The best part of this meal was the service. He was quick to answer questions and kept my drink filled. The chips and salsa were standard, store bought and the chips were not warm. I ordered the tijuanas enchiladas ( much like enchiladas suiza) and a chile poblano on the side. The enchiladas were just OK. Seasoning was non existent, verde sauce was OK. This was not served with beans and/or rice. The Poblano was terrible. The batter was just flour and did not have any firmness like it was completely cooked. There was not a lot of cheese inside and it was topped with some sort of tomato sauce, maybe stewed tomatoes, this added to an already disappointing pepper. read more

I ordered takeout yesterday and was treated very rude by the woman who took my order, she was very impatient and short with me. The food was hot but sloppy with missing red sauce and no lettuce. I felt like I was a burden to her and it wasn't even busy at all when I was there. If she is there(if I go again), I turn around and leave and go to Fort Wayne. The food is too expensive to be treated like that. read more

We've frequented Cebollas many times, but lately we've not had consistent experiences. Food is hit or miss. We ordered carryout tonight (two salads and two quesadillas) and got home to find mold on our avocados. Gross and disappointing. I was in town on a temporary work assignment, looking for a lunch visit at a local restaurant. I happened to spot this business as I was driving by and thought I might stop in. I arrived 10 minutes after they opened, was greeted at the door and offered either a table or booth. I selected a booth and was promptly seated. Their menu was very thorough in Mexican offerings. I made my selection, my order was placed and soon thereafter my meal arrived. Luckily I remembered to snap a picture of my meal, because soon it was 'no-longer-with-us', dearly departed. We just stopped here today for lunch but we've been here a bunch of times before. The food is always good and always comes out fast. The service is great and even if it's busy you shouldn't have to wait long for your food. I've heard the margaritas are good but I am not a margarita drinker. My favorite is the arroz con pollo. The best one I've had at any Mexican restaurant I've been to. They used to have a great breakfast buffet on sundays but they are no longer open on Sundays anymore unfortunately. Great Mexican place is Auburn, Indiana! Treated us really well, the food was great, the drinks were strong, and the chips just kept coming! We were here celebrating my wife's grandma's 90th B-day and I told our waiter who presented her with a lovely desert and put a Sombrero on her head and got the whole wait staff to sing her Happy B-day in Spanish and English! It was a wonderful memory we will have forever! Great Job on the food too, my vegan Veggie Fajitas were really great and I could not eat them all they were so filling! Used to live very close to a great Cebolla's in Fort Wayne, Indiana so I was extremely excited when we found this location visiting family recently. I hoped the quality would be at least close to the same, and it definitely was! The decor in the restaurant is awesome, the servers were super friendly, and the chips and salsa were good. Overall I was very satisfied before even ordering my food. I decided to order the steak and shrimp fajitas, and they came out sizzling hot just like fajitas should! They were well-seasoned, perfectly cooked, and a huge portion. The refried beans were great too, and so were the charro beans. I would definitely recommend this as a top Mexican restaurant in the area, and I'll be stopping buy any time I visit family again for sure. read more

Margaritas are very tasty Prices are reasonable & what you would find at most Mexican Grill restaurants Atmosphere is a bit loud. The ceilings are high, the heavy wooden chairs against the concrete floor are obnoxiously loud. The salsa is average. We stopped in here for a late lunch. The colorful artisan tables are what we see more and more in Mexican restaurants with painted scenes of "old Mexico" life and colorful birds. The lunch menu is only served Monday through Friday11-4. Being a Saturday, we ordered off the dinner menu. I ordered the carnitas without rice and my wife got the fajita salad. The chicken for her salad was on the bottom of the tortilla shell bowl with the salad elements on top. That's different than most places. It was tasty but it wasn't anything exceptional. The carnitas were also different than most places. You typically get pork that's been shredded and crisped on the griddle. Here, their pork was cubes and dEep fried. It was served with lettuce, a single pickled jalapeño, a slice of tomato and raw onion & green pepper. The refried beans were better than most Mexican restaurants. I ate most of them and I don't typically like refried beans. We both enjoyed the lime margarita with salt and it was very tasty. A bit more tequila would have been ok with me. Their salsa has a unique hint of smokiness to it which makes me thin there is some adobo sauce in it. It was delicious. The first thing we noticed when we sat down was the prices were very high. We thought about leaving right then but we were hungry and didn't want to spend more time driving around. This is Auburn's only Mexican restaurant which when it first opened years ago, you would probably see us there almost weekly and would have been ranked a 4!!! Lately, however, you would be lucky to see us in once every other month or two. Why? I would chalk it up to inconsistency with food quality & taste and a decreasing attention to detail/cleanliness. First, let's talk chips & salsa. This is a Mexican restaurant-they should be nailing this all day, every day. Sometimes it's perfect. Sometimes the chips are stale and salsa tastes either watered down or has too much or too little garlic and/or cilantro. Word of advice: DO NOT EAT THE DYED CHIPS they make "special" for Cinco De Mayo or other traditional Mexican Holidays/Celebrations!!! (They are typically so stale you could break a tooth crunching into one & all you taste is the dye/food coloring!) I typically order the Burrito De Chile Rojo with steak. Initially, it was my "Go To" choice being mostly moist, juicy steak and just the right amount of beans. But again, as of late, it is mostly refried beans with a little speckling of either burnt steak crumbs or gristle/fat. Lastly, this restaurant went from impeccably clean to maybe cleanliness being a thought somewhere towards the bottom on the list of priorities. It could be speculated that the food inconsistencies come from the fact that the staff seems to always be changing & the restaurant seems to constantly need to hire cooks, wait staff & Bussers. Maybe it's the management/owner who has become less meticulous & more "relaxed" with his ever changing staff that he is too busy being their "friend" to notice that the quality & cleanliness he used to expect has drifted far from the tight ship he used to run?? To sum up: Visit here if you love a Delicious Texas Margarita that will knock you on your ass after a bad day or long, hard work week!!!
