    AZZI'S GAME DAY BOWL
    Damian W.

I have to big up all my coworkers since they were talking about Cava and amazing it is, so I couldn't wait for North Brunswick location to open. I had the opportunity to visit them on their opening Community Day in June and it was packed. Thats always a great sign and we welcomed them to our neighborhood. Their classic pita chips are definitely worth trying and I like how they have a variety of drinks and you can customize to your taste. I love the fact that they have build your own options and specialty meals, the ingredients are freshly made and they haven't disappointed me. You can order online for in-store pickup or they even have drive thru option too. It's nice and clean inside and you should definitely sign up for their reward system because they always have good promotions to gain points towards your next free meal!

This place has me in a chokehold. The staff is very sweet here. I enjoy making my own bowl, it's so tasty and I love all of the toppings options they have. There is a clean eat-in area, so often I will eat my meal there. If you're able to, definitely get the cucumber mint juice, it is so refreshing and light. Don't forget to get their app and collect rewards points!

    Falafel Bowl

Was so happy that Cava finally opened that I needed to try it the week afterwards. Because of a pre-planned vacation, I couldn't make it on their actual grand opening, but made it in due time. It's the typical Cava experience. Great food, filling bowls, reasonable prices. I haven't had Cava in nearly 3 years so I had to get my falafel bowl fix. To be fair, I think the falafels aren't the best of the Chipotle-style Mediterranean places, but it does the job because you just get so much more filling. Hard to ask for more, tbh.

    small portions, unhygienic lacking.

The strip mall itself isn't anything special, but the surrounding area is beautiful , and once you're inside, the restaurant feels warm and inviting. The food is fantastic, and the variety on the menu is impressive. The chef clearly knows what they're doing because every single dish we tried was genuinely delicious. It's the kind of spot where you can't go wrong: date night, dinner with friends, or anything in between. We brought our own bottle and had a great time. Our waiter was super knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. The staff even joked around with me when I forgot my to‑go bag, and yes, I absolutely took it home because the food is that good. I also appreciate that they don't act like offering takeout is beneath them; even the takeout bag was nice. I honestly wish my meals were this good every night. I hope everyone who works here is paid well and enjoys what they do, because they're running the place exactly how a restaurant should be run. It feels like a true community staple somewhere that transports you a bit and makes the whole experience feel special. Lovely all around.

Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall is one of those places you almost don't want to tell people…read moreabout--because then you'll have a harder time getting a table. Luca's Ristorante is a hidden gem that proves you should never judge a restaurant by its parking lot. Not long after we were seated, we were greeted by Luca -- a Luca and not the Luca. Still he was warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about his restaurant, taking the time to walk us through the menu and checking in throughout the meal without ever hovering. Luca's has a partial liquor license, offering a modest wine selection but is otherwise being BYOB. As we were told with a smile, they're much more interested in what's ON your plate than what's IN your glass. We started with two excellent appetizers. The arancini, already a family favorite, were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and disappeared from the table faster than anyone was willing to admit. The Polpette, Luca's signature meatballs with pine nuts and raisins, certainly earned the praise they've received from NJ.com as some of the best in the state. Even if raisins in meatballs sound unusual, trust the process. The restaurant proudly calls itself "A Taste of Ischia," the beautiful volcanic island in the Bay of Naples, and the seafood absolutely lives up to that promise. My squid ink pasta with octopus (the Polypus) was outstanding, with perfectly tender octopus and beautifully balanced flavors. The scallops were buttery, sweet, and cooked to perfection, while the Ischia -- loaded with mussels, clams, and calamari -- was every seafood lover's dream. The rest of the menu proved just as impressive. The Pappardelle, featuring burrata and a rich Bolognese sauce, was a huge hit, while the Romolo, a comforting combination of chicken, pasta, bacon, and sauce, was another winner that had no leftovers to speak of. If you somehow still have room after dinner, Luca's offers a nice assortment of gelato. But do yourself one favor: don't leave without ordering a cappuccino. Rich, foamy, and expertly made, it's the perfect finale to a memorable meal. If you find yourself in Somerset, just a few turns off Routes 287 or 1, make the stop. You'll be greeted by a wonderful staff, treated to outstanding food, and very likely leave wondering how a restaurant this good has been hiding in a strip mall all along.

It's cozy and the staff there are always so nice and welcoming. I noticed outside there were some chairs and tables which I'm sure is nice to eat out when it's warm enough. There's plenty of parking since it's in a little plaza near Job Lot so this location is very easy to find. We were a party of 5 adults and 1 baby so we needed a fairly big table since we were keeping the baby in the car seat. They were very accommodating and gave us a large booth area. I was surprised we were seated immediately considering this was a Sunday afternoon and I figured it would be super busy but it wasn't bad at all. All of our food came out fresh and fast which is always appreciated! For appetizer we got the caprese garlic bread which was perfect to share with 5 people. It was really flavorful and just enough to hold us over for the entree. I got the Chicken Mona Lisa for my entree and it was delicious! I especially liked the fried eggplant with the mozzarella that combo with the chicken and mashed potatoes was so good. The meal also came with a small side salad (not pictured) which you had a choice of a garden salad or Caesar salad. For dessert we were extremely full so we got a cookie skillet to share with our choice of vanilla ice cream. This was the right decision because it was just gooey and chocolately and it melts in your mouth- definitely the perfect bite to end this meal. 100% will be back. I would love to come back in the spring when it's a little warmer out and maybe sit outside. The inside was super cute and cozy for Christmas so I'm interested in seeing if they decorate for other seasons and maybe if they have any seasonal menu items.

The food itself was really good, but the music and atmosphere may have been even better. The vibe felt fun and energetic, and I can only imagine this place really comes alive at night. Looking forward to coming back and experiencing that. Only deducted a star because it wasn't really packed, but took a while to get our food. It could have just been today. Definitely recommend! .

Big shout out to Yuri. Even though it was your first day, you were great. Keeping doing you and i hope to come back and see you. Now the food. The menu is small but has a lot i wanted to try. This time we got the yellowtail fritters, they were delicious. I would recommend that to anyone. We got the shrimp ceviche, which my partner loved. I didnt but that's because it has a coconut base and i don't love that flavor. The garlic rice was delicious and nicely fried that added a lot of texture if that makes sense. Lately, the vedura enchiladas. Omg what that decision. It was spicy and sweet due to corn and very savory. I was skeptical of the place due to it being Indian Mexican fusion but i am quite surprised and excited to have something like this here. Prices seem highly initially but once you taste the food, you will understand. It's quality.
