Yet another review where I cannot comment on the food. I wanted to try the Cava at Landstown in Virginia Beach as I live only 5 minutes away. I placed an online order for curbside pick-up and followed the instructions as in the email receipt . No one picked up the phone after several attempts, so I went inside. The workers could see that I was parked in the curbside pickup, there were no orders waiting on the counter, although there were several people in line. I called a few more times while waiting in line and gave up after 10 minutes as it would have been at least another 10 minutes before I could talk to one of the workers at the counter (line was terribly slow) . I saw at least one worker who kept walking out to the counter and then heading to the back. Busy or not, they should not offer services they cannot provide. I would call this another case of failed management. There is NO method for canceling the order, so I am assuming I will have to contest the charge when it posts to my credit card. It was an unbelievably frustrating situation. read more

First time and most definitely not the last time here. Cava has been on my list since I saw the one at town center open up. Visited today for their soft opening and was very pleased from start to finish. The employees were very upbeat, welcoming and the overall vibe was fantastic. I always like asking what is the most popular dish, esp when I cannot decide what to order. I went with the harissa chicken bowl and got the husband the lamb bowl which were set menu items. You do have the option to customize them or start from scratch and design your own. Both bowls came with pita bread..yum. I didn't have my teens with me and they are quite picky so I'm glad they can customize their own bowls next time we visit. Their drink station had great options and I always love seeing non-carbonated drinks since I am not a fan of the fizz. We got cucumber mint which was super refreshing and not overly sweet and the blueberry lavender which we loved too. Ok, now for the food. Sadly, they were out of avocado is supposed to come with the harissa chicken bowl. It is supposed to be a spicier dish so I can imagine the avocado being a nice addition. Maybe next time! Regardless, it was delicious, fresh, very filling and the spice was perfect on the chicken. The lamb bowl was just as nice although next time I will ask for extra picked onions or lime (just a personal preference of mine). They do have a rewards program so I will make sure to download the app to start earning points. My very first time in Cava and I must say their Harissa Avocado bowl was so great I had to order one more before exiting. Great customer service, everything about the restaurant was nice and I enjoyed my dine-in experience.. It was a lovely lunch date with my husband (who loves going there for lunch). A few things to consider when choosing your establishment you want to eat at is customer service and quality food. This place offers neither! When your food is late for an online order by 15 minutes and the dressing of choice is out, no accountability from leadership on down. Let me start by saying that the lady Jalyn has great customer service. I could tell that she puts her customers satisfaction first. I was unfortunately indecisive and she was explaining the different types of bowls and asked important questions to see what was the best bowl for me since it was my first time having CAVA. She even took in account that I just got done working out and she offered a bigger calorie bowl but still having the right proteins and carbs in the right places while adding different sauces for taste with less to no calories. after a long walk me friends and i decided to get something relatively healthy and fast so, cava it was! i ordered the salad, chicken, avocado, tomatoes, feta, pickled onions, and a couple other dressings. anyways, i ordered ahead so by the time we got there it should be ready. we got there and they still haven't completed our order which is fine, there were 3 of us who ordered under one ticket also they were pretty busy, so we didn't mind the wait. when they finally were done with my order.... I am not sure what is happening with this location, but what is usually my go-to food destination has me looking elsewhere. My most recent visit was horrible. The bins of fresh greens that are usually filled to the brim were surprisingly empty, as well as them being completely out of pitas. How can a place like this ever run out of pitas? Maybe send someone to a local store and supplement your stock. It isn't rocket science. The service line was a complete mess and needed to be wiped down. It seems like the standards are starting to dwindle here. The staff has little to no personality when greeting or taking orders. Portions are obviously being reduced compared to even 6 months ago. I guess inflation is getting to everyone. It is really sad that it took me so long to find CAVA, a fresher alternative and usually a delicious option for my family, and now I am second-guessing my commitment to them due to diminishing quality, service, and cleanliness. Cava is such a kept secret, but now that I know I'll telling EVERYONE!!! the food is so freakin good I ate here twice in one week. I ordered a grain rice bowl with pita chips on the side. The ingredients are fresh and colorful. I used there app to order which was super convenient. It shows calories and you can set it for your dietary needs as well. Kids menu and family menus are also available. The staff here are so nice and helpful as well. They assisted my husband with his first order, with so much patience even as the line was building. The quality is drastically different from the other location, the rice is bland and tasteless. I've been to Cava many times and love the food, but after the experience I had tonight at the Landstown location, I will never be back. After I watched Grace wipe down counters with a dirty rag, then scoop out a drain wearing plastic gloves, then walk over to the counter wearing the same gloves to pick up a pita I was about to order made me wanna throw up. When I asked her if she was gonna change her gloves she said no, there was no need and they had a shortage of gloves. I told her I didn't want her touching my food then. She turned her back on me then told another employee some people should mind their own damn business. My food I'm about to pay for and consume isn't my business? Also it's ok to curse in front of the customers? I asked to speak to the manager. Isaiah told me that "no, she shouldn't be using the same gloves - that isn't acceptable" yet I wonder if anything was done about it. I won't be back.. I saw and heard enough. There are many places I can choose from to eat out once a week. When I do, I don't need to eat from a place where I question the cleanliness, and especially from a place where a teenager thinks it's acceptable to curse at their customers. Do we still think minimum wage should be $15?!?!? To me, it seems like the trophy mindset! Not everyone deserves one, and not everyone's service or work ethic deserves $15/hr. The food is fine. The professionalism of the staff leads little to be desired. Used to and spoiled by the Towne Center location. I will pass on Landstown location and continue to frequent TC instead. (Much further to drive) They are much more professional, the line is well stocked and they know how to ring up the order. I thought that this was a French restaurant up until a friend recommended it today and described it as Mediterranean chipotle. My experience was extremely satisfying. The lobby was spotless and Chris (I think his name was Chris) was patient with me as he helped me through my order and gave me great suggestions on what to get.
