dish even further, and the presentation was so well done that it looked as good as it tasted. Honestly, it was so addictive that I would come back just for that dish alone! Service here is another reason this place shines. Our server, Christian, deserves a special shout-out. He is friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was excellent from start to finish. It is rare to encounter service that feels genuinely thoughtful, and it made the day even more enjoyable. Yes, Fishbone by the Lake is on the pricier side, but it's absolutely worth it for the quality you can get. From the freshness of the ingredients, to the upscale presentation, and the relaxed lakeside atmosphere, everything comes together to justify the cost. There is also a good amount of free parking conveniently located across the street, which makes visiting stress-free. A few quick tips: reservations are a must. This is a popular spot, and with good reason, so book ahead to avoid disappointment. Weather could throw you a curveball in summer time since the venue is basically outdoor with a nice shade. Between the incredible food, stunning view, and top-notch service, Fishbone by the Lake is a solid 10/10 in my books. Honestly, whether you are celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a place to treat yourself with friends or families, this restaurant will not disappoint. Recommended!

Tip: Get 50% off prepacks on the 31st of the month…read more I used to frequent Whitchurch-Stouffville a lot during the pandemic. When things got closer to normal, I stopped visiting this area. The crazy thing is that I visited a plaza with a Giant Tiger almost weekly. I didn't bother checking out the other stores that were here. After having lunch at Chuck's Roadhouse, I walked over to my car and spotted this Baskin-Robbins in front of me, slightly to my right. It was new to me. After shopping at Dollarama. I decided to get in my car and drive over to Baskin-Robbins. It had stopped raining, but I didn't want to take any chances if it returned. I backed into a parking spot. I then walked in. I saw all the ice cream cakes. I've never had one. I should get one. The most friendly female staffer came out of the back area and said hi. She was naturally cheerful and sweet. I knew that I wanted. I don't deviate from the norm because it's my favourite ice cream flavour at Baskin-Robbins. I ordered a scoop of pineapple coconut ice cream. It looked good. I haven't had it for a good half a year. She placed the cup with my ice cream scoop on the top counter with a signature pink spoon. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. She asked me if I needed to receipt. I didn't. I wished her a great day. She reciprocated. I took my cup full of happiness into my car. I sat there and enjoyed my pineapple coconut ice cream. It's the best. It had small chunks of pineapple and coconut. It was creamy and yummy. I was happy. I didn't care if cars were coming and going on either side of my car. I was in my happy place. There are a few places to sit down and enjoy your frozen treats. It didn't have any music playing. I feel that it should. I should come here more often. I'll be back. (112)

Though this short rib chef's special of the night I had the last time I was there (fall 2023) was phenomenal. Tender meat with a bit of that silky fat mouthfeel, and really tasty. I would go back for that. And recently had their seared scallops which were cooked perfectly. However my dining companion's striploin was just meh. I'm giving it 4 stars because I really like the ambiance, and despite the food being ok, I've always had good service. They have different rooms depending on who you are with - I find that large groups tend to be seated on the main floor, while couples can have a quieter meal on the second floor. In the summer they have a nice balcony patio off the second floor dining room but they also renovated the first floor so that you can sit right at these large patio doors that open right onto Main Street. I also like their commitment to sourcing ingredients locally. I'm willing to keep giving them another chance.

They have signs all over the restaurant, had a temperature station at the front, and even instructions at each table. I think they put in a lot effort and kudos to the management team for doing this. When looking at menu items, the restaurant has supplied QR codes for customers to scan for a digital copy. Great job! Now we get to the food part. I think everything was mediocre at best, and that's completely okay. The major issue I had with this restaurant was the pricing. I totally understand that COVID-19 has given restaurant owners a lot of stress but charging $12-13 for wedges is stretching it. It was also too salty, but mistakes happen and we can let that slide. Our ravioli dish was actually really good, but there was only ONE PIECE (yes, it's a larger piece but c'mon). The risotto had the right texture, but the boys found it a bit bland and underwhelming at a cost of around $22. I actually have no complaints about the shepherd's pie or the chicken stew, I'd recommend both of these dishes. Our waitress disappeared a couple of times, and another had to keep coming in to help, very thankful that she was there to support a teammate. Lastly, we were charged $10, and it was labelled "table charge". I looked it up after and found out the restaurant added a charge of $2.50/customer for COVID-19 cleaning costs. I wish they were upfront about it on the bill, or at least had their waitress explain it. We let it go because we didn't want to make it difficult for the restaurant. Overall, I don't have major complaints, but the little things do add up. I think the restaurant can improve a lot in the future and I understand re-openings are not meant to be easy.

This store in Whitchurch-Stouffville also has hot beverages. This Circle K is part of an Esso gas station. Next to this store is a pizza restaurant. I parked in a corner facing Winona Drive and Main Street, and walked over. This store used to be a Mac's. It has a good selection of beverages. The Froster and Polar Pop flavours were also decent, with roughly a dozen of varieties to choose from, respectively. You can get hot foods, but nothing was there that I wanted to get. There were hot dog rollers, but no hot dogs were available. There was a place to fetch pizza, except that there weren't any slices when I was there. It felt like a hot foods shortage when I was in the store. It was quite the rollercoaster set of emotions. I was thrilled that this store offered hot foods, but I couldn't get anything that I wanted. I had digital coupons for a pizza slice and a hot dog. I put them away. Instead, I used my coupon for a $2 bag of chips. The man at the counter was direct. I had my coupon scanned. I went to scan my PC Optimum card. He said that I didn't earn any points. I said that it was okay. It was habit. I paid with a debit card. I thanked him and left with my bag. Maybe it's timing. I hope that at when I'm back in the area, there will be hot foods for me to purchase. I'm going through hot dog withdrawal symptoms these days! (397)
