As a recent customer, I feel like this truly was a bad pizza. Did I put the wrong combo together! I hate when that happens! There are not many pizzas that I won't eat if I'm hungry enough, but because of their 'textures', I was getting a gag reflex, so I stopped eating. Particularly bad was the style of and manner in which they placed the topping ingredients. Our Margherita with Meatballs added? Meatballs flavorless and hard, tomatoes raw, etc., etc.,.....Nope. Also very bad was the crust. In my opinion, the crust makes the pizza. Note to Pizza Nova, please learn to make a crust that has a better texture than as if the customer is eating a hockey puck. It's a one-and-done for me.

I think having a little more staff could help them keep up with the rush and allow for more time to clean tables and maintain the dining area. My favorites are way too many to list, but I especially do love the Tomato Bisque Soup in a Sourdough Bread Bowl. It comes with croutons and shaved cheese for the top. Sometimes I want soup, but don't feel like making all the elements from scratch. The Grilled Brie, Havarti with Apples & Fig Jam Sandwich is perfectly toasted and tart, as well as sweet. We wanted to have dinner at a place we could easily meet up with our friend who is visiting from out of state. My hubby hasn't seen him in years so we can't wait to have some good food and catch up with him... I made RESERVATIONS for a party of 4... AMBIANCE: 10/10 Beautiful interior and a nice location by the lake. There's also outdoor patio seating by the lake as well. There was a birthday party for a 10 year old so we decided to stay in doors... CLAMS & MUSSELS: 10/10 Definitely worth $30. The mussels and clams were so fresh and tender. The mussels were my favorite because it was pretty big and super moist. But, be careful of some of the shells though. I got a few crunchy bites from the shells inside some clams and mussels but, not too much that it could stop me from devouring it... CALAMARI: 9/10 the batter was not super crunchy but, it stuck on well to the calamari. It was crunchy enough for me though. The important part for me is the calamari itself. It was actually FRESH! It was not chewy or rubbery at all... MEATBALL APPETIZER: 8/10 I'm not really into meatballs meaning I prefer seafood and veggies but, it was tender and not overly salty like most meatballs. My party enjoyed it... LOBSTER LINGUINE: 8.5/10 The pasta sauce had a really nice flavor. Not sure if the pasta was house made. The lobster was huge! Half of a whole lobster and they impressively took out the claw meat. I had to knock out some points for OVER COOKING the lobster though. It was very tough and dry... PRIME RIBEYE: 10/10 STAR OF THE SHOW! Worth $83. Bravo and compliments to the CHEF. This steak had some serious flavor and was cooked perfectly. So nice and JUICY! I usually need Chimichurri, Worcestershire or ketchup with Tabasco to eat with all my steaks but, this was the FIRST steak I could actually eat all by itself... CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT CAKE: 9/10 It came out instantly. Tasted great. If you LOVE chocolate and hazelnut. This is a rich treat you will enjoy! SERVICE: 8/10 B+ Our server was good but, my party got the vibe that he was kind of rushing us a bit. I mean, the appetizers came out fast within 10 minutes. However, the MAIN courses took 30-40 minutes to come out! And when it came out there was barely room for it at our table because our appetizers and plates were not picked up fast enough... The LADY and GUYS that brought out our food was GREAT! She even took a picture for us. The manager was great too he stopped by to make sure we were doing ok... Luckily, we ordered 3 appetizers while waiting 40 minutes for the main course to come out otherwise we would have been super HANGRY!!! 4 star experience today for AMALFI CUCINA ITALIANA

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of ordering a salad. I got the Greek Tavern Salad, which doesn't come with meat, so you have to pay extra to add chicken. The chicken was very dry and flavorless and in a big chunk on top of the salad. The tomatoes and green peppers were also in really big pieces, so I really wish I'd been given a better knife to cut everything up. I also wish the salad had a better Mediterranean-style dressing and more feta. I ended up leaving most of it behind. The other thing that really bothered me was that they started deep cleaning the restaurant around 9pm, even though they're open until 10pm. They were fully mopping and stacking chairs around us, which made us feel like we were being rushed out. I actually asked when they closed, and they said 10pm--it was barely 9pm at that point! Who wants to smell cleaning chemicals and have furniture being stacked around them while they're still eating? The decor is cute and the restaurant has a lot of character, but unfortunately the food and the way the evening ended probably means I won't be back.
