$7,000 Repair Quote During Routine Service - 2021 Tundra…read more I brought my 2021 Toyota Tundra with about 110,000 miles to Shottenkirk Toyota on March 9, 2026 for routine maintenance -- a transmission fluid and rear differential fluid change. The person in the service department handled my visit and was polite and professional during the check-in process. During the inspection I was told the truck had cam cradle oil leaks and was quoted approximately $7,000 for the repair. That estimate came as a shock, especially since the truck runs well and I originally came in for routine service. A repair recommendation of that size deserves careful evaluation, and I will definitely be getting a second opinion before approving work at that cost. The technician gave no other possible causes for the oil leak other than noting that there was oil on the exhaust manifold. They did NOTHING to validate that claim nor did they offer to. I am just supposed to take their word that that is the issue. Now I understand why a guy showed up with documents showing how much my truck would be worth if I wanted to look at replacing it. If Shottenkirk Toyota believes this diagnosis is accurate, I would appreciate the service manager reviewing the estimate or providing additional explanation for the repair recommendation. The dealership facility was clean and the staff was courteous, but I encourage customers facing major repair quotes to ask questions and compare opinions before committing to expensive engine work.

I had a very disappointing experience with this dealership, specifically the used department…read more Within just three days of purchasing my vehicle, I ran into issues and reached out for help, expecting some level of support or flexibility. Unfortunately, I was met with zero assistance. I was essentially told that I had no options other than to keep the vehicle for at least six months, and then maybe something could be done. For a major purchase, this kind of response is unacceptable--especially so soon after the sale. What's most frustrating is that this lack of help extended to management. There was no effort to work with me, no alternative solutions offered, and no sense of customer care or accountability. I understand that policies exist, but good customer service means being willing to at least explore options--especially when a customer comes back within days of a purchase. That simply did not happen here. I would not recommend this dealership based on my experience. Buyers should be aware that once you sign, you may be completely on your own--even if problems arise almost immediately.

This review is specifically about Aleta Cortez and Miguel Cuetos at Cavender Buick GMC North…read more After purchasing a new vehicle a month ago, the dealership identified a paperwork error and asked me to return in person to redo documents to resolve their issue. I arrived at the scheduled time and explained the situation to Aleta when she questioned me about being there. I expressed my frustration in a direct but non-abusive way. She showed no indication of concern and walked away. Shortly after, Miguel Cuetos approached me and immediately accused me of being verbally abusive to his staff, without first asking what was said or seeking my side of the interaction. When I asked what I had supposedly said that was abusive, he said he didn't know what was said, only that Aleta was offended and had complained. Be aware that expressing frustration, even professionally, may be escalated to accusations without clarification. Choose your words carefully if you interact with or near Aleta and know that the senior level staff will not even attempt to clarify things before making serious accusations.
