I absolutely love this place and the instructors!! I just wish it was a bigger studio with more space for classes. I usually have to squeeze one in before 7am since I work all day (but it's so worth it). Every class I've taken, I've left feeling like I accomplished an epic workout. The check in desk employees are so nice and welcoming. I've taken a few friends here for their first spin class and they didn't feel awkward or like they were new. Everyone rides as a team, but also sets individual goals. You feel like you're with a family (but also getting your booty kicked). A few of my favorite instructors: Crystal - she's sweet and sassy, and I LOVE her setlist! She will work your legs harder than you can imagine but the class goes by so quick. She usually teaches early in the morning and is a ray of sunshine (especially when the sun isn't even up yet)! Catalina - definitely one of the classes I look forward to because it's always different. She combines arm movements to go with the beat of the music so I leave work sore arms and legs! Lisa - Lisa is a CRACK UP. Her personality makes me forget I'm working out because I'm having so much fun. She plays rock music, 80s, and then music you would blast in your car on the way to Vegas...it's a little of everything. I was not happy to hear that my cousin had signed me up for a cycling class on Thanksgiving morning. I generally like fitness classes and various types of physical activity, but I had convinced myself that cycling just wasn't for me. CB CycleBarn quickly shattered that skepticism and reluctance. Hell, it may have even changed my life. Before CB, I just didn't "get" stationary cycling. Why all that churning to get nowhere? What I didn't realize is that it's not just about spinning a wheel. It's not about sitting on your butt and moving your legs in circles. There's a lot more to it. In class, I engaged a lot more of my body than I expected. I had my butt off the seat for most of the time and felt almost like I was dancing (intensely) at a club. I was bobbing up and down to the beats, engaging my core, crunching, and doing push-ups off the handlebars. All movements I did not expect to do on a stationary bike. All movements that I hadn't previously considered part of cycling. And the sweat. Yeah, gross or whatever, but I find it so satisfying when I'm drenched during/after a workout. It's proof that you worked hard. And a great detox. I wish I could say I'll be back often - but I am not local. However, I'll make it a point to cycle here whenever I'm back visiting family. I'm going to be looking for a cycling studio near where I live and plan on making this a regular thing. I've gained more than 10 pounds over the past year or so. I've always been conscious of it and unhappy about it. I always feel a little bit embarrassed and ashamed every time a new picture of me gets posted to Facebook. And yet I continued to trend towards eating more and exercising less. This was the jumpstart I needed to get back into a more active lifestyle. I hope it does the same for others too. read more

I've never done a spin class and holy cow I can barely sit as I write this ;) I had no idea what to expect, but everyone who worked there was SO nice and welcoming. I will definitely be back- 5 free classes? YES PLEASE! My girlfriend goes regularly so it'll be super convenient to tag along for the free classes :) The hour went by semi fast, considering I was trying my hardest to keep up. The instructor was really motivating and even said "for those who are beginners or it's their first time, don't expect to be able to do everything I'm doing right now. It'll come with practice" so that made me feel so much better! The building is SO clean and they even provide towels during the class AND an ice cold towel after. Great workout! I started spin this year to get back in shape and improve my endurance for paddling. After several weeks at another club I was looking for a better place without the distractions of people coming in and out during class. CB Cyclebarn has me hooked on Indoor Cycling. My wife and I like to book our bikes in advance and know that we have a seat to burn it up at 5:30 am. The cold towel and the email with your stats is a bonus. I was recommended CB CycleBarn by Ashley from Tutor Doctor. I was the guy in the gym always lifting and not doing enough cardio. I knew this 2015 I needed to put my heart rate monitor to good use and why not try out cycling!?! Ashley showed me some awesome videos on YouTube of what to expect when going to a group work out. I quickly realized that its a fun place and it has been helping me reach my personal goals. CB is super motivating and I look forward to going there everyday after the office. The staff is really friendly and the facility is super clean. The staff does a wonderful job maintaining the equipment and making sure its ready for the next person to use. I joined CB about five months ago and am absolutely thrilled with my decision to do so. At first I was concerned I would be the only guy there or that I was not physically fit to keep up with the group. That said, I really needed a low-impact cardio solution so I decided to take advantage of the trial offer to see if these were real concerns or just in my head. What I found was a very friendly and professional environment with plenty of other guys. And despite never cycling before, I was able to learn on the fly and keep up with the class. Within two weeks, I got used to the bike and have been going about three times per week since. I feel lucky to have found such an engaging and fun workout without the wear and tear that the bootcamps were taking out on my knees. The best thing about CB, is that you can adjust the workout to meet your individual goals (strength vs. endurance) while feeding off of the energy of the group, music and instructors. I really love CB and respect Karen and her team for how well they run CB. I would recommend you give it a try if you are not fully satisfied with your current cardio program or even if you just want more variety in your training. You will be glad you did! read more

Bought a Groupon for CB cycle barn a week ago and booked a class online, showed up to the address listed and it appears to be out of business. No signs anywhere but the same address that is listed online and on the Groupon for San Clemente location. Windows are boarded up. The only way I could tell it used to be the spin studio is the logo stickers on the window. Tried to call and the number is out of service? Why would you sell a Groupon for a business that is out of service? Feeling scammed and very annoyed I wasted my time and money on a place that no longer exists read more

I take a couple classes a week with two awesome instructors, Sonny and Catalina. It's always fun and boy do they make you sweat - they provide towels. Friendly front staff, cold towels at the end of your ride, and an easy process to schedule/cancel your session online. After your class, you'll receive an e-mail with your performance summary - calories, total miles, avg/max RPM, etc. My advice is to reserve your spot at least a few days before desired date because the classes fill up quickly. As someone who works in the hearing aid industry, it's nice to know that CycleBarn cares about the importance of hearing protection. You can grab a pair of earplugs at the front desk. read more

I love the energy of this place! I have taken classes all over orange county and this is my favorite. All of the instructors are really upbeat and conduct fun, challenging classes. I love the variance in music. It's rarely the same song and parking is really easy. I am getting old these days so sometimes the music is a tad loud but they also provide ear plugs... and other nice amenities like a clean bathroom, lounge area, cute clothing boutique, extra rubber bands and these AMAZING ice-cold lavendar scented wash cloths to wipe off the sweat at the end of each ride. So glad this place is doing well! read more

Clean and Easy easy easy to go to if you're new to the area or cycling. Easy to find, great parking etc. Lisa was the instructor this morning and she was awesome. Good music and upbeat coaching. I have been going to Cycle Barn for over a year now and I am addicted! While my favorite hobby/activity is surfing, cycling has quickly become my second favorite activity. It's actually improved my Surfing due to the leg and core strength it builds!! I LOVE cycle barn! Much more so than other competing cycle studios. The place is super clean all the time and they always have fruit out! Karen, the owner, is the BEST! My favorite instructor is Brett. She plays great music! I do have one complaint: the young girl who works at the front desk. She is very rude and isn't welcoming at all. The Sunday 4:30pm REFRESH is one of my favorites. At the end of class the staff provides cold cloths with aroma therapy for an instant recovery. AMAZING for beginners! Actually the cycle barn is fantastic for everyone. I've heard really experienced cyclists, indoor and out, say that there is no place that compares to the staff, the atmosphere, the bikes and technology, and ESPECIALLY the customer service. I'm really appealing potential beginners. I was so intimidated to try indoor cycling. It seemed so intense and difficult. I thought I would feel out of place and look foolish. I was surprised to find exactly the opposite. People were sooo welcoming and helpful. They seemed so happy to have me there and quickly got me going. I was so happy to learn that the lights would be down and that no one would be able to see how I was doing! Also, I would be the one determining how hard it would be for me. And because no one could see how much resistance I was riding with, my beginning status would be my own little secret! (Unlike yoga where you might visibly topple over while twisted like a pretzel!) Anyway, cut to two years later, four days a week and I'm totally addicted, just as I had heard people say that I would become! I love it more every time! I was recently reminded of all this, because I had been out for a few weeks after being sick. I was afraid that I would be so behind and horribly out of shape. But then they lowered the lights, pumped up the music, and even though I didn't have all my strength, no one could tell!!!! I turned down my resistance, and finished my first class back lookin' like a 47 year old rockstar (in my mind!) Best place on earth. If you're intimidated or afraid to get started, give it a try anyway. The CB Cyclebarn will change your mind and maybe even your life! Great place to work out! I used to be very athletic but work and school had got be too busy and lazy to work out. I heard about cycle barn on Facebook and decided to go in and check it out. Everyone who works there is REALLY nice and they give 5 free classes for locals so you can try out different instructors. It got me back into the swing of working out and it's so much fun! I came here for the first time today as a guest. I've worked in the health club industry for 10+ years and have taken a bajillion indoor cycling classes with dozens for amazing instructors. With that being said, today's class with Sonny was challenging, ridiculously sweaty, super fun, and without question the best spin class I've ever taken. He was encouraging, his music was amazing, and I feel great and ready to conquer the day. At the end of class -- just when you feel like this place couldn't get any more awesome, icy cold towels are delivered to you on a platter. Not joking.
