Undercarriage frame damage vehicle already had

DO NOT buy a vehicle or get it serviced at this dealership. I purchased this truck and within two months my brakes completely failed while I was driving down Highway 281, putting my life and others at serious risk. If I had not remained calm and been able to safely manage the vehicle on the highway, multiple lives could have been lost -- including my own. This was an extremely dangerous situation, and this dealership did not treat it with the seriousness it deserved. I immediately reached out to Zachary Hale, the General Manager. He responded once, saying they could try to fix the vehicle, but when I explained that I was no longer comfortable driving it, he stated there was nothing they could do--no trade, no solution--despite the fact that I put $5,000 cash down on this truck. What I find especially frustrating is that Zachary Hale regularly posts videos on Facebook presenting himself as someone who is involved in transactions and makes sure everything goes smoothly. That was not my experience at all. Once a serious safety issue occurred, my messages went unanswered and there was no follow-through. In my opinion, the online presence does not reflect the reality of how problems are handled when something goes wrong. When the vehicle went into the shop, things only got worse. They attempted to charge me for an oil change, even though I'm enrolled in a package that includes free oil changes. During service, they uncovered multiple issues in the undercarriage and frame, including damage that clearly existed prior to my ownership. I have not hit anything since purchasing this vehicle. The condition of the frame and undercarriage components showed wear and damage that should have been identified and disclosed before the sale. Like most buyers, I did not crawl underneath the vehicle at purchase -- something I now strongly recommend everyone start doing before buying from this dealership. On top of that, the catalytic converter was bad. This dealership tried to claim it wasn't, but two separate dealerships confirmed that it was. Selling a vehicle with a bad catalytic converter is illegal, and instead of correcting their mistake, this dealership tried to avoid responsibility altogether. The engine mount also had to be replaced, further confirming the vehicle had significant pre-existing issues. While I was physically at the dealership, I overheard employees in the service department discussing that something had just happened with a vehicle because they didn't know how to properly drive it into the service area, and that an employee had messed up one of the vehicles they were trying to bring in. This raised serious concern for me, especially considering the condition my vehicle was later returned in. I still do not know whether the vehicle they were referring to was mine or someone else's. When I finally got my truck back, my tires and rims were scratched and damaged. I was told that's "how it arrived," which is completely false. I have time-stamped photos showing the condition before drop-off and after pick-up, and the damage clearly occurred while the vehicle was in their possession. As if that wasn't enough, the inside of my truck was returned with Sonic wrappers, candy, and trash left behind. If you don't want staff eating in your vehicle or using it for personal errands, do not bring your vehicle here. I will say this: the only kind and professional people I encountered throughout this entire ordeal were Katie and Madeline. There was very little they were empowered to do, but they treated me with respect and compassion, and I genuinely appreciate that. This dealership sold me an unsafe vehicle, failed to take accountability, damaged my property, and showed a complete lack of professionalism and respect. I would never recommend buying or servicing a vehicle here. Due to the seriousness of these safety, disclosure, and service issues, I will be escalating this matter to Consumer Protection and the State Attorney General so this experience is properly reviewed. I am sharing this publicly to ensure other consumers are aware and can make informed decisions before purchasing or servicing a vehicle here. Ps one star is only cause it wouldn't let me put 0 stars

I had a great experience with Isaiah and Cavender. I found the truck on cars.com. From then on, I asked for the lowest price. I was shopping around and looking for the exact same truck elsewhere. Isaiah was straightforward with pricing. He gave me a price to trade in my old truck as well as the new truck and a price to buy the new truck. It was simple. No haggling, no back-and-forth and they were 5K less. I had the exact opposite experience with a different dealership about 2 miles from my house. I had to pick up the truck on a Saturday because I needed a ride from Austin to San Antonio and the truck as well as the paperwork were ready. I felt like the extended warranties were a little highly priced so I passed on them and just purchased the truck in the maintenance package. Great experience, great people and a great dealership. I highly recommend.

This dealership group is a complete joke. Spent 20 minutes trying to talk to a service advisor. Apparently they are too busy. Talked to 5 different people; no one can complete a task or answer a question. Looking forward to my Tesla being delivered in June.

You see the state has found they did violate the law!!!!

So you buy a 120k car from GMC and they don't give you a loaner when your car breaks. Interesting business model

$7,000 Repair Quote During Routine Service - 2021 Tundra…read more I brought my 2021 Toyota Tundra with about 110,000 miles to Shottenkirk Toyota on March 9, 2026 for routine maintenance -- a transmission fluid and rear differential fluid change. The person in the service department handled my visit and was polite and professional during the check-in process. During the inspection I was told the truck had cam cradle oil leaks and was quoted approximately $7,000 for the repair. That estimate came as a shock, especially since the truck runs well and I originally came in for routine service. A repair recommendation of that size deserves careful evaluation, and I will definitely be getting a second opinion before approving work at that cost. The technician gave no other possible causes for the oil leak other than noting that there was oil on the exhaust manifold. They did NOTHING to validate that claim nor did they offer to. I am just supposed to take their word that that is the issue. Now I understand why a guy showed up with documents showing how much my truck would be worth if I wanted to look at replacing it. If Shottenkirk Toyota believes this diagnosis is accurate, I would appreciate the service manager reviewing the estimate or providing additional explanation for the repair recommendation. The dealership facility was clean and the staff was courteous, but I encourage customers facing major repair quotes to ask questions and compare opinions before committing to expensive engine work.

Unfortunately, I was met with zero assistance. I was essentially told that I had no options other than to keep the vehicle for at least six months, and then maybe something could be done. For a major purchase, this kind of response is unacceptable--especially so soon after the sale. What's most frustrating is that this lack of help extended to management. There was no effort to work with me, no alternative solutions offered, and no sense of customer care or accountability. I understand that policies exist, but good customer service means being willing to at least explore options--especially when a customer comes back within days of a purchase. That simply did not happen here. I would not recommend this dealership based on my experience. Buyers should be aware that once you sign, you may be completely on your own--even if problems arise almost immediately.

Please BE WARY…read more Please read this before considering a car here. Me and my wife bought a vehicle from here and to be honest And leave an un bias review that you can trust. We enjoy it. Was not a high quality vehicle and we knew that when purchasing Because i am working to restore it. But during the car buying process he had me sign an arbitration agreement That he explained to me was an agreement for them to pay up to 1500 dollars if anything goes wrong with the vehicle. Turned out it was me signing away my rights to hold them legally responsible in anyway if anything goes wrong with it. As well as when he was explaining to me that the car I was purchasing had bumper to bumper warranty still. I asked him if anything could void that warranty. Which he assured me that wouldn't happen. After ward finding out that in truth CAN happen. if I knew that ,then I wouldn't have purchased the vehicle without asking for a dealer warranty of some kind instead of as is. The friendly caring persona turned out to be the false Shady dealership vibe that leaves a sour taste in my mouth And our salesman's name was Xavier If you look in the reviews an Xavier A left a review to bump up the star rating Wouldn't be surprised if most of the other reviews are fabricated

I would say it took about 15 minutes for the eval & for us to come back to discuss the estimate/offer. I thought it was undervalued as I've been getting emails from Carfax almost monthly. I had even gotten my car washed but I guess they have some formula. Josh mentioned something having to do with tariffs being a factor but I didn't see the correlation since it isn't even a new car that needs to be shipped?? Anyhoo, they must have some formula. There were only maybe 3 other families there so it wasn't crowded. There were lots of cars in the lot, though.
