Super super late on this review but I went in late 2020 to treat myself before my birthday... I guess it shows the instructor if its your birthday because she asked me about it after class. She then asked how old I was and then said "yeah I would have guessed that". No joke. I'm a big pilates girl but I refuse to go back here because comments like that are super rude and unnecessary in spaces that are predominantly patronized by women. read more

One of the best workouts I've ever tried! I've read up on the Lagree Method and since I am familiar with a Pilates reformer, I thought I'd give it a shot. Well, the name Pilates PLUS truly means something. As with any gym/workouts classes, you have to learn the moves/lingo. And I quickly realized that this is no ordinary Pilates class, it's so much more. My muscles/core were challenged throughout the class and I could feel my muscles working hours post workout. I've taken 5 classes so far and each class has been a challenge for me, which it should be. My abs, arm, and legs look more tone and define. Love the flow, the intensity, music, and overall vibe of the space. All the instructors are great. I've taken 2 classes taught by Ava and she kicks my butt!!! Went running today, Wednesday, and inner thighs still sore from Kacee's class Monday. Intensity was way up. Love Gianna for slower, deeper work. Just had Amy once so far but also loved. You can't go wrong here, all the instructors are great. Perfectly sequenced, helpful cueing. All around friendly studio, easy going, kind. After the first class I could see more definition and am just generally feeling stronger. The best part is despite my cookie eating habit, I'm getting my abs back, thanks guys! read more

I walked in today was helped by Ava who was wonderful, was super excited to start a 2 week trial. Had trouble booking classes so called and the manager, who was a little arrogant. Told me they haven't had that promo in 2 years (as if I should have known, was her attitude). Lisa was very attentive & made sure I was doing the workout properly. She also helped me maneuver the Pilates board & strings which was tremendous help for a first-timer. UPDATE: In response to the owner's comment, I'd like to state that in San Francisco, cost of living (including rent) is SO much higher than in Orange County and the monthly membership was only $10 more per month than PPOC, and they provided free towel service, had a larger space, and was also a small studio (only 12 megaformer machines) yet their cancellation policy was 12 hours. So no, I am not talking about those huge yoga studios that accommodate 50+ people, I am talking apples vs. apples, and PPOC seems like somewhat of a ripoff in comparison. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I did a year or two of pilates megaformer in SF, and after a few years' hiatus, I decided to try it out again. Unfortunately the LN studio was a far cry from the bright, airy, spacious studio I used to go to. The place feels cramped and small. The cancellation policy is the most ridiculous I have ever seen out of every single pilates, yoga, barre, etc studio I have ever been to (and I workout a lot) - who has ever heard of a 24-hour cancellation window?! The most I have seen was 12 hours, but this is absolutely ridiculous and just a way to get your money since once you go within 24 hours, you gotta pay a late cancel fee. No towels are given either, whereas my last megaformer studio provided towels - not just for wiping up sweat, but to also use as padding / nonslip grips for the platforms when doing plank, etc. I bought their 2-week special deal for $49, but I definitely won't be extending my membership past that. read more

I have so many good things to say about PPOC I probably will end up forgetting a few! The studio itself is great! Clean and easy to get to, plus ample parking. All, literally every single one, of the instructors are AMAZING. I have never met a crew so in sync, positive, and motivating! They are so good about working with you to make modifications, easier AND harder! For those of us that are ADDICTED to the challenge and shakes! Gotta love the burn!!! I started with the Groupon and was instantly hooked after the first month. I did 4 months of the Lagree method here and have gotten in the best shape of my life, not only physical but mind AND soul! Pilates Plus OC - Pilates Near Me - Laguna Niguel, California

I just bought a two week trial at this location for $49. They have great teachers(Kacee, Paige, Ava and Veronica are my personal favorites) and it's a great location for me. My constructive criticism is, (I find this at most studios) PLEASE PUT THE AIR ON. Also they say to get there ten minutes before class and every time I'm waiting for them to finish and clients aren't clearing out so machines aren't available so they need to be more consistent about starting on time or maybe set the times to 10 min more of a gap, oh and don't forget the ARMS every workout. I love lagree Pilates , much better than club Pilates in my opinion and harder too!! P.S. I've also had problems with my auto pay here and the billing several times, I've had charges that should not have been there, check your account! read more

I really want to be fair and honest. My honesty is for hose people like me who depend on reviews to make a decision. The good, Sarah the instructor was sweet as can be. Helpful and attentive. The facility it clean and well kept. The painful truth. I read beginners welcome, I called in advance and spoke to a very nice women named Jameson who said yes beginners are welcome. Well, the class was like Pilates and steroids. The women next to me said this class was similar to a Barr 3, what ever that mean. We didn't do any thing with the straps but row. The class was SO difficult. I actually had to have Sarah give her hand just to get up and down from the platform... not the bench a platform. I wish someone would have reviewed how difficult this Pilates store was, I wish when I called I wasn't lead to believe beginners. I tweaked my back so bad it's been 3 days and I still can hardly move. They can keep my money. I just hope my review helps beginners like me. read more

First class this morning with Kacee! Great workout, fun loud music, great energy and encouragement from instructor! The 50 minutes went by really quick! I'm 53, no experience with pilates! This forced me to work my core (I struggle wi h this)... I normally wo in the gym and get on stairclimber or ride beach bike for cardio...I feel like this will get me both tight and limber!! Use to do Pilates Plus 4-5 times a week and am just getting back into it. I bought a groupon, emailed this location and they set everything up for quickly so I could sign up for a class. The studio is clean, a little cramped but has great instructors, good music, a water cooler with fancy water and sells all your Pilates needs. They oversell their classes so it's difficult to get in. They don't allow you to make your own reservations if you come in on a Groupon so you have to count on them to sign you up for the classes which all require reservations. There are only 10 machines and very limited class times. I personally regret spending money on something I can't use (only one class time works with my schedule). In terms of the workout, it's good for extremely athletic people. It's nothing like traditional Pilates so they should scrap that part of it. But still a challenging workout which requires a lot of core strength. read more

I love this place. In 50 minutes you get a full body workout that will leave all of your muscles fatigued and your body shaking! I've just begun last week and every workout is different so its muscle confusion and I have always come away exhausted, but in a great way. Great for your full body and core. I've done triathalons, yoga, weights, SUP, regular pilates and nothing compares. It's pricey, but addictive and I know I will be in the best shape within a month, without any strain on my joints. Hallelujah!! Praise Pilates Plus.. my derrière has returned to it's original starting point! I LOVE PILATES PLUS!! I found Pilates Plus on facebook a few months back. They had just won #1 pilates studio in OC for the 3rd year and I kept seeing posts about it online. It got my attention. I have been taking pilates reformer classes for years. I started at the YMCA 11 years ago, moved on to John Garey and then YogaWorks. I have always loved pilates, specifically reformer classes but felt they lacked a cardio element. I often never even broke a sweat in my reformer classes. I never left feeling like I had gotten a really great, incredible workout. In addition to the pilates classes I was taking, I also had to squeeze in another 40 minutes of cardio. Not at Pilates Plus though. No way, no how.. they pack it all in!! YES!!! I get the same high quality pilates work out and it is intermixed with moves that get my heart rate up. Long, lean, toned muscles and fat burning. I've died and gone to workout heaven. I am able to get my entire workout done in 50 minutes. This is incredible. Additionally I noticed HUGE changes in my body. After the 3rd week I could feel my core tightening up and my toosh was lifting and getting rounder. By week 6 I had defined, firm obliques! I'm addicted to class now. I've never taken a 'bad' class. I enjoy all the instructors and the music is fantastic. I actually have fun while working out. I'm in South Laguna and the studio is only 4 miles from me as well. Super easy to get to from Laguna Beach and the price is incredible compared to what you have to pay at any one of the boutique fitness places in town for any type of fitness class!! With my unlimited monthly, taking 4 classes per week - I'm only paying $8.68 per class. Oh my gosh. I just got even more excited about this place. Less than $10 a class for this sort of workout. AMAZING. It's a steal. Parking is plentiful as well. I clearly see what all the fuss was about and it's no wonder they were voted #1 pilates studio in Orange County for 2011, 2012 & 2013. A bad local business with worst business ethics. I first called a few times and no one answered but was encouraged to email so I emailed the studio requesting for some information about joining the gym. Right away, I get a response welcoming me and get a phone call asking for my CREDIT CARD information OVER THE PHONE. I was very taken a back by the fact and did not have the card on me so I asked the lady (who never revealed her name in her emails/calls) if I can just process the transaction at the studio the next day. She said there is no receptionist and the instructors cannot process it at the studio so she will call me back in two hours. It was getting late so I called her twice but she NEVER called me back. So I emailed her letting her know I had called twice JUST TO SIGN UP for a 7:00 AM class the next morning. She does not reply back until 8:45PM asking if we can talk then and if we could not, she would call me in the morning. Knowing that I wanted to start at 7:00 AM, she never ever followed up with me the next morning. Tired of waiting, I went into the studio for the 9:30 class and signed myself up with the instructor. After my two week trial, what do I see on my credit card statement? a $30 random charge from the Newport Beach location. I emailed asking what the charge was and they (because no one ever signs their emails here and you feel like you are talking to a mysterious person who just wants your money) send a screen shot of two "late cancellations." I then explained I had mistakenly canceled the 8:30 Sunday class which I re-booked/attended for and the other class I had canceled was a 7:00 Sunday class so I could go to that 8:30 Sunday class instead. I had cancelled/rebooked the classes the night before AND I made sure the classes had plenty of availability. I also sent them a screen shot of "Get out of Jail Pass" which should be good for the late cancel. But I have not heard back from them at all about if they are going to honor their coupon which they clearly display on social media or honor their local clients. If this is a place where they truly want to encourage the locals to find a balance between a hectic life and a good work out, they will start answering their phones, emails and showing real actions that they care about the local communities and people in it. So far I have only experienced the opposite. It seems as this studio only wants to nickel and dime their local clients and maybe that is the reason I saw more than half of their pilates machines empty every time I went in. read more

I recently had major abdominal surgery, and my surgeon made me start Pilates. I'm a runner, and I haven't worked out in a gym for 20 years. I tried out at least five different Pilates studios in the area, and Pilates plus is far and away the best one. Most of the other places were low-key and mostly stretching. I am sore every time I come back from Pilates Plus. I usually don't go on Mondays, but went this Monday with Mimosa, and she was awesome. I was having problems with my account, and was late, and she took it all in stride and was completely professional. Honestly though, I like all the teachers there. Paige is great too. And it is never crowded. I always schedule last minute. The only thing I don't love is the music. Most of the (mostly) women in the class are 30 to 60-year-old women, and the music is misogynistic hip-hop. Honestly, every song is about hos. But maybe I'm just old. The actual Pilates is great. And I only go twice a week, and my body definitely looks much better. read more

I have been doing this form of pilates for almost a year and a half. I joined Pilates Plus in Laguna Niguel because it was closer to home and I had always heard wonderful things about the studio. The teachers here are AMAZING. They are so up beat and energetic it is amazing. They change the songs to match whether it is a slow or fast movement. You can tell they truly love their job. Most effective workout! I've been going here for about 8 months now and I have never been in better shape in my life. I have a back injury and my core is the strongest it's ever been. All the teachers will challenge you and give you the option for modifications as well. Pilates Plus here is fantastic. Hillary is a great instructor who will push your limits but will do it in a way that won't get you injured. She mixes things up so you're never doing the same routine and offers great tips if you want to do exercises at home. I am a former Div 1 athlete, and my core has never been stronger doing Pilates. I also started pilates because I kept getting runner's knee, and my physical therapist said that I need to strengthen my hips and balance my muscle strength. Pilates did that and I've been injury free for the past 4 years! read more
