5 Star update for another great experience with this electrical company - this time during the time of COVID. The sitch: new house and my partner and I found ourselves with some electrical needs. I went back to CDW based on the experience I'd had with them prior (previous review below) and I was not disappointed! Javier and Matt arrived promptly (we got a text message giving us an ETA when they were 40 minutes out). When they arrived, I was happy to see they were wearing masks (we were too, of course). Kudos for keeping their customers safe! They got straight to work adding a few outlets for the wall behind our mounted TVs (yay for no visible wires!). Javier was very communicative and checked with us along the way to make sure the height and everything was fine. When they were done, they cleaned up the dust on the floor (from drilling) and left us perfect outlets! We were also having an issue with a few outlets in the kitchen and Javier diagnosed the issue easily and set off to work. And once again- Solved! I have zero issues to report. Literally, none. No cons. Which is pretty rare!! Our house had a circuit that included our garage and all the exterior outlets outside. The modem attachment for our internet sits out on the side of the garage on one outlet. About a few months ago, it shorted out, completely rusted out. Which is fairly common in Florida. So I got a rainproof attachment and ran an extension cord from the garage. No problem. Except that was a problem. Whatever genius built my house put ONE plug in the entire garage. So the outside spare fridge is on that circuit. The new garage door opener that we just installed is now on that circuit. The water filtration system in the garage is on that circuit. The modem is on that circuit. The chargers for our electric lawn equipment is on that circuit. Needless to say, the GFI outlet started tripping. Constantly. All. Day. Long. Did I mention that the wife and I work from home, and that's an issue?!? Needless to say, I started to schedule people, and nothing was closer than two weeks, which is simply not possible. We needed it way sooner. Which is where CDW came in. The receptionist on the phone took my info, and even though she couldn't squeeze us in for a couple of weeks, she made it a point to call me daily with literally ANY appointment cancellations. I think the third one finally worked, less than four days after the issues started. Zach came over and changed out the exterior outlet for us in less than twenty minutes. In addition, he scheduled us an appointment to add a circuit to the garage to move the water softener and fridge off the circuit, the two biggest power draws. Less than ten days later, both were completed. There's a newly installed line and circuit for the biggest devices and the electric lawn In addition, the quotes for both jobs were less than one company wanted to charge me for just the easier part! Was in need of some basic assistance replacing hardwired smoke alarms in my condo. After contacting a couple other electricians where I felt like I was being cornered in to unclear and expensive pricing, I headed to Yelp! Immediately, I encountered CDW which had great reviews and comments on reasonable pricing. Upon calling to make an appointment, the team member was able to give me an idea of pricing, which was indeed fair, and get me scheduled for an appointment the following day. Eddie assisted with my project and called to advise he was almost to my condo. He was actually 45 minutes early! I'm not sure if that was a mistake or they tend to arrive early, but for me it was appreciated! Eddie worked quickly and was friendly. The final price actually came in a little less than what I was told on the phone, based on how fast Eddie worked. I would not hesitate to use their services again and to recommend CDW to others. The service was fantastic and I have no complaints, but I did want to note a few observations. When you call, you can usually expect to go right to voicemail. I guess that they're pretty busy being so good at what they do. However, their response time is excellent. I got a response the same day when I left a voicemail, usually within a few hours. So I didn't mind waiting, given all of the positive Yelp reviews here. My second observation is that I didn't receive an immediate email confirmation. My appointment was in the books and never lost or anything. I was just expecting an email to hit my account shortly after I scheduled my appointment. I called to confirm and everything was fine, though. I also got several reminders starting the day before my appointment, right up to when my technician was on his way and arriving. They even give you a way to track where the person is on your phone, which is a nice touch. My technician arrived right on schedule. He was polite and professional. He wore a mask the entire time that he was in my home, which is important to me right now since we're still in a pandemic. I felt perfectly safe in that regard. He finished the work quite promptly. My two smoke alarms were installed within 30 minutes, he collected payment and was on his way. The process was nice and easy. These folks are consummate professionals and their booking process is very simple. You may have to wait a little to get them on the phone, but they're definitely worth the wait. I'm thoroughly satisfied with their service and highly recommend them. I'll be recommending them to anyone who I know who needs electrical work done. Book these folks and don't look back! read more

They sent someone named Eddie who was extremely foul-mouthed and disorganized. After an hour of this (the longest hour of my life) I sent him away because it was clear he could not get the job done. I hired another company and the person knew what to do and did the work properly. I knew something was wrong when he arrived because he seemed much more interested in how much I was going to rent that house for than in doing the job he was hired to do. My son recently bought an older house, which, among other issues, couldn't be insured until the breakers were replaced with GFI breakers and the electrical panel was updated from an old Federal Pacific panel.  After looking at online reviews for electricians, we chose three of the top-rated companies to give us an estimate. Not only did CDW ELECTRICAL SERVICES give us the best price, the customer service, friendliness and personality of the estimator/co-owner, Wayne, put CDW Electrical Services at the very top of our list!  Wayne arrived on time, gauged the scope of work needed and kept us smiling and laughing the entire time he was there.  He has a quick wit and great sense of humor, which put us at ease and reduced our anxiety about the repairs. Even though it was very close to Christmas, CDW Electrical Services pulled the permit, got us scheduled quickly and completed our job fast and professionally.  Javier showed up a few minutes ahead of our appointment, explained what he would be doing and got to work.  JAVIER WAS AWESOME!  I can't speak highly enough of him!  He was polite, knowledgeable and good natured-an absolute pleasure to be around!  He completed the work beautifully, and it breezed through the county's inspection. CDW is going to be my go to for electrical needs from this morning on. I haven't had the best of luck with electricians; never on time, seem to be careless/absent minded on the job etc but my experience with CDW today was great and completely different than prior experiences. We have a couple projects around the house that are needing to get going, first and foremost was our light post in front next to our driveway. Irma took out a branch and that branch in-turn took out our dear light post. I emailed CDW and they got back to me 4-5 hours later ready to schedule an appointment. I made an appointment 2 days later at 830AM. I am used to contractors telling me that they have me scheduled for 8 or 830 and then I won't see or hear from them until 11:00, it happens. CDW was just the opposite. They sent me a (I assumed automated) text and said that their contractor was about 20 minutes out and they were not lying, he showed up on the dot. He came in a fully marked company truck, on time and eager to help me out. I showed him what happened, gave him the parts I bought and he finished the job in the estimated time I was given. He also checked out the other project we had in mind, let me know how they were going to do it and told me that the office will be in touch for the full quote. Smooth as butter! My only issue with my experience and what held me back from a 5 star rating was the lack of ability to call and speak with someone on the phone. Each time I called, I was redirected to a voicemail and forced to leave a message. I chose not to leave a message and instead email to get in touch which worked well for me in the end but it would have been nice to speak with someone directly. July 3rd, 7 pm we came home to a house without A/C, a dead security system, and no working cable boxes. I called 7 electrical contractors (all rated high on Angie's List, Google, and Yelp) and CDW was the only company to return my call. They were extremely busy and it was the night before the 4th of July. When they couldn't find an employee available, Wayne (the company Owner) took it upon himself to make the trip out to see us. He told us the rate in advance and immediately came out to evaluate our problem. He was sympathetic, friendly, and professional. He evaluated our problem and we couldn't be any more appreciative of his sacrifice so late at night on a Holiday weekend. He diagnosed our problem quickly and it turned out to be a power surge that took out our thermostats, security keypad, and cable boxes.
