I have to say first that the food tastes great!! Now the reason for the one star comes due to customer service. For anyone that's new to this establishment will be turned off due to the customer service. Really horrible service even though you informed the servers that it's your first time there and not sure how to go about and choose what to eat. They didn't care and they pretty much rush you out of the place. Maybe retraining in customer service my need to take place. Otherwise you will lose new customers and most importantly profit. read more

I would like to give a big shout out to cava fox chase! Yesterday I went to this location for dinner with my wife and walking throughout the line I noticed that they were a little bit busy and the line was somewhat longer than usual but I could understand that they using the 6ft distance from customers as the employees and manager were enforcing. I would like to give a thumbs up to "Edwin" as named on his name tag; his energy and customer service was fantastic. When we were about to sit to eat he quickly offer to clean the table which surprise me because not many restaurant or employee cares whether the table is clean or not but this was not the case, way to go. This is one of my go to places to eat when I am in the area. Perfect place to get a salad that doesn't actually taste like a salad. It's advisable to go at odd times of the day because this is a very popular destination. They handle the rush well but lines can be extremely long. read more

I have lived in Foxchase for 6 months and I don't know how I am just trying Cava now but wow have I been missing out. I love all the choices, it was once described to me as "like Subway but way better and with falafel" - they weren't wrong! This is my new go-to spot in downtown Silver Spring. Chipotle-like concept where you order a pita, salad, or rice bowl, add your meat and then choose your toppings. (Hint: you can choose up to 3 spreads with the bowl, I highly recommend the crazy feta). They have fresh made juice, lemonade, tea and all are deliciously refreshing. read more

Went to this location for lunch today and it will be my last visit. Was with 2 others, we got our food and went to an outdoor table to eat. There was no signage on the table saying we couldn't and about half way through our meal some child who worked there was sent out by a manager to tell us we had to leave. Yeah cuz 3 people eating alone in the fresh air is really deadly. Fools. Here we are trying to support a small business and we end up getting harassed?? Now officially done with Cava. The food is quite delicious. I was shocked after my first time trying it. I did not have high expectations being that my husband is from the Mediterranean and I know what the food should taste like. They have done excellent at the harrisa, lamb, and pita bread-so impressed. However, the staff at this location make you feel like you are inconveniencing them by being there. Not friendly, at all. Never a smile on the face, never high energy. Something tells me their management is not keeping a good work environment and the kids that work there are reflecting that on their faces. read more

We go to Cava at least once a week. Kevin is usually the first guy on the line, and he is awesome. Always happy to answer questions about the menu, or give great suggestions. That's just the beginning! Cava's food is always excellent, and although it can take a few minutes to get through the line, the servings are always very reasonable and healthy for the price. I was a little hesitant at first but turned out to be very surprised with how good this food tasted! I had a bowl with spinach, brown rice, grilled beef meatballs, feta, tazitki, Greek vinaigrette, and a cucumber/tomato topping. Everything was so refreshing along with their house made drinks. Let me start by saying that I love Cava! I go to their restaurants all over the DMV since it's typically an available healthy option. However this is the dirtiest, sloppiest location I've ever seen. I went there twice within a two-week period both times I noticed a lot of things that are not in line with their standards. The food supply in the line is low and they need to refill with fresh ingredients. The area with beverages and utensils is always low and needs to be restocked. It's also filthy, with crumbs, grease and even hair. The metal containers that they put the clean utensils in were dirty inside, which was easy to see because there were only a few utensils left. I tried the iced tea and I spit it back out into my cup because it tasted rotten. The tables outside were dirty. Also I got a few chunks of pita crisps, which I did not order, in my salad. That means the ingredients are cross contaminating, if someone has celiac's disease for example, they could have a serious reaction. In general, it just made me think what else may have been lurking in my food that wasn't supposed to be there? I spoke to the general manager, she was very nice and receptive to the feedback. I hope they really take this into consideration and tighten up their hygiene. read more

I love CAVA. I'm not sure what else I can say. I'm just so glad there is a new one next to my house. If you like falafel, be sure to try a side order or theirs. My son didn't like this type of food (he always preferred Chipotle) until I ordered him a grain bowl with the roasted chicken- he loved it and insists that we go at least once a week. I love Cava! The lines can be long, but so worth it. I always get the super greens with the spicy lamb meatballs, so good! They have a good selection of sauces, toppings and dressings. I was sad when they got rid of the red spicy harissa dressing, but the green one is a good second choice. As long as you get the harissa dip, it'll still be nice and spicy! The kids meal is also great for the price. A good amount of food and if you need to get your kid something quick and easy, it's way better for them than McDonald's. read more

I'd like to give this place a 5 but nope, sorry. Not until they learn how to cook falafel. It's not supposed to be damp and gooey inside! We went back to the counter and complained. They said it was supposed to be that way: "we cook them for 3 min!" Well, 3 mins aren't enough if they are raw inside. They replaced my falafel with more undercooked falafel and a free side of attitude. Love the concept, love the options, but please learn how to cook falafel before you serve it. Recently, as in two weeks ago, bae and I started our vegan journey to better health. We had been struggling at the grocery stores all week and wanted something quick and easy for lunch after our stroll around Aldi's for some organic budget friendly groceries. I had been considering CAVA for a meal for a while but never ventured in until today. Here is what we ordered: Me: Pita with harissa and roasted red pepper hummus, half falafel and roasted veggies (grilled Kalamata olives, mushrooms, peppers onions), diced tomato and cucumbers with pita crisps for crunch and lemon herb tahini and green harissa sauce Since we are not doing animal fat because we don't like the way it's sourced and we are trying our best to be healthier, I was worried about what bae was gonna order so I went before him so I can manage his intake. He pretty much ordered what I ordered to be on the safe side except he had to just add brown rice to his for substance and volume he says Anyway, these former meat eaters loved it it was filling and delicious. This location was bright and clean. Staff did not seem to be knowledgeable or helpful about the foods but over-all it was a nice quick lunch for us. After all of this healthy eating I discovered I just don't like cucumber as much as I thought‍ who knew. Anyway, meat eaters and all I encourage you to try it. I've eaten at several Cava Grill locations throughout the DMV area because I like the selection and healthy options, and fresh food. However, this location at Foxchase is poorly run and badly managed. It's usually understaffed and overcrowded at peak times. I've also ordered online and the food wasn't ready or the staff ignored me for another customer behind me. I hope management cleans house and finds more competent employees. The locations at Tysons Corner and Westfield Montgomery can get downright chaotic, but the staff at those locations seem to know how to handle crowds a lot better than this one. read more

Every cava grill location is awesome. The only thing I don't particularly like is the bowl, I always order the pita. The soups are always tasty, and they recently added cane sugar sodas to the fountain in addition to the amazing juices and tea selection. One of the best places to eat in the area, all the convenience of a chipotle but with exciting flavors that are constantly changing. I love this place, have been going since it opened and I live in walking distance so I'm there at least once a week. The food is great all of it I've tried all the meats all the dips and sauces and while I have my favorite I can't say I've ever had something and said it was nasty. I love that they change their veggies, soups, and house made drinks based on the seasons and I love that there are vegetarian and even vegan options. Staff is always friendly, never skimpy on portions, and move pretty quickly. All in all a really good place to eat really good food at a really good price. read more

Went here for the first time on Sunday and it was great! It was confusing at first because there wasn't any signage/pricing up front. I guess because it has a set up like Chipotle, I was hoping it would have something displayed on the walls. Went with a coworker because she raves about this place and location. I like the ambience and the servers there were very friendly. What I didn't like was the price. I got the mini pita and chose my dip, my protein, toppings and dressing. When I looked at my receipt later after I left there was an extra charge for the protein. Well, I didn't see that listed anywhere. I am not a big fan of paces like this where you build your meal because of the lack of details for pricing. Hubby and I are here almost every weekend when we need to grab something quick if we're out running errands. The food and flavors are consistent and service is always quick. The drink offerings are usually pretty tasty as well and I do enjoy their fried pita chips. It's definitely a nice alternative to Chipotle. read more
