A new favorite! Great concept (because it's just a Mediterranean Chipotle, and Chipotle has a great concept). Super fresh, well executed, lots of options. The falafel is crisp and filled with whole chickpeas. Lots of fresh veggie toppings, including a cabbage salad and cucumber/tomato salad. Spicy harissa and cooling tzatziki sauce were perfect. I love when a place offers a vegetarian option that is just as good as the meat entrees. I'll get around to trying to lamb and pork . . . if Cava Grill uses humanely raised meat, they should bring that to the forefront. If not-- then much like Chipotle, they should! read more

a little pricey, but delicious. I loved the small plates because it gives you the opportunity to try a lot of things. the dip sampler was super fun to try. drinks were good but a little overpriced, in my opinion. I paid $10 for a tiny cocktail that was 50% ice. read more

Deleted my earlier complaint that they no longer serve lamb. A manager contacted me to say they did indeed still serve it although it might have been missing from the serving line at the times I went (and I didn't actually inquire to see why they didn't have it...just assumed it was no longer on the menu. My bad.) That's the kind of conscientious management and concern for customers that I really appreciate. Soooo, I'm upping the stars back up to five...and I'll be back for the lamb. Not very impressed by place. Serving Size small, got a bowl, mostly salad instead of the meat desired. Topping was good but got just a spoonful, and service for a fast-ish place was slow. With all the great places in Bethesda.....not likely coming back. read more

like everyone else said, it's pretty much a chipotle/qdoba type of ordering place, but a custom made lamb gyro is still pretty awesome. the price is a bit steeper for what you get, but you're in the downtown bethesda so i guess that's that. it's also right next to georgetown cupcakes which makes for a nice lunch + dessert combo read more

Similar concept as Chipotle but with Mediteranean and Middle Eastern food and toppings. I would give it 5 stars, but the portions are smaller and more expensive then Chipotle. The food is good, with choices of main protein and nice toppings. The service was quick and responsive (no onions, no cucumber, etc). The only reason why I gave this self-serve restaurant only three starts is because of their lousy temperature control. They keep their door open even if it is very cold outside (and inside) because they seem to have a problem with their smoke or exhaust. They should fix it. read more

CMG just opened in the Village At Topanga, and we decided to give it a try..to our surprise they were giving away FREE lunch and dinner to celebrate the the grand opening! So we waited about 25 minutes in the line..it is pretty good, nice to choose your own ingredients, which is why we liked it. I had the salad w lot of stuff, hummus, chicken, lots of veggies, feta, olives..hubby got a pita similar..we both liked it and will come back. Place is very loud inside be warned, we ate outside which was nice...lots of interesting teas, good choices and lots of help to make your food. They did ask for a donation to help school children grow gardens since food was free, so we gladly did that. Nice little place, very cool that they have a free food day and donate all the tips to charity..glad they opened in The Village which is also really lovely with beautiful landscape and a great outdoor experience! read more

I enjoyed my meal very much. It is set up like most fast food grills. You go down a line of varied foods, and you decide which combination of items you would like placed into your meal. I got the steak, it was very dry, and need a lot of sauce. Ive also had the lam, which was pretty dry as well. Have eaten here at least a dozen times and never disappointed. How great to be able to eat a tasty/healthy meal made with fresh ingredients that doesn't leave you feeling like "why did I just eat all of that". The line moves quickly and the servers are helpful. Maybe i'm obsessed, but I really love this place. I know it's another copy cat concept of the assembly line system everyone knows from Chipotle, but the ingredients are so tasty, and the inside is trendy enough to make me hooked. Much better experience than Roti, the closest competitor I can think of. I especially love their harissa spread, great spicy tomato chili taste. I buy it from whole foods all the time, even if it is almost $6 for a tub! Only drawback is I have to go to Bethesda to visit, when I live in Silver Spring. read more

This place never ceases to amaze me. The food is always fresh and ridiculously delicious. I'm writing on here tonight just to compliment one of the managers. I came in on a day where my parking meter was about to run out and I knew I had about five minutes left. Their machine was down and taking a very long time to reboot and I was getting very nervous. The manager noticed and let me go and have the meal for free. I am amazed that he even picked up on the fact that I was worried about time. It really made my day! Everything I've had here has been delicious. I've tried their salad and pitas, lamb and falafel- I could eat here every day of the week. Fast and reasonably priced - can't beat it. Meatballs and lamb sliders were good, they only give a few per portion so not a lot of meat. Rice not so great - a yellow rice that we'd never seen before in Mediterranean food. The different dips were nice, pretty small scoops of each. We tried regular hummus, roasted red pepper hummus, baba ghanoush and tzatziki. The toppings good as well. Absolutely delicious. If you want fresh, lots of healthy choices, and quick, courteous service, this is your restaurant. This restaurant is the beginning of a trend towards local farm, healthy food. Firstly, the food is great. Second, the workers suck. I went there yesterday and upon getting to the register the employees started laughing and whispering in spanish while looking at me and my sister to see our facial expressions as if they were whispering about us. I asked the employee if everything was okay with her and she immediatly dropped her dumb attitude. I went back today with my friend because she wanted it so bad. I was hesitant because of my experience the previous day but went anyways to be a good friend. This time upon asking what dressing I wanted on my rice bowl the same employee hesitated to put it on, asked her manager who was working the register something as if the dressing was rancid and was questioning if she should put it on. She then proceeded to laugh while putting the dressing all over my salad. I was pissed off at this point because this was my second time I've had these employees whispering in spanish and laughing in my face. I don't speak in spanish and I have no idea if they tampered with my food or what. I asked them what they were laughing about and the manager told me "Oh, i asked her what meat you got." So I straight up said "Your lying to me right now. What the hell is wrong with my bowl, i'm not paying for that." He immediately got nervous and proceeded to arrogantly say "Do you speak in spanish?" after I just stood there he said "Okay then you don't know what i said." I then just payed and got the hell out of there because the situation was making my friend uncomfortable. I will never be returning to that chain restaurant. The employees are completely disrespectful to customers and laughed in my face. read more
