Cava has some of the best food and flavors that you can get from a major chain restaurant. I've been here probably over a dozen times since moving to the area and this location always hits the spot! The inside is well kept and looks great. But the service about the worst I've had in the DMV area. Every person that you talk to there while ordering treats you as the biggest inconvenience. This place would be 5 stars if not for the rude service.

Mash up food, what you want. Mmmm (yeah right!)

A great place to mash up food and eat it too. Easier to digest! The staff really like their job, I'm kidding, how could you like your job at minimum wage? What's minimum wage nowadays $12? Well that's not enough to serve food with a smile and be kind. Go somewhere else. Oh yeah, you like mash up food, (whispers) then go here.

Packed with flavor and very tasty. The only downside is that it is light and doesn't really fill you up.

First time dining with CAVA during COVID and I felt pretty good about the experience overall. My son and I visited on a Wednesday around 1:30 and while the two shaded tables outside were taken, no one was sitting inside. One other person came in towards the end and sat on the opposite side of the dining room. Every other table is marked off, all staff were masked appropriately, and anyone entering for pickup was also masked. I usually order the same thing-a super greens bowl with roasted red pepper hummus, tzatziki, and eggplant and red pepper. I always get the honey harissa chicken , now that it's an option. Toppings: tomatoes and onions, diced cucumbers, Fresno peppers, kalamata olives. I was surprised to not see the sriracha yogurt dressing offered so I chose the harissa vinaigrette and the dill cucumber yogurt. Everything was, as usual, fresh and delicious. I really liked the new vinaigrette which was quite spicy! My son got a kids meal with rice, chicken pita , pita chips and hummus. Oh and of course his favorite part-milk. He ate all the chicken, some rice, and a couple chips so it was a win in my book! I love that , across the board, CAVA is a consistent brand where I always know I will get a high quality fast -casual meal.

I visited on a Sunday evening with some friends who hosted me in Alexandria when my flight out of DCA was postponed. I would recommend bringing a couple of friends here to dine, ordering a lot of items and sharing. We started with a couple of spreads, and the Baba Ghannush was my favorite. I also had a Greek salad, and we had some chicken souvlaki. The entrees are shareable and a large portion, and my friend also got an order of soup for the next day, since we knew we'd be snowed in. The service was wonderful, and the inside of the restaurant itself is gorgeous. One word of advice- do NOT sit near the door on a cold day because that wind kept coming into the building. The happy hour and lunch deals are excellent, so if you're nearby, it is worth stopping in.

The rice, salad and meat were so good. There was so much food we took several boxes home and it was just as delicious the next day. For about $100 we had a fantastic meal. We will definitely return. We were instead on the pier in retrofitted shipping containers enjoying Spanish shareable plates with a great view. This place was crowded that's for sure. Primarily because there's no closer place to the water than this. (We were lucky-- the day after was rainy!) The food was great--we went for shareable small tapas and we still overordered. Service was great. We had a small wait upon check in but they made up for it by putting us in a nice location. Overall this was a great choice for a weekend lunch with friends.

The first two times, the food wasn't great but the location was nice and the service was decent so we came back a third time for the ambiance. We had to send back two small plates--the kabob and the mussels. The kabob tasted like the meat had gone bad and the mussels as if they were sitting in their own excrements for hours. However, we still continued ordering more plates and drinks because we were enjoying being by the water and my sister and I were taking our dad out for a nice day. The manager approached our table with a passive aggressive vibe. She asked why we sent back the food and we explained. She then told us that the chef tried the dishes we sent back. They tasted just fine to him. She let that sit there. I just blinked at her in silent disbelief. The awkward silence made my sister so uncomfortable, she began apologizing for sending it back. I interjected, and reiterated what was unpleasant about the two dishes. This woman had the gall to continue passive aggressively stating the chef tried the dishes, insinuating we were lying or...I don't know what. Keep in mind, we had ordered like five other small dishes, my sister, my dad and myself ordered two alcoholic beverages each. We weren't cheapskates trying to lower our tab by sending back 2 measly plates. I had half a mind to say; "I didn't realize the patron of this restaurant is the chef. Is HE paying for our meal and drinks--or WE paying for his and your salary?" Of course, I didn't say that. I've worked in restaurants for years before, so I continued sternly but politely reiterating we did not enjoy the two plates, asked for the check, tipped well, and never returned. The worst experience I'ever had in a restaurant. Ever. So much so that 1.5 years later, I still randomly think about it.

Zero professionalism, no hospitality, and probably way too over their head with how popular this restaurant is for Middle Eastern cuisine. The food is nothing but genius--fantastic concepts like their roasted carrots, soft, spicy outer textures with a simultaneously solid and rich core. Their hummus is delectable and thick, offering an appreciated simplistic flavor paired with everything served. Their nutty, sweet, warm halloumi, mezze tasting (various pickled veggies offering a cool addition and sometimes a kick), ribeye steak & chicken souvlaki blew me away. The steak was as good as it was last time (9.9/10), and the chicken souvlaki was soft, cooked to perfection served with a zingy garnish of pickled onions. For dessert, their chocolate spiced mousse was a run-of-the-mill chocolate mousse. It was good, but I wasn't getting much of the spice. The service at our time there has a funny backstory--reservations were accidentally made at their sister restaurant, Medina. However, due to it being a special occasion, George (shoutout) managed to find us a perfect seat on the second level, overlooking the inner workings of the exposed aesthetic of the restaurant.
