What a treat we were in for when one of my colleagues who does take Moira's classes on the regular decided to book a private session for some of our team members. This adorable studio was tucked away in a plaza with so much parking. It's so clean inside, a bathroom, she even had water for us if we forgot ours. Our workout was an hour long and we definitely worked muscles we didn't even know we could make sore. I had been interested in getting back into fitness after several years but was nervous about joining a group class without much Pilates experience. But after my first session with Moira, I can't believe it took me this long. Moira is a great instructor, who is professional and always goes above and beyond in group class and private sessions. Now I come regularly, for private and group class, and have encouraged friends and family to join me as well. I can honestly say that Upgrade Pilates studio is my preferred studio, because it is smaller and gives me more one-on-one attention from the instructors. They are hands on with correcting form and ensure that the movements performed are not hurting us. The regulars in the class are great to workout with as well. I have gone to 3 (reformer spine, sculpt reformer, jump) of moiras classes and she is wonderful! Her exercises are effective, challenging and yet super fun! She also is incredibly respectful when it comes to correcting. I've been to a couple of places where you can tell they do not care, but moiras approach and presence is opposite. Highly recommend taking her classes, especially jump In terms of the studio, I love the BB studio reformers as well as the props. Great quality equipment. The studio, including the bathrooms, is clean and open. The classes are quite pricey but given the instructors and equipment, it makes sense. I love Upgrade Pilates and Bodytherapy. I've started going a while back when Irina was the only trainer. She knows everything and more about pilates, body and muscles, is very passionate about all of these and put together a wonderful team. Besides Irina, I took classes with Moira and Stacy, both correct your posture if needed, tell you how to modify certain exercises if you have an injury. About 4-6 people in the class makes it easier for trainers to look after your form and avoid injury. Irina is an awesome and her studio is gorgeous. She's incredibly attentive to small details, and takes the time to get to know your body with an intro class when you first join her studio. Irina is also so sweet and goes the extra mile to make sure that you're working the parts of the body you want to, and that the routine is working for you. I have a wrist injury right now and was worried that I would have to take some time off from group pilates, but instead she took the time and effort to accommodate for my injury, modifying/personalizing some of the exercises so that I could still do them with the rest of the class. Before Covid I'd been doing Club Pilates for about a year - Irina's classes are completely different. She focuses much more on form, making sure you're engaging the right muscles and correcting alignment issues. The muscles we work are deeper and more internal, and I've noticed that it's making my body leaner vs Club Pilates which tended to made my muscles bulk up.
