IF I could give NO STARS I WOULD. I am highly disappointed in this .. as you can see I posted a previous review in 2015 after GREAT service. I have been going to Cavi Spa for the past 5 years on and off and it has been amazing!! I have spent over $2,000 with Cavi Spa between skin care products and services. I will now explain my last and FINAL ENCOUNTER. At the beginning of 2019 I had purchased two microdermabrasion with mask specials and I had only used one. I was off from school in December 2019 and decided that I should use my other microdermabrasion and mask as a treat to myself for Christmas. I go into the room everything is fine and everything is clean no issue there. After Vicki finishes the microdermabrasion, I said can I have a different mask from the clay mask. She asks me why and I say " I have always gotten that one when I have come here so I want to try something different now". She said " I have a new mask anyway and the one we were using prior I no longer use." I said ok.. now here comes the terrible part I'm laying on the table I look over at her as she takes out the mask to prepare it... and to my surprise it is SHEA MOISTURE MUD MASK! How do I know this?!?! Because you purchase shea moisture at Target, Walmart, CVS , etc. ALSO, I HAVE THE SAME MASK AT HOME THAT I BOUT FROM TARGET FOR $10!! So you're telling me I came to a spa to have them put a over the counter mask brand on my face? And consider that a professional service? YES! That's exactly what I'm saying!! I'm beyond disappointed and the reason I wrote a review and not say anything to the owner is because I don't know who is the fault for this? She proceeded to put the mask on my face and let it sit for 15 mins. And as she put it on she is talking about how great the mask is blah blah .. I have been using this mask for a long time at home so I know the smell of the product. I didn't say anything because anyone stupid enough to provide cheap customer service deserves a poor review. I honestly don't know why I left a tip at the end, I was still in shock, looking back I should of said something in the moment. But I didn't want anyone to try to talk there way out of it because the bottle was not new which means it has been used on other people. I'm writing this review to help other people, when u go to spas look at what they are putting on your face because if your not careful they are putting products from the 99 cent store. I won't be supporting this business anymore.. and after 5 years of supporting them I am very saddened that I now have to find a new spa to attend , especially since this is so convenient. I have paid for spa quality services and I got something that I use at home, my money has been taken and now everyone should question the services they are receiving. I was a bit apprehensive at first when I called to inquire about the services. I wasn't sure which service was best for my skin. I spoke to Kathy on the phone and she offered a free consultation. I jumped on it! Nothing is ever free, especially some healthy advice. When I went in, I was first mesmerized by the beauty and cleanliness of the place. During these COVID times, it was great to see an air purifier and a clean area. Kathy was extremely nice and informative. My first impressions of Cavi Spa were that it was located in a good location, the office was very clean, and the reception was very friendly. I was greeted and taken back for a skin analysis before my peel took place. They took pictures of my skin and were very thorough on what I could hope to accomplish. I was then led into a treatment room where my peel took place. Jessica was very gentle in delivering the treatment. After it was done my face had a sheen to it, but I experienced no pain. Great experience here! I went for the VIPeel and I am on Day 3. I rarely write reviews but I felt compelled. The owner who's name is Kathy, is extremely knowledgeable and a great listener. She has created a treatment plan to address my brown spots from sun damage. The esthetician Vicki that performed my peel was also a gem-the treatment room was beautiful, extremely clean and so relaxing. Can you imagine a peel being relaxing?! I have been to Cavi several times over the past few years for some chemical peels and microderms (I'm a 43 year old male). They always treat me with professionalism and answer all of my questions. I finally tried the Vi chemical peel they had keep telling me about. I recently bought a three pack and had the treatments about 5 weeks apart for each. I have to say I was very surprised at how well the results lined up with what they told me, and the results from these three treatments were double then the results I had with 6 normal peels I had done the prior year. Me and my wife have noticed a huge difference in the eveness of my complexion, and reduction of lines on my forehead and around my eyes. I will def have another round of Vi peels next year. All I can say is wow, so glad they put out a Groupon which got me to try this place! Everyone was so knowledgeable and so patient with my mom and I. We never treat ourselves and now want to make it a monthly thing we had so much fun here we both got our skin analysis which was so interesting! They used this machine that shows you certain things about your skin and they tell you tips and tricks to help keep your skin healthy. During the analysis they decided if you should get a microdermabrasion or a skin peel we both got the skin peel. Having been on both sides of the spectrum when it comes to a cavi-lipo service. I found this place to be one of the better ones. This was my first cavi-lipo experience and it went well. As opposed to another spa which I regret going to. Cavi-Spa has: * The top of the line machine as opposed to small portable machines places buy off ebay type sites. * Pleasant and welcoming staff that seem knowledgeable of the process as well as able to speak English * Clean, quiet atmosphere * Don't surprise you with extra charges (tax) on the service (bought off groupon) Overall I had no complaints. They showed up late on my first appointment (which confused me). But I was able to call her cell which let me know she was running late from traffic. She seemed apologetic and pleasant. ** I bought their groupon only for 3 treatments because for some reason the 6 was sold out :-(. I wasn't sure about continuing the 3 extra treatments because I didn't see too much of a difference, but after leaving the 3rd appointment I felt I saw a change but already left and didn't make a 4th appointment and ended up getting another cavi-lipo groupon that was a disaster. This place really is "as good as it gets!" I'd like to start by saying that the place is IMMACULATE! Not a spec of dust or dirt in sight! I had never had Cavi, so I was a little nervous about my first time. The staff made me feel comfortable and answered all of my questions. They were patient and informative. The technicians were very knowledgeable and I eased into the sessions right away. I did notice a huge improvement in my arms right after the first session. This is mainly because I followed their pre procedure instruction. I just had my 3rd session today and the results are amazing. The results speak more to the actual Cavi treatment, but I would like to emphasize that the staff was very informative about pre and post procedure aids. I was about to purchase their services based on good reviews until i read a response from the business owner below. The customer had gotten an incorrect quote before services were performed and was requoted a higher rate after services were finished. Thats crazy to me. Either the business or technician should have eaten the charge and taken responsibility for their mistake. Furthermore, the customer had gotten bad results from the service performed here and the owner didn't even ask to inspect or offer to help correct the issues. She only stressed the credibility of the service performed. Not only did I have great results every time I went to this place, but they really know what they're doing and you can trust their advice. I went there the first time because I got a groupon for a dermabrasion, but the aesthetician recommended against that due to my sensitive skin, and did a dermalinfusion (silkpeel) instead. It's recommended to do a series of 6, and they were nice enough to honor the groupon price for all of it. (I was a broke college student and it was 2012, so I'm definitely not saying you should expect the same thing...although they really do offer good deals when you buy multiple treatments). At the same time, they recommended a home care regimen with skinceuticals that I stuck to afterwards, in place of my prior regimen which they said was inappropriate for and damaging to my skin type. After I moved to NYC, it wasn't super easy to get there, but not a lot of places offer silkpeel, and I really never got the same results with regular dermabrasions, so I ended up going back like a year ago. They did a skin analysis and compared my results to those from when I had first gone in 2012, and my skin was actually better. I aged backwards, which I have to attribute to the advice I had gotten when I first started going there. I live upstate now, and I was trying to find a place to go around here, so it reminded me of my great experience with Cavi and I wanted to drop a review because I totally forgot to do it back then. All I can say is buyer beware. This is one of the most unethical medi-spas I've ever been to. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Let me start off by saying that I have been to this place two times prior to my visit yesterday. Both times I bought a groupon for a Vi Peel and it was honored. I bought another groupon for a Vi Peel and I went yesterday. I was told it would not be honored because it is one per customer. I informed her that I purchased two prior to this visit and it was honored both times. I also told her that if you've exceeded your maximum amount of groupon purchases, groupon will not let you purchase it again. I also followed up with a screen shot as proof. Kathy tried to use every excuse she could find not to honor the purchase. First she told me that the "doctor" wouldn't allow it. I asked her to call the "doctor," and it just so happens that the "doctor" is in Israel every time I come. I have yet to see this doctor, which leads me to believe that this business that provides services that need to be administered by a doctor is doing so illegally. This situation lead me to dig a bit deeper. I found out that they advertise services that they are not licensed to perform. I will not say that I have specifically seen them "provide" these unlicensed services, but they are advertised. Then Kathy told me that groupon wouldn't allow it. That is incorrect as well because I have bought the same groupon from other companies several times and they were honored. Kathy tried to blame everyone else instead of owning up and taking responsibility herself for the issue. What she could've done was taken the groupon this time and told me that she would not honor another one after this. I took time off of work to go there to have a quick chemical peel done and it was a waste. Also, one of her aestheticians was asking her what was going on in another language and she was responding back thinking I had no idea what they were talking about. Joke's on her, because I understood every word they said and it wasn't nice at all. I held my temper while dealing with her while I was at the medi-spa and I decided to handle it by filing complaints regarding several other serious events that took place yesterday with different state agencies that are currently investigating their business practices. I am not at liberty to disclose those events at this time because they are under investigation. I will post what those offenses were once the investigation is complete (which could take a considerable amount of time). Stay away from this place.
