Sal's is the most edible pizza in Concord at the moment. This is not saying much. However, the folks that work there are always chatting you up, in a good way. We can't say that about any other pizza place in Concord. It's a typical pizza joint, which we do enjoy. Not much to the place, but not much is needed. They do a good job. I'll give credit to the manager. I thank him for giving me a refund after I wasted $22 on the dryest pizza i've ever encountered in my life. It's almost like toddlers were back there making this pizza. They put a small dollop of sauce in the middle of the pizza, didn't spread it out. And so the entire pizza tasted like dry dough and cheese. Any other place is far better than here. Domino's even does an exceptional job with making sure they have the correct ratio of Sauce/ Cheese. Visiting Concord and shopping nearby, we decided to try what Sal's is noted for, their specialty pizza. My wife and I had the Tomato Caprese slice, which consisted of Tomato, Fresh Basil, Garlic, Ricotta, Balsamic Vinaigrette, Mozzarella, Light Cheddar, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and Oregano + Parmesan Mix. This was our first visit to Sal's. We were passing through and looking for a quick bite to eat. We ordered 2 large pizzas and 1 garden salad with drinks. The customer service was fantastic. Everyone behind the counter was so nice. Our food took about 20 minutes and was piping hot. The house dressing on the salad was yummy! It was very busy and everyone was quickly taken care of. If I had a negative I would say the tables were a little sticky and the bathroom could use a little love. Will definitely visit Sal's again in the future! read more

I was visiting the Concord, NH area and heard about Sal's and immediately knew I had to check it out. This pizza place is a local favorite and I can see why: the pizzas are massive and the selection is top notch. If you can imagine a combination of pizza toppings then Sal's probably has it, including 11 different vegetarian pizza options alone. You can get whole pizzas or single slices and Sal's also offers calzones and desserts (the cannolis were great). I ordered a selection of different slices and was very impressed. The price is a bit higher than some pizza joints but you pay for the quality and the size of the slice/pie. And let me tell you I was amazed. The staff is super friendly, the location has great parking, and the pizza is the best I've ever had. I've tried a few of their pizza slices (and they have many to choose from) but I've settled as the Mexican pizza being my favorite. I'll include a picture of it. But if the toppings aren't to your satisfaction well you're in luck because they have many to choose from. I used to think Sal's was a decent pie... Then I started getting some lemons & realizing it's just fair at best. I asked what was in their dough & sauce and no one knew. A more up-to-speed worker told me "all the ingredients are bought from companies like Gordon foods, all we do literally in flatten the dough, throw on the ingredients, & cook it. We don't make anything." That was kind of the last straw. I started making pizzas at home again & oh man, now I remember what REAL pizza is supposed to taste like! Just had lunch today with a friend at Sal's in Concord. We both order slices of the meat lovers pizza and I added a slice of a veggie combo (green peppers and onions). My friend dove in directly without reheating but I waited to get mine warm up. First the good. Both slices are double size so I essentially had half a large pizza (and yes one 'slice' came home). No shortage of toppings either. Sauce was okay (better then some but not what I remember from Sal's in Lawrence). Cheese was plentiful but also just okay. Service was fast and extremely friendly (and they were very busy- hordes of workers and junior firefighters!) Seating was okay but tables lacked condiments (you had to go fetch your own parma and pepper flakes- typical now I guess). One small knock, cost for two slices and a Pepsi came to $15. Seems a bit high but maybe that's the Concord market. Cost and middle road tasting brought this to 4 stars but staff earned 5! Sorry no pictures this time! read more

Had the Stromboli, it came out of the oven dripping with super watery tomato sauce. Texture was not great and I ultimately threw it away. My husband got one with NO Sauce and his was ok. We weren't thrilled with the fool but it was kid friendly and the kids loved the cheese pizza. read more

I'm not sure why I keep going back beyond it being the only place in town that does a thin crust margherita (or a Margherita period). The problem is that they load it with so much sauce (which...
