I have a limited size office space and found it annoying that my door was taking up almost 3ft of wall! So after some Googling I found a door that would solve my problem for my niche space. I recieved quotes from a handful of people, all of which were uncharging me for expensive custom door hinges or trying to offer alternatives which would not fit the space. When I sent the project request to Alfredo, we discussed the project in detail and, while he had never done this style of door before, assured me it would not be any more difficult than any of his other interior door projects. On top of that, after discovering that my current door was solid wood, he said we could simply reuse it and save me some money. He picked up my door, took it to his shop, and came back later that week to install it. He went above and beyond what I had envisioned and even repaired the old holes from the previous door installation (the door was preciously installed on the other side of the frame. On Friday, we were looking for 2" x 10", 16' Douglas fir. The boards were stacked just high enough to be awkward, and they were heavy and damp. The two of us must have looked slightly ridiculous wrestling them down -- yet several employees passed by and never asked if we needed help. We were also told T&G plywood was in stock. After waiting 20-30 minutes while someone "went to look," we eventually tracked down a manager who confirmed they were actually out. We spent nearly an hour there and had planned to place about a $1,000 order. The next day, we decided to try Big Creek Lumber right off Hwy 1 - very easy to get to - and what a difference. We were in the lumber yard less than five minutes when someone driving a forklift stopped, turned it off, and asked if we needed help. He walked us directly to the 2x10x16' Douglas fir. When we noticed it was damp, he immediately showed us where the kiln-dried lumber was inside the warehouse. When we still didn't find exactly what we needed, he personally walked us into the sales office, introduced us to one of the agents, and explained what we were looking for. The level of helpfulness was honestly surprising, in the best way. After finishing in the yard, we went inside for hardware. Even in the store, multiple people checked in to see if we needed assistance. At one point, even another customer offered help! The lumber yard is huge, the staff is attentive, and the entire experience was efficient and pleasant. We'll absolutely be back.
