My new favorite fast service Mediterranean joint! I had quite a few recommendations to try out CAVA but hadn't made it nearby to try it out. Ended up in Cary on a Friday afternoon and suggested CAVA to my husband. He isn't the biggest fan of Mediterranean so he hem hawed a bit before giving in. He was blown away by his food here. He actually said "wow - this is the best Mediterranean food I have ever had". He got spicy chicken in his bowl and I got falafel among our mixture of other ingredients. Everything was super tasty. Unlike other Mediterranean restaurants, we didn't leave with that dehydrated feeling. Woot! Each bowl came with a small pita and while mine was fine, my husband's was charred on the bottom. Normally I would take off a star for this, but decided to go for five with the ease of ordering and cleanliness/organization of the store. We'll be back! read more

My friends and I wanted to meet for lunch in a central location and one of them suggested Cava. I hadn't been before so I asked what kind of food and my friend explained it as a Mediterranean Chipotle and boy was she correct! DELICIOUS AND FRESH AND HEALTHY! I ordered a greens and grains bowl with grilled chicken and brown rice. I love all of the fresh options for toppings and sauce. I ordered mine with tzatziki sauce and "oh my! soooo good!" The options for toppings are great and extremely fresh and flavorful. Although it can get busy during lunch time, they have a great system and everything moves smoothly. Parking is limited because of the Crossroads area being pretty busy, but there's still plenty nearby. It's a bit overwhelming as a first-timer, but if you go at a calmer time outside of lunch rush I'm sure it will be fine. Luckily my friends had already been and walked me through the options so I was fine, but definitely if you get overwhelmed and are indecisive I would highly suggest going during a down moment outside of lunch or dinner rush to give yourself time to look through the options. I guess the upside is that the food is pretty tasty. The downside is that ordering for delivery is a colossal mistake. Our bowls (not inexpensive) arrived about half full. (Mighty convenient that they only manage to provide half the food when a customer isn't standing right there watching.) Dressing on the side? Nope, not included. The kid's meal was the perfect portion size and price! I was impressed by all the options; it was so hard to choose one meal. I tried the Harissa sauce, but I wasn't a huge fan even though I love spicy tomatoes. Next time I will try some hummus for my pita. The falafel was pretty delicious, as were the rice, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Everything was very fresh. The lemon herb tahini was delicious too! CAVA is a great addition to Crossroads. It's an order-at-the-counter restaurant, and you choose your base, sauces, protein and toppings. The food is healthy, and the servers were very friendly and helpful. There was a line when we walked in, but it moved quickly, and we had our food in about five minutes. I chose a bowl with saffron rice, roasted vegetables (fantastic!), spicy lamb meatballs and various vegetable toppings. I could hardly finish it all! The decor is clean and industrial. Unfortunately, it's not a good place to go with a group, because only three of the tables seated four people. The other tables just seated two each, and tables couldn't be moved to accommodate larger groups. We saw a group of five uncomfortably squeezed into a table for four, and we saw a family of three who couldn't sit at the same table. On the plus side, they have outdoor seating. The utensils and dishes were reusable, instead of throw-away plastic. Even my friend's straw was made from paper. Ok first of all, the food is absolute gas. I mean slayed the house down it was so good. SECOND OF ALL, this very nice gentleman working there noticed we were in trouble because it was raining very very hard. He proceeds to come outside with a big kitchen tarp and give it to us for shelter whilst our designated driver sprints to her car. This location happens to be our local Cava. More times than not, there tends to be very low staffing at the location. However, the few on staff always go above and beyond. Specifically, Donita! She consistently leaves us wanting to come back. Always works with such efficiency, and truly goes out of her way to assure she is engaging with each and every customer. I've been going to cava for years and every single time I come to this location, no matter the time or how many guests they have, the experience is always the same, your gonna have to wait for any rice, protein, or pita chips. Went there at 3:30, walked in, 0 customers, my sister and I ordered, no brown rice... but we can wait? Meanwhile they have an entire mobile order line with everything they're "out of" fully stocked?!?! And keep in mind there's atleast 5 employees standing around. We are then waiting for chicken cause they're out (shocker)... Another customer comes in after us and orders and then skips past us and gets chicken while we're still waiting? Nobody says anything to us, just standing around as we're waiting with our half-made bowls getting cold. Complete joke of an establishment. What a great place! This is one of those build your own bowl places but what sets it apart is the awesome toppings! You can get a scoop of hummus or baba ghanouj at no extra charge! By the time they are done making the bowl, it's overflowing with food and it's enough for two people to eat comfortably. The food always tastes fresh and service is very fast even if there's a line. The price is very low especially considering the amount of food you get. Definitely check this place out! read more

Went here yesterday for a late lunch with no wait and options to sit inside or outside. We sat inside since it was so windy but the outside looked cute on a warmer, less windy day. We ordered the Chicken and Rightrice and the Harissa Avocado bowl. I love that they have the Rightrice option, which tastes almost identical to rice yet is made from 90% veggies. The chicken and Rightrice was a great pic if you're looking for something lower in calories without giving up flavor. This was more like a greek bowl. The Harissa Avocado bowl is already a win because of the avocados, was much more tex-mex, very filling, and had a bit of spice to it. I also like that they offer the bowls that are already put together because there are so many ingredients and hard to choose. They also offer a build your own creation option. The bread that comes with the bowls is a nice treat. The price seems fair considering the fresh ingredients and quality of the food. read more

Was wanting to trying this place ever since it opened. Was very glad that I read a few of the reviews before ordering. Overall the staff and appears of the place was great! Everyone was welcoming and explained the process of how to order. I chose to do a half grain (basmati rice) and greens along with chicken. You can then pick 3 sides (many hummus choices). Then you have unlimited toppings along with sauces. The garlic sauce is a light garlic yogurt sauce which is not too over powering (my fav). This place gets a solid 4, it's like a upgraded chipotle. Next time I personally (loved the rice) would go full salad since the portions were very large. The rice just makes it too heavy in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I could of finished it but then I would of been in a food coma. Lighter option just opt out the rice choices and the topping will more than fill you up! Will return soon read more

I like the ease of the build your own bowl concept at CAVA. I decided to try the spicy lamb meatballs and piled on all the toppings that piqued my interest. The flavor of the spicy lamb meatballs was pretty good - not too spicy, but a little dry. The variety of toppings and dressings were fairly good as well - there is definitely something for everyone here. First visit was very sub par... mostly because I didn't know what to get. Second visit though and there's been many after that. Not many fast food places get 5 stars but this is it. My go to is half saffron rice with half Brussels sprout mix. Then tzatziki, harissa and roasted red pepper hummus. For meats/veggies, I recommend the chicken/honey chicken and roasted veggies. (I wasn't a huge fan of the falafel or the meatballs). Then unlimited toppings which I typically get everything!! And extra sauce at the end. (With pita bread of course) Pretty much a Mediterranean Chipotle like most people have said. If you're comparing cost, it's a little pricier around $10 but pound by pound, you get more food with Cava. I can never finish it but thankfully always makes great leftovers. read more

I'd like to start by saying I LOVE the concept of CAVA. "Chipotle-style" Mediterranean prepared fresh...who could want more? I placed a take out order using their mobile app (which is awesome by the way) because I was in a rush but once I got there to pick up the food, I wish I'd ordered and ate in. The inside was impeccably clean, small but not crowded and well designed. The ingredients along the "assembly line" were extremely fresh and this seemed to be l one of those places where you know the food will be better eaten then and there. So here's the deal with choices: Bowl (grains, salad or mix) or Wrap style with choice of: 1 Protein (falafel, braised lamb, spicy lamb meatballs, chicken or beef meatballs) 3 spreads (crazy feta, roasted red pepper hummus, baba ghanouj, harissa tzasziki or regular hummus Unlimited toppings/fillings: diced cukes, tomatoes, romaine, olives, feta, pickled onions, etc etc 1 dressing: lemon dill tahini (to die for!!!), vinaigrette, etc. I tried a bowl with spicy lamb meatballs, a large pita wrap with falafel and a mini (which was huge) pita wrap with braised lamb. Also a side of tomato harissa soup. They were all delicious however I will say once it's all been "mashed" together they taste relatively the same. My advice would be to order one item and add extra proteins if you want a variety. The falafel looked amazing in the pics online but I was sad that they weren't crisp - rather mushy but still tasty. The lamb meatballs were out of this world. I do think I was a bit overzealous in packing all the toppings in and perhaps would have enjoyed something more simple so I could truly taste the protein. The soup was a phenomenal, spicy treat (while a bit overpriced at $5 for the portion you receive). I will definitely be back, order more simply and dine in! Moving here from DC, Cava has always been a part of my life. I was ecstatic to see we have a brand new one here in Mount Pleasant. This is a strong location, staff is friendly and helpful, food was fresh. I go back and forth between here and Kairos for my healthy-ish Mediterranean meals, and I don't think I've ever had a bad meal at either. Only reason this isn't 5 is because on opening day, we walked in and we're stopped by the manager asking if we had a flier. We didn't, we just walked in. He turned us away without a thought, "fliers only". That was a very offputting experience, i understand "partial openings", but there were no signs up, nothing we could have known. A free meal flier for the future would've been a really easy and nice touch, but we just got a cold shoulder. luckily for him the food is great so it didn't stop us from returning :) read more

I tried cava 2 times before this and I was always happy with the experience but today was a disaster. The service and staff were really bad. I asked one staff member if the dine-in was open and he didn't know and he didn't even know when they close the place. The lady who took our orders was trying to do everything very fast and messing up the whole orders and we had to ask her few times to fix our orders. They did not had few things available and nobody bothers to refill it even after we asked and we went there at 9 and the place closes at 10. Oooh maaan!! This place is soo legit! Hands down my new fave. All healthy options and awesome staff. Within the passed week I've eaten Cava 3 times. Each time was amazing! I order the greens and grains bowl, used spinach as my base with lentil beans, 3 scoops of hummus, chicken for my protein, topped with chopped tomato and onion, cauliflower quinoa, and last but not least sriracha greek yogurt, and a side of pita crisps. Each bite was awesome, literally just had me wanting more. If you think Chipotle's burrito bowl was good, this is sooo much better yall! If you think im blowing your head up with smoke try it for yourself. The first time i went, it was close to closing. The staff was still generous enough to fulfill my order without any attitude about it soo close to closing. They showed professionalism. The second time i went, some staff had a line of customers waiting because two staff members were too busy answering text messages. I got a little agitated, but hey we were all young once.
