I was deciding between two watches and I finally chose. They said if I changed my mind, I could come back and get the other one. So I changed my mind and I decided that I wanted the other one. Since it took close to an hour to handle the first transaction, I called on my way out to tell them I wanted the other one so they could have the links removed and get me out of their faster. It takes me over 30 minutes just to get there. The manager answered the phone and was rude and said she would take care of it when I got there. I said I didn't have an hour to do all this as I have a long drive out there. I asked to speak with the manager and she said she WAS the manager. I told her that was disappointing. So as expected, when I got there, it had not been taken care of but they got me out fast because I was the only one in the store. My situation as embarrassing as it is CD peacock Christine the manager in the Woodfield location, was able to help me even though I was not a customer. I had my wedding ring resized it was my second wedding ring, my first one was stolen. I had my wedding ring resized from another reputable jeweler. When I received my ring back it just didn't have the fire from the facets and I was convinced that my stone was switched. I immediately called CD Peacock to see if I could come in last minute to have my ring assessed. Christine put it under the microscope and found possible metal from the buffing that had adhered to the stone. She remeasured it, steamed it, cleaned it and it came back blinding me just as my stone always did. Christine assured me after seeing my appraisal that it was my stone! Because of Christine the relief that she gave me was priceless! Thank you CD Peacock for accepting me into your store even though I was not a customer that is above and beyond. If I ever need anything in the future or know of anyone that needs jewelry I will definitely steer them to your way. I must say I am relieved after reading other reviews of CD Peacock stores. I basically had the same experience as the other reviewers in that I was made to feel like the lowest jerk at this CDP location on 2 occasions. I personally found everything written about CD Peacock and their employees to be true. This is the worst staff in jewelry. The poor service, arrogrant attitude, shallowness, and lack of knowledge are really sad. When I first came (months ago) it was to see Veragio settings. I had to beg for sales help (because the employees don't make eye contact or greet). When I finally got a saleswoman, instead of being shown the rings I picked, I got a 20 questions interview that was basically sizing up my net worth (i.e. "So what does an accountant make these days? Where do you live? Do you own it?"). In the end, she wouldn't take the settings out from the case. I had to view the rings with her holding them up UNDER THE GLASS,!! And this was not a foreign saleslady either, which I would have simply chalked up the experience to cultural differences or language barriers, it was an American saleslady who had been there for years! The 2nd time I came in was to pick out a watch for my lady's B-day. I was dressed a bit nicer because I just left work, so I only had to wait 10mins this time. After describing what I was looking for (Raymond Weil or some dressy ladies watch), I was berated by the salesman, told I was completely wrong, and what I need is a Tag Heur. When I mentioned my lady doesn't like sport watches or Tags, the salesperson frowned at me, asked me why was I being so cheap, claimed RW watches are terrible, and that he was giving me the best deal on this Tag Aquaracer (which was $600 more than the max budget I gave him). I later found the same Tag on Amazon selling for $400 less. I only make a few jewelry purchases a year, but I have really come to enjoy jewelry shopping for my lady, particularly at this young point in our lives. I would say I was attracted to CD Peacock for their inventory (which is upper to middle luxury). But the bottom line is who wants to spend thousands at a place that treats you like crap? I am an unemotional buyer, which to me means looking for the best deal no matter what and ignoring the "Best Customer Service" and the shpeals, but I wouldn't buy anything at CD Peacock, even if the exact same watch or diamond was 50% less than at other stores. But then again, I would need to get a salesperson to show me the merchandise and that is impossible at CD Peacock!! read more

Be aware that C.D. Peacock may be totally untrustworthy. My wife's wedding ring have five high quality matched diamonds set in white gold. The settings became worn and thus were given to Peacocks' to be redone. Peacocks' totally over did the settings almost covering the diamonds. Another jeweler connected the settings but informed us that two of the diamonds no longer matched and appeared to have been substituted with lower quality stones. read more

Okay so I am a major watch guru. I am aware of all the makers and their current models including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Panerai, A. Lange & Sohne, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, and almost any other makers. I have had and still have several Rolex's, a Cartier and Patek Philippe watches. Some of these watches are very very expensive. I had never purchased anything from CD Peacock because I simply won't pay retail when I don't have to. Nevertheless, last year I saw the new Rolex Submariner with the Green Gold Dial which came out in Basel Fair in March or April 2010. Approximately eight months ago I started looking at all the jewelers in Chicago to actually see the watch. I had been in the store before just to look at the inventory. Once this watch came out of course before spending money on any watch I would like to actually see it. Several of there employees at his location only were like if you want that watch put down your credit card and pay for it. Why would I pay for something I haven't seen in person yet to know if I want it and pay full retail plus tax. I went back approximately 4 or 5 months before this review and was looking at the inventory to see if they had one. An overweight lady, with brown curly hair, came up rather rudely and said can I help you. I said, have you gotten the Rolex Green Submariner yet with the new green gold dial. She looked me up and down and said "DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THAT COSTS?". First of all that wasn't my question and if I am asking about the newest model that nobody has gotten yet then I of course was aware how much it retailed for. Mind you I was not dressed in a suit because it was a Saturday, but nevertheless no salesperson on commission should make a snap judgment about any potential customer. My wife was with me at the time and she was so angry that she wanted me to write a letter to them explaining what happened. Considering the fact that I am aware almost of all the retail prices of any watch out there that I would be potentially interested in purchasing I was certainly taken aback by this and I am now 4 months writing this review. Frankly, I would never purchase anything from them and the lady should not be working at that store anymore. If I were considering purchasing any piece of jewelry I would never go to them. Further, I would strongly recommend RAZNY JEWELERS as everyone in there is extremely friendly knowledgeable and courteous to every customer. read more

Dear C.D. Peacock, i have to say that I am astonished at how you treat your customers. I came into the Oak Brook Mall location to speak with the watchmaker and to look at a few watches, after speaking with the watchmaker (who took time out of his busy day to speak to me) I wanted to look at another IWC to add to my collection. When i asked one of the sales associates to help me he said he was busy and if i could give him a moment, I said sure why not im not in a rush. After 25min of waiting two women comming in and picking up jewlery (which were helped right away) lots of sales associates plus a manager in the store, the watchmaker, yes the watchmaker came and told me that everyone was to busy to help me out and to come back another time, and this was at 11am with no other customers in the store. As a business owner I am very dissapointed at how things were handled. I guess my business isnt important enough and would like to let you know that you have lost my business and respect. read more

I stopped into C.D.Peacock after I had taken my Rolex watch to another jeweler to get it cleaned/buffed. When I received my watch (from the disclosed jeweler I had originally taken it too), it was not in its original condition it had been in prior to taking it there. I immediately took my watch to C.D.Peacock to get it examined and fixed because I knew that they are a certified Rolex dealer. Anthony, the salesman, took great interest into helping me out. He was extremely patient and spent hours helping me get my watch back to Rolex standards. It was amazing and also quite impressive how intelligent he is in the watch field. Also, Gabriel the watch maker (who to my knowledge has spent years in the watch making field and has quite the reputation), was very informative and helped me individually to make sure I knew exactly what had happened to the watch. He also let me know what he had to do in order to fix it and bring it back to its original condition. Lastly, Tim the Assistant Manager, was very kind and took the time to ask me how my experience was at C.D.Peacock. The customer service and overall experience I had was amazing to say the very least. Now I know that the next time I need to overhaul my watch or even purchase a new one, I'm choosing C.D.Peacock in OakBrook Mall! read more

I've had mostly great experiences at C.D. Peacock. After a local James & Sons got the wrong things, tried to sell me up on something, and sold a ring I requested they bring in to see, I tried C.D. Peacock because I was looking for a particular designer ring and they were one of the few vendors that carried. They were extremely helpful, and brought in exactly what I asked for (even though it was a special request not common there) and got me a few things to choose from. I was very happy with how it all turned out. Returned for the lady's band there, which was also relatively painless (as much as jewelry shopping can be). Team has always been very helpful in store, if sometimes a little too sales-y. My only disappointment was when looking for my band, we couldn't work them down enough on the price of something that we wound up finding cheaper elsewhere. But I still recommend the atmosphere, staff and help, from the sales people to the awesome security guard up front. read more

I would put less than one star if i could. The service was horrible. Received two new tags from my inlaws family for a wedding gift back at the end of march. One was scratched around the side, the other had scratch on the crystal. Took the watches back in and didnt receive them that until 2 months later, and that was because of multiple calls. They replaced a new crystal on one of the watches which ended up having dust inside. The sales people and manager said they didnt see anything, so i asked a ramdom customer at the store and they even saw it. They lied so many times. I just got that watch back on 12/26. 9months to wear a watch. I would never recommend them to anyone. I would go to any other store besides them. They are totally inexperienced, spending a few thousand on a watch you want someone there to know what their talking about. read more

Easily the best customer experience you'll have. I've bought many watches from the salesperson, Art Vaisnoris, he's been there for a long time and is always friendly and quick to address any of your jewelry or wristwatch buying needs. Not a pushy salesperson, always ready to assist without being a pain. They also have a Rolex certified watchmaker in the premises, his name is Gabe and he's known on the watch collecting forums as the best around for both modern and vintage watch repairs. It's a Rolex authorized dealer so there's not much movement on their pricing but I'll pay a little more for their extra warranty and great customer service. read more

I wanted to purchase my engagement ring from here - the same store my father bought THE ring for my mother at 40+ years ago. Our rep Patricia was outstanding: we told her our budget and she showed us an amazing selection in our range. She was patient, took time with us, answered every one of our questions. And then...we found my dream ring. Over our budget just slightly, she was wonderful to state she would see what she could do on pricing - see if she could throw in the matching band, etc. We're only talking a $2,000 difference here, and my boyfriend and I had already decided that whatever she could "do", we would be getting my dream ring from this location from this wonderful rep as the price was over our budget but within the cash we had set aside. She stated she would call us within a few days with details. I understand this is a high end store, and our budget most definitely is lower than the average person that walks through their doors. I will say that not ONCE were we made to feel out of place or uncomfortable. Quite the opposite. Maybe we gave the impression we would be buying that day, maybe we didn't impress enough that we really needed some work on the bottom line pricing. But we did not receive a call to follow up on the sale. It has been three weeks. I sadly will look elsewhere for my dream ring, and CD Peacock will lose out on the lifetime value of us as future customers. read more

I received a Gucci watch for my birthday and went into the downtown location as I was there for work to have it sized. The gentlemen there tried to size it and said I would need to go elsewhere. He mentioned the store in Oak brook as there is a watch repair man on site, as I live close by I thought it would be convenient. The original quote was $50 as they said it was very delicate and would take about 2-3 days to size. On the day I was supposed to pick it up they called me and said it could not be sized and i needed to take it to an authorized Gucci dealer. Which I am not sure why they did not tell me that to begin with. I ended up looking on Yelp and found Chicago Clock Company right on Ogden and close by. They sized it for me in 20 min and only charged me $10. Needless to say I was very happy with their service and will not be going back to C.D. Peacock for any other watch repairs I have! read more
