It took 3 calls to get an appointment to service my gate and to redo the call system.Then I waited all day for the designated repair person and called to get any approximate time as the business had offered none. Then, after waiting an entire day at home, no one called or showed up. The next day when I called (still no call from CCOI) the man that answered clearly did not give a sh*t about the no show or offer to reschedule. My gate controller and motor were over ten years old and needed replacing and updating. . I had specific needs that the new install would communicate with the LIftMaster myQ app and also Alexa. The equipment had a CCOI sticker on them and they were also recommended by my builder. Long story short - multiple emails, texts, phone calls later I never got to speak to anyone other than a phone lady who just wanted to sell me a standard package. I never got through to an installer, never could get anyone actually out to my property to give an estimate. Someone named Ashley sent me a couple of emails with brochures but would not consent to someone coming out to view the site even after I agreed to pay them for a sales call. I guess they used to be good but now I would put them in the unprofessional and rude category. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I did find another awesome company that did the work and did a fine job (which you can see on my other reviews). read more

This Company has gone completely down hill. They installed my home entry driveway gate years ago it went ok. Recently had them install 3 new security gates with panic bars with electric keypad entry. Key pads immediately malfunctioned and had to be replaced. 6 months later the panic bars to exit completely rusted and needed to be replaced. Instead of replacing they ignored my calls and emails. This has gone on for over 4 years. I let them know I would pay and just please put me on schedule to replace, still no response. If you want your project actually done and expect them to stand behind there work Go with another company. read more

Just unresponsive! I asked for a proposal for a damaged gate. I was told to send pictures because they charge to come out. After sending the pictures, someone came out to measure and see the damage. I never got a proposal. I've emailed and called several times, no response. read more

Two months I tried to get them to come out...3 emails, 4 calls. Photos of my job and what i wanted. Spoke to their receptionist four times. No one bothered to call back. Even asked the owner to call so I could let him know his people were letting him down. No call back. The source of the problem is pretty obvious. Sorry to say but after dealing with these people for over 23 years of having great service and referring them to several of my friends, I'm moving on..... I left several messages for the CEO to call me for there was a big problem. I live on a hill and had gate problems so I called their service gal Ashley? She advised me she would switch out the gate arm for 350.00 to a shorter arm for it kept hitting my tree. Next thing I know they don't do the job and send me a 175.00 bill with no phone call or nothing. I call them up and ask what it is for and she tells me they attempted to change it but it did not work and charged me for their attempted work..... Don't you think they should have come to look at the job first before giving me a quote where I assumed they did their job. Terrible customer service all the way around that place... read more

Ashley is the rudest person I have ever encountered. Whenever I call her it's like I'm bothering her and she talks with so much attitude. She literally was like why are you calling me? They were also supposed to come out and give me a quote for a new gate around the property, never showed. The property is over 7 acres and would have been a job worth over $100k but thanks to Ashley we went elsewhere. WOW, they have been our gate company for a long time. I will no longer do business with them. Even one of my contractors called them for a question regarding our gate and she treated them like sh*t as well. Guess they don't need customers. Do not give these people your business. I wish the owner would read these and fire that lady, she is destroying your business. read more

Gonzalo is amazing! He gets so much done in an hour it seems like a deal. He reanchored a control box, welded a support bracket, adjusted the travel on the chain, cleaned out under the box, tested the safety loops and bent the mount out so the gate stopped rubbing after it was hit by someone and all in an hour. I did help some but I needed to go pick up some concrete anchor bolts so was gone for about twenty minutes. Next time back he was just as amazing. He takes pride in his work! HOA President read more

CCOI Gate & Fence was selected to install automated gates at our property in Carmel when we constructed a newly built home in 2021. The gates and automation have worked well since the initial install until about a month ago. I called the CCOI Service Dept., and they dispatched a service tech; "Gonzalo" to diagnose the failure. He discovered an electronic component had failed and ordered a replacement unit. The replacement component arrived, and Gonzalo returned and successfully installed the replacement part and then stayed to assure the programming and control of the gates had returned to working order. Gonzalo was very good at working with us "the end user client", assuring we were fully satisfied, prior to departing from the worksite. read more

This company is a fraud. We called to have our gate repairs. They said exactly this: "hinges are bad, operator is worn out, upper gearbox is bad, sent bid to upgrade system." They billed us 5.5 months later (haah yes they bet 5 mo the later, impressive business) for $250 for that report. (Timothy Stankovich was the incompetent tech.) Little do they know we called Derek at DC Doors, he had fixed our gate for a few hundred dollars a week after they said it had to be replaced. Companies like CCOI are a rip off and steal your money. Sadly I've had much the same experience with CCOI as other reviewers have had. Overpriced, Techs who don't know the basics of troubleshooting, failure to keep appointments, rather than troubleshooting they would just take a guess and replace parts. When they could not fix a problem with phantom openings of our gate they told us they would have to install a new system. The last straw was when one of their employees damaged the cover on our gate arm. After claiming that they did not do the damage, they finally owned up and replaced the damaged cover. The company we hired out of San Jose fixed the problem with a simple adjustment the first time. Two years after they recommended a new system our existing opener is working perfectly. read more

The office staff is terribly rude. They lied about calling me back and when I talked to them, they acted as if I was bothering them. Their tech came out and while he was polite and acted professionally, he didn't talk to me about what he thought the cost to reprogram the gate. He "fixed" the gate but two weeks later it wasn't working again yet I received a ridiculously high bill from them. I won't be using this company again. read more

We've never had to change our gate code before so we called the number listed for CCOI on our gate to inquire about how to do this. When we asked how to do this and how to go about getting an additional gate clicker, Ashley, the girl on the phone responded as if we were inconveniencing her by calling and asking these questions. Her responses were very condescending and off-putting. We don't mind reading the manual and doing it ourselves it's just too bad she couldn't be kinder with her response. This is my first review. I am so miffed about the poor service that I received from CCOI, that I had to write to alert others. I called CCOI four times over the last month and did not receive a single return call, even after I spent nearly $60,000 with the company over the last decade or so. This poor level of service is simply intolerable. When I finally did speak to someone, he advised that CCOI was simply "too busy" to even return my four calls. There are many other vendors out there for fencing. I suggest you contact one of those other vendors. read more

Unfortunately the great reviews rarely get posted here. So here I am, taking the time out of my busy day, to write about the continued excellent experience I have had with CCOI. We had a very difficult install. One that took several tries to make work right considering that the location of our box was 5 acres from our home and had no power or internet. I would actually grade with 0 stars if possible..My wife and I purchased a weekend house in Pebble Beach and "inherited" CCOI. Having a gate contractor in the Bay Area, we know what good service is and CCOI is the WORST. From the time we purchased the house, we found that the two gates on our house, which the previous owner had only recently purchased opened and closed "at will". Then the second gate wouldn't open with the keypad or openers. Then our main gate failed. During this time, CCOI would fail to show for scheduled appointments, but found time to appear for "emergency calls" at over $400+. Despite these service calls, the gates still were not adequately serviced. Calls to CCOI were answered by rude and surly office staff members. I am in the property management industry and have interfaced with service personnel for over 40 years and have never communicated with individuals who have such level of rudeness, lack of concern for the customer, and outright contempt. You should not consider EVER doing any business with this company. They have no integrity. read more

Big high 5 to one of the service techs, he name is Tim. He showed up to fix some issues with the apartment security gates. In no time the problems were solved. Recently called in to get my gate looked at since someone ran into my gate and took it off the hinges. Mary was very helpful and was able to get someone out to look at my gate within a reasonable time. After having the tech out to look at my gate she had a bid to me within a couple days. After my approval the experience was fast and they had my gate repaired fairly quickly. I was very pleased with the experience and will be using them in the future. read more

We've only had our gate for 2 years, but have had a consistent problem with it staying open with no way to close it. There have been 6 service calls for this. For the first six months we weren't charged, but now we're getting charges. We had two calls in two weeks recently for over $750. I ask questions of the service person Ashley and get no responses either from email requests or voicemail messages. Copying the owner does no good and he does not get involved. I am seriously frustrated with this business. The Liftmaster gate operator is fine, but its controller has had consistent issues, primarily with the loop detector. They finally changed it out telling me that the factory original was not good and was subject to failures, but the non factory unit they installed has the same issue. read more
