Long lane is the vendor that my home warranty company (AHS) assigned for three separate appliance…read morerelated issues.
1st encounter: removed old range hood unit. installed new range hood unit.
2nd encounter: removed old washer (stacked unit) and installed new washer.
Honestly, I have no complaints about Long Lane for both encounters. If anything, I truly appreciate all of their help and professionalism.
Denise - I spoke with her numerous times, mainly for scheduling purposes and she was always so sweet, thorough and always tried to be so accommodating (contingent technician availability, which is expected). I've had to schedule numerous times for a technician to come out (and they did) but not due to any errors from Long Lane but due to the incompetent folks I've had to deal with from AHS pertaining to my range hood unit.
Bill (team lead/crew lead?) - He is amazing and so professional. He was the first tech to ever come out to my home from Long Lane. When I opened the door to let him inside, he immediately put on shoe covers before entering (without me even asking, which I truly appreciated). He had to come out to my home several times (again all due to AHS - they didn't include a motor for my new unit and just sent me the she'll, and other issues) and when he came out to install the new unit with another tech (2 man job) they both worked so hard (6+ hours) to make sure that the new unit was installed properly (GE monogram). The even tried to clean up the debri, took the old unit, and took all the trash too.
Bill was so great, I even put in a new service request for (fridge, washer, oven) and asked AHS to see if they could assign Long Lane as the vendor again. Luckily, while Bill was here installing the new range hood, he also dealt with the new service request as well, which led to needing a new washer.
Last week, the new washer was delivered. I contacted AHS requesting a vendor to install the new washer, haul away the old washer. I think within a few hours of getting a text from AHS that a vendor was assigned (and before I even saw the text), Denise had already called to set up the installation appointment. We initially set up an appointment for this Monday but then another gentleman called me over the weekend to reschedule to Wednesday due to the blizzard that was coming Sun-Mon. However, Denise called me I think yesterday to see if I would like a tech to come out even earlier but in speaking with her, we were unable to push it up because this was also a 2 man job as the 400 lb washer was delivered to the first floor and would need to be carried to the 2nd floor (also very kind and thoughtful of her to do this).
Today, John and Bill came out to install the new washer. They carried this new washer to the 2nd floor, uninstalled my stacked dryer, removed the old washer, installed the new washer, and stacked my old dryer back on top of the new washer. I found out again...that AHS of course did not provide the correct information and told me that a certain stacking unit would be compatible with my old dryer + new washer, and it wasn't. However, John was very clear with explaining the issue, what he could and couldn't do and what he could try (with our consent of course) if we wanted to proceed. End result, John and Bill found a viable workaround and I am a happy customer. Washer has been installed and working as expected. Shoutout to John as well for his kindness and professionalism.
Thanks Long Lane, but special thanks to Denise, Bill, other tech who came out for the range hood unit installation (sorry forgot your name) and John!
