My nail cuticles bled during the appointment
    Michelle T.

My nail cuticles bled during the appointment. The tech went too aggressively and hurt my cuticles to the point it bled and I voiced my concerns and she said they always do it this way. My fingers burned with the chemicals and I'm very worried of an infection. I was coming here but will not be coming back.

Got a gel powder manicure and regular pedicure. Unfortunately did not get a good result for the $86 I paid using class pass.

I have been doing my pedicure here for the past 1 year mostly with Nancy or Lina and it's always flawless. Today I tried manicure as well with Kiki and it's A+++ Check photos and video

I've been a loyal customer to CC nails for over a year now. The ladies at this establishment are super sweet and accommodating. I am sad that I'm moving out of the neighborhood because I love just being able to hop over to CC Nails for a mani/pedi as a pick me up! QQ is my girl!!!! She's always up for a challenge. I bring her so many random mail inspo photos and she usually knocks it out of the park! Get the loyalty card if you intend on visiting often! Prices are super reasonable and overall superb nail salon. I always enjoy going.

What I asked for and they did it happily!

Great spot in Murray Hill, my new go to! During the day they're never too busy so you can walk-in no problem and they're nail techs are very detail oriented. I always ask for difficult nail designs and they do it until it's perfect! Also highly recommend the 10-minute massage add on and callous removal add on. They really prefer if you pay in cash! There is an ATM in there if you forget.

    Bleeding nails

This place deserves zero stars. I am bleeding and in so much pain and they still charged me for everything I went through. I asked them for almond and they could not get the shape down and made them shorter and shorter until I bled. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!

Messy paint work and ugly cuticles.

Disaster! I was there for 2 1/2 hours for a regular mani pedi. No one in there could understand what I was saying and it seems like they all had eye problems. I had two separate people work on me. Both of them didn't know their procedure for a manicure. They didn't want to touch my cuticles unless I asked and didn't soften my nails at all. They cut my nails dry it which led them to crack in the corners which led them to file my nails much shorter and rounder than I wanted. They were also crooked. My toenails were not cut as much as I did ask. They do a terrible job filing where the corners had pieces of nail and skin fraying on every finger. The color wasn't painted on my whole nail and I kept having to ask them to fill in the missing parts. When they did fill in the missing color the paint ended up all on my skin. They had to redo two separate nails. I ended up bleeding at one point. When I asked for them to clean the paint off my skin, they didn't see that it was messy to all. To top it off, I paid before they finished the job, which was a mistake. The price I was charged was $7 more than the price on their website. They told me there was nothing they could do because the owner doesn't come into the store all the time and neither doesn't Manager. I'm essentially out of luck having paid extra for a manicure that looks terrible.

It truly creates a relaxing atmosphere. However, I've noticed that the quality of the mani & pedi has declined over the years, which has made me hesitant to return, even though it's in the most convenient location for me. These days when I returned, it's just for last minute color change to avoid more damage. I referred a friend to join me for a mani/pedi once, and she also mentioned that while the ambiance is great, but the owners should get their own mani & pedi done by their technicians, which I completely agree with. While I usually don't like getting my cuticles pushed or cut, I really appreciate that they respected that preference. However, when it comes to removing polish, it's done very recklessly with a lack of attention to detail. On several occasions, they've scraped the skin around the nails--sometimes cutting it to the point where it bled and required a bandage. When I mentioned this to the hostess after she asked for feedback, she dismissed it by saying I have sensitive skin. Since when is it normal for skin to be scraped during a mani/pedi? Additionally, I've had gel mani here twice in a row, and the technician over-shaved to the point where my nails ended up paper-thin that I have to ask the technician to apply extra coats to make up for it. One time, the technician even touched my skin with the machine that is used to shave the gel polish off. I've also had my skin scraped during pedicures, which is concerning. Every time I get a gel mani, within two weeks, the polish would start to lift on the cuticle side, which shows a lack of precision during the application. My friend got a regular mani & pedi here, and one of her nails chipped within a day. While I still love the atmosphere and the owners, the decline in the quality of the services, especially regarding polish removal, nail care, and attention to detail, has made me hesitant on coming back.

The interior design of the space is what pulled my attention when walking up 9th Ave. It is chic yet accessible and never approaches being or feeling gaudy. Very clean look (and space). Great color palate used. Very comfortable chairs. Good use of white space accentuated with green angular paint and golden decals and other ornamentations, all done minimally and with purposeful placement. Carmen (my nail tech) made good efforts and took obvious care to give me a nice buff manicure, all for only $27 (+ a small amount of tax). No nips or cuts. No pain. Textbook technique. Picked up well on when I wanted to zen out to the aura of the space and the well-curated spa playlist vs when I was open to a little nail tech kiki. Loved the sugar scrub they use for the hand massage. I take ownership for not getting the pre-cuticle work nail soak as part of the provided service. IMO, if a nail salon doesn't automatically incorporate the soak into your mani, you as the customer should speak up when the softening gel is pulled out and before it is applied. If they don't offer it? That's another thing. But I didn't test those waters and cannot speak to Nail Me Right (goodness gravy I love the business name!). So, keep in mind if the soak is your thing. They were very accommodating from the moment I arrived until I left. So I have a hunch this request wouldn't be a problem. Same with the end result. You as the customer are responsible for checking your nails / hands / feet / whatever before ending the appointment. I was late for my next appointment and did not, later seeing I would've like a little extra work done where the far end of nail edges meets the finger and a shinier buff applied. Again, I am quite sure Carmen would have accommodated had I done my part and spoken up before leaving. Still, I woke up the next morning to those slight extra bits naturally working themselves out (which points to the moisturizing measures NMR applies being of good quality), and my hand looking nice. I plan to pop in next time I'm in the area and in the market for some nail / hand / foot love, and hope you'll consider doing the same to support this family and what they're working to bring to the neighborhood.
