We went here because another similarly rated Italian restaurant in town was full. We should have gone elsewhere. For starters, some of the waitstaff were dressed like it was a day at Hampton Beach. Seriously. Then there was the uninspired food. It was the equivalent of a mediocre version of fast-food hamburger. Sure, it's a hamburger but it in no way resembles what you'd eat off the grill in your backyard. It was so uninspired I'm uninspired to write anything further about it. Use to be one of my favorite places to eat but the service has gone way down hill...I'm just talking the bar area where I always eat. Ordered a pizza which CC's use to be famous for. Got the procuitto artichoke pizza and seriously there was maybe 6 small, I mean tiny, pieces of procuitto on the entire pizza and maybe, just maybe 2 or 3 chopped up artichoke pieces! Put some topping on the pizza will you! It was blah. The couple next to us ordered the Rustic pizza that is suppose to have chicken on it....couldn't tell if there was any or not, looked like a cheese pizza with a few lumps thrown on. I'll prob still go there and get an entree but never another pizza for the price they charge the the lack of toppings. read more

My family and I stopped for dinner and had a great experience. The food was above average but in line with the cost. The waitstaff was quick and worked well together. Decent Italian meal tonight. Very convenient location for me as I live right around the corner. Food was fresh and service was prompt and efficient. This is another place that seems sort of hit or miss. A few times the food was good, a few times not so good. It's extremely noisy between the bar and dining area. Hard to hold a conversation. The female bartenders are great. The male.. not so great. Lunch is usually more enjoyable than dinner. We go because it's not far from home, but there are much better places in Concord. read more

This is hands down the best Italian restaurant in NH. Their prices are reasonable the portions are perfect! Excellent drinks, wonderful staff. I highly recommend the Alfredo sauce dishes. I relocated here from NY with my wife last year and when we get home sick this is our place to go!!! If we can't make it down for dinner from Laconia then I typically stop in and pick up our meals to have at home. This is the only Alfredo sauce served in NH that even compares to true NY Italian, it shows when you reheat the sauce at home and it does not separate. Any true lover of foods will tell you that is impressive!!! 5 stars all the way!!!! read more

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Concord. Past three experiences have been very disappointing. I remember ordering an entree and it was so good and enough for lunch the next day. Lately it's not so much pasta and an overload of sauce. Also, last time we got pizza super disappointing. This restaurant serves its purpose, if you're looking for a decent Italian meal in Concord, NH - but you definitely have to go with the mindset that we're not in the North End of Boston anymore, Toto. With that said, food is decent, and you get what you pay for. Wine selection is decent. Atmosphere leaves a little to be desired, but I heard it is nice sitting outside in the summer. Waitstaff is fantastic! No, I don't know any of them personally. I just know our waitresses have always been prompt, friendly, and considerate. One drawback: no espresso. I think it could be worse than the Olive Garden. The food took FOREVER to come out and when it finally did, the appetizers were soggy. Fried calamari shouldn't be like a stew. I'm not sure if that was the cook's fault or the waitresses' fault. When the entrees finally came, they were hot...VERY HOT. Food does not get that hot unless it's been microwaved. It was hot through to the core and took well over five minutes before it was edible. Do yourself a favor, stay home, open a jar of sauce and make your own pasta, it's the same thing and a lot cheaper, faster and I can bet better flavor. read more

After reading a couple positive reviews that were from not too long ago, my husband and I decided to take our young daughter there. To say the least, we were very disappointed. The staff was friendly enough, but they seemed to spend a lot of time socializing with each other (I'll acknowledge it wasn't super busy since it was a little early in the evening). I guess we should have been more concerned when the specials were not really Italian dishes (pulled pork sandwich). Drinks came quickly and food came relatively quickly too (a good point). The rolls were very good, though I highly doubt they were homemade, maybe home cooked from a package of frozen rolls. Salad was reasonably fresh. As for the main part of the meal, I had spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was very canned tasting, and the meatballs were so incredibly dense they were hard to swallow. Having grown up with a mother who makes sauce and meatballs, I can only guess this sauce was out of a can and the meatballs were cooked from frozen. My husband had the five and dime (I think it was called). It was shrimp and steak tips. He said the shrimp clearly were frozen and did not taste good at all. He ate 2 and left the rest. The cocktail sauce that came with them was still partly frozen in the little bowl it came in. The steak tips were ok, nothing exciting. My daughter had chicken fingers and fries. The fries were pretty good, the chicken had no real flavor, definitely no seasoning (I'm guessing definitely not freshly made) While the prices weren't too bad, the meal was extremely disappointing and I wouldn't pay that much to go out and eat somewhere when I could take all those things out of my freezer at home and make them. We had really hoped to find a decent, family friendly, Italian establishment in town and this was not good. We will not be returning. read more

I found CC Tomatoes a few years ago when we stopped for lunch while I was house hunting. I loved the food so much that I wanted to buy a house near there simply because it was near there! I have been back several times and brought friends and family and we are never disappointed. I am not a pizza person but if I'm having pizza, I want CC's. My favorite is the Black and Blue Salad and their calamari (best I have ever had). Their french onion soup is also the best ever, really flavorful. I seriously haven't ever had a bad meal there. I drove up from New York City to visit my daughter last Saturday and she said let's go back to C C Tomatoes for dinner. Mind you, the last time we went, the service was mediocre and not all the food arrived at the table. But, since my daughter wanted to go, we went. We had a party of 7, and when we arrived, we were told that it would be 20 minute to a half hour wait. We agreed to this and sat in the area between the inner doors and the outer doors. We watched as a number of people left and not as many entered. After approximately 35 minutes, my daughter went inside to find out how much longer the wait would be. She was told another 20 minutes or so. We all got up and left. All they had to do was let us know that the wait was going to be longer, as a courtesy, but they seemed to be ok with letting us sit there and wait. Ii know it was a Saturday evening, but common courtesy would have been nice. That's strike 2. Not sure if there will be a strike 3. read more

It's a nice casual Italian/Pizza place. The staff is very friendly and all seemed happy. I sat in the bar and it was full on a Wednesday night. The menu looks very good but I just ordered the Imperial pizza. The small is quite large so I am assuming the portions are large for everything. I am not a lover of large portions over quality so give me a fair portion that is to die for any day. I wanted the pizza to be incredible but it was just OK and rather bland. The crust did not have much flavor and the toppings were sparse. Overall an OK experience and I may try it again but will taste one of the dinners next time. It was busy so the large portions may be their secret sauce but as a traveling fool or foodie it was just OK. Worth a try but I would recommend trying one of their more popular dinners vs pizza. Yikes - To say this place is less than mediocre would be to give it more credit. Skip the "brick oven pizza" and get a frozen one from the supermarket, any number of them would be better. We just happen to find this on Google driving back from Loon Mountain and thought, "How bad can it be?" Sadly it can be pretty bad. Stay away and go into downtown Concord proper. We had not been to CC Tomatoes in quite awhile - the food and service had not been anything great so we had not made an effort to get back there. However, we have been there twice in the past month and both times the food was very good, the service was excellent, and the overall experience was great. We have had everything from the Chicken Limon to pizza to the mozzarella balls (appetizer) and all have been very good. The staff is willing to substitute sauces (I wanted to stay away from the heavy cream-based sauce listed on the menu for the dish I wanted and it was not problem to switch to a marina sauce), and very attentive and friendly. I certainly hope our recent experiences there are indicative of what we can expect going forward. We are looking forward to a return visit soon. read more

Was there early on Saturday night and the place was hopping. We were greeted at the door and were able to get the last available booth. Nice selection of daily specials~appetizers as well as dinners. Our server was amazing~right on top of her game. Promptly came to the table to take our drink order. Brought our drinks as well as water and warm rolls. The rolls were quite tasty as we perused the extensive menu. We both finally decided meat lasagna, and cheese tortellini with pesto. Meals come with either soup or salad. Be careful not to fill up on the bread because the servings are enormous! We didn't see 1 person leave without a go-box. Both meals were delicious with enough leftover for another night. There was a steady stream of customers, both dining in & orders to go. This will definitely become my new go to place. Great food, service and ambience at a fair price! read more

We like the food but the service isn't dependably good. Im not one to leave reviews usually and almost never tip less than 20% but last night's service sucked. Our server looked fresh from the gym in workout leggings and cross trainers. So not appropriate for the atmosphere and type of food they serve. The closest thing in town is the Olive Garden where the food is cheaper and they have some sort of dress code. My five year old's burger was cooked medium rare, and had our server checked in or even passed our table, she would've known we sent it back to the kitchen with another server. Ten minutes later and after my husband and I had finished eating she asked how our meal was. Well, my daughter hadn't had hers yet. There seems to be little communication between the servers. We got THE SAME burger (with one little bite missing from my daughter) back 15 mins after it went back to the kitchen and it was closer to medium now and cold. Server took almost the cost of the burger off our check, but it killed the experience and I'd hesitate to go back. read more

We called in an order for two meals that are supposed to include soup or salad and dinner rolls. When my husband came home, the rolls were MIA! I called them up and asked if rolls were included with take out or not? "Yes, but we ran out of rolls for today" REALLY? I told her I wished she would have let us know that before we placed the order (at just under $40.00)! Her response: "Sorry, I'll make sure we tell you that next time" UGH! Not impressed with this establishment, especially when the meal portions are okay for a child, not really enough for an adult and missing the bread which completes the meals. Soggy pasta, tiny salad and soggy Broccoli to boot! This is the second time we were disappointed in our take out from CC's. So much for giving second chances. Next time we'll go elsewhere.
