I got a txt from Omer at C & D Locksmith when I searched Yelp for a Locksmith/Handyman. I txt'd him a little after 6:15 pm because I needed to change my front door lock. I was hoping he could come first thing the next morning, but he said he was booked and could come the following afternoon. I told him that wouldn't work (someone tried breaking into my house overnight a screwed up my lock). Then he said he could come over 'now'. Talk about impressed! He arrived at 6:40 pm and had the job done by 7:25 pm. He then cleaned up the sawdust from drilling and the old locking system. It took longer to program my iPhone than to install my Seifgard Smart Home Lock. Omer had his truck parked at my driveway and I could see that it looked like a 'hardware store on wheels' inside. I do not know how to retract or edit a recent review i have left for this business. I only can say I made a huge mistake when I believed they did something wrong actually I just did not know my new car and mistakenly assumed that during the key copying, they did turn off my safety features. Even when Omar knew it had nothing to do with what they did (done lots of this kind of work) he went out of his way to research it- and contacted me with solutions and ideas. There was nothing wrong with the car. They came out quickly. The guy who showed up was super polite and helpful. There was one lock that he had to change the barrel out on in order to keep it properly. He did not have the barrel in stock. He said that it would take a couple of days to get one. So we finished the work and let him go. Then, five days go by, and I finally hear from his boss. Oops! I forgot to order the lock. It will be here in another two days. Then he calls me two days later and tells me that he has it, but that the guy will be there sometime today. By 2 o'clock I'm trying to figure out when the guy is coming. Apparently, oops! He can't come, because his entire schedule has been booked up all day. He never could have made it during business hours. I waited all day. Don't waste my time. So i asked the owner if he could come the following day. First thing, I'm told. He did show up that morning. The lack of clarity of communication on the owner's part, and forgetting to order my part are not hugely endearing ways of doing business. The service technician was excellent. I hired CD over the phone to program and cut a new key for a used vehicle I just purchased. I gave him the make , model & year and told him I had purchased a new OEM key fob on the internet. He quoted me a price of $125. When they arrived and started trying to program they discovered they needed a pin code in order to program the fob. That was going to be another $100. In the end, the job got done but I'm not happy about it costing an additional $100. I feel like they low balled me to get the job knowing they could charge me more after they got here. read more
