She talked me through some things that could help with wearing my contacts too long, etc. Also, while the glasses I chose were super expensive, I also really love them. It was a frame I had found nowhere else! As for the front office staff, definitely very friendly but very disorganized. When I was first contacted by Krista she had to get my husband's social and I gave that over the phone. Then she asked me again when it came appointment time; turns out she did not write it in the system. Thankfully I had it in a note on my phone. Not something you keep on hand! Secondly, I was charged for glasses before even being fitted for them. Lastly, it had been 2.5 weeks since I had my appointment and did not get a call that my glasses were ready. Sure enough I called the office and they had them....just didn't notify me. Returning here is up in the air for me. While I had a good experience with the doctor, paying as much as I did for glasses and not having an entirely good experience left sort of a bad taste in my mouth.

She always listens carefully and explains her process in detail, weighing pros and cons of each treatment option. I've been coming to her office for about six months now for dry eye (specifically MGD), and she has gone above and beyond for every single visit. Dr. Telega is noticeably passionate about her practice, and I absolutely cannot recommend her enough!

I appreciate that the doctor and staff do not pressure patients to make purchasing decisions or push products. Pricing is transparent and VERY reasonable. Here's my story. I've been getting glasses from him for a while and the assistant mentioned daily wear contacts. So I made an appointment to try them out (when I last wore contacts, daily wear contacts had just come out and cost a fortune, now they are pretty darn cheap!). I wore them, but I had some of the eye-drying problems I had before at work (I'm a software engineer...I stare at a screen all day). So I borrowed a friends "computer glasses" (yellow tinted, with a +0.25 magnification) and they helped. Being scientific minded, I wanted to see if unmagnified, untinted glasses were just as good. So I borrowed a pair of their display glasses to try it out. When I went back to return the display glasses, I showed the glasses to Dr. Ross and he measured them to show their magnification (I didn't know before). In addition, he's letting me try a variety of contacts to see if some work better for me than others. Any eye doctor can do the job, I'm sure, but Dr. Ross does it well!

From the start it has been a great experience more than shopping with them and has been my go to from LA, Seoul, Stockholm, or any other place in the world. These guys/gals get it right. The last optometrist I went to with no glasses asked me "I really want to see the Rx. Who was able to get this?" So, when I need to new glasses it always means a trip back home to Squirrel Hill. We have called them throughout this time and they gave different eta's. And yet nothing.... The staff are unfortunately not helpful and the glasses are currently MIA. It is so unfortunate that a place of this caliber cannot meet simple expectations such as delivering the glasses at a timely manner. To add on to this, the staff seems to be delivering confusing information and they are quite disorganized. It was our first time here and will be our last for sure. Update: glasses were ordered at this location in Squirrel Hill July 6th. On July 17th, we were notified that the glasses have shipped from the lab. We still hadn't heard from this location as of July 23rd, so we visited in person. The staff did not check any information on the computer, simply told us again that they would arrive in the next 3 days. Writing this 5 days after the last visit, and contacting the store again for an update. Their response "checking with the lab again." During all of this, we have received conflicting stories and information from the staff regarding the state and whereabouts of the glasses. We completely understand that this type of work takes time, and there are numerous checks required on that end. The issue is with the complete lack of communication and contradictory/dismissive information we are receiving from the staff on site at this specific location.

So, after going to Urgent Care, being told it was pink eye, despite the absence of all standard symptoms of it, and paying a $40 copay for unneeded antibiotic eye drops, I called UPMC Eye Center. I explained the urgency of my situation in a voice husky from 72 hours sans sleep, and they were able to get me in to see Dr. Drexler that afternoon! I miraculously found a parking spot in Oakland (this place is on Forbes a storefront or two down from the Starbucks on the corner of Atwood), and loaded up the parking meter with $257.50 worth of quarters to avoid getting a parking ticket. Inside, I found the waiting area small but clean and nice. There are rows of glasses on the walls, and they carried frames by everything from Tiffany & Co. to Juicy to Prada and Coach. There's a coffee/cappuccino station for patients near the reception, and a few magazines you can peruse while you're waiting. My appointment began promptly and the assistant who saw me before the doctor was great. She was personable and professional, and we went throughout the preliminary eye tests quickly. After a few more minutes, I went back to see Dr. Drexler and he was great. Very thorough, he listened to my multiple 'theories' about my eye problem, and he explained each part of the exam and why he chose the particular eye drops he prescribed (which were an $80 copay that I had to call 9 pharmacies to find, but that's not his fault). Overall, I've only had great experiences here, and I will be coming back for my eye care needs. :)
