The place was good. The food tasted fresh, the tables were clean, and the drinks were good. I mixed the mint cucumber with their lemonade. The staff were not very helpful with any suggestions. I don't come to Cava often, so I wanted to be sure what was good to eat. Everything on your receipt will be rung in individually but will still total what you've ordered. Here's my cava order as a pita & a bowl!! & the little sauce on the side is a 1/2 & 1/2 mix of these 2 dressings! Cava is SO good, one of my favorite foods, I could literally eat this everyday. The food is always fresh & my orders are always consistent. I've came here several times and the food is always good and service is quick with no issues but today I ran into one of their employees (Allison) that has an attitude that honestly makes it not worth coming to and worth considering not coming back. I rather go to a different cava with more professional employees. It seemed as if I and other customers were a burden to her the way she was throwing our bowls down the line and visibly irritated when we wanted to wait for items that were not yet finished cooking. First time dining with CAVA during COVID and I felt pretty good about the experience overall. My son and I visited on a Wednesday around 1:30 and while the two shaded tables outside were taken, no one was sitting inside. One other person came in towards the end and sat on the opposite side of the dining room. Every other table is marked off, all staff were masked appropriately, and anyone entering for pickup was also masked. I usually order the same thing-a super greens bowl with roasted red pepper hummus, tzatziki, and eggplant and red pepper. I always get the honey harissa chicken , now that it's an option. Toppings: tomatoes and onions, diced cucumbers, Fresno peppers, kalamata olives. I was surprised to not see the sriracha yogurt dressing offered so I chose the harissa vinaigrette and the dill cucumber yogurt. Everything was, as usual, fresh and delicious. I really liked the new vinaigrette which was quite spicy! My son got a kids meal with rice, chicken pita , pita chips and hummus. Oh and of course his favorite part-milk. He ate all the chicken, some rice, and a couple chips so it was a win in my book! I am normally in about once a week here after playing volleyball in the evenings. When I've come in it's always near close, so the shop is typically pretty empty. I like getting a Rice Bowl with falafel. Imagine it's like chipotle, but with Mediterranean food. So you go down a line saying the ingredients you want mixed in. I normally get it with a side of pita as well. The pita sometimes is hard, but I think it's just because I'm coming in so close to the end of the day. Tonight, I went to pick up my "Too Good To Go" order from CAVA Kingstowne, for which I prepaid. Pick up time is 9:45 to 10:00 p.m. I arrived at 9:57 - the doors were locked, a customer was being helped, and when I held up my phone (to show my order), the person behind the counter gave the "cut" across the neck sign. Forget that I had prepaid for my food, but to treat any customer that way (lock the doors before actual closing time), is rude and in the long run, probably self-defeating. Their unorganized, messy and just a super terrible first time experience, wouldn't waste my time here. The manager was nice tho but he didn't really do anything to help he just talk about the cookie and walked away, where if he had talked to me and reassured the issue could be fixed I prolly would of finished my order without the cheese. You start off with a base (salad, rice, pita, or grains), dips/spread, protein (falafel, grilled chicken, grilled meatballs, braised beef, spicy lamb meatballs, or braised lamb), toppings (lemon wedges, pickled onions, quinoa tabbouleh, etc.), and then dressings. I did half basmati rice and half lentils, Crazy Feta and hummus, falafels, kalamata olives, feta cheese, and crispy wontons. I was pretty disappointed, as I believe this is the only Cava that has been super cheap and meager in terms of its portions, let alone very inconsistent. All the ingredients were super cold, and even with the small-sized scoops for the dips/'sauces, the staff had only had it half-full, even lessening the amount. The kicker was that for the patrons that came after us, their bowls were overflowing, and not because they had salad that took up space, but an extremely generous amount of rice and toppings and meat! The 'free' pita bread that was given was extremely stale and rock-hard; the replacement was hot, but it had a very off-putting chemical taste to it. First time eating at this establishment and I was pleasantly surprised! My husband and I came in at around 9 pm on a Saturday and the place was pretty empty. Customer service was average, maybe because it was towards the end of the day and employees were tired. Anyways, my husband ordered the "Build your own" bowl with rice, chicken, all toppings, crazy feta+ roasted pepper hummus+ spicy sauce (cant remember the name but it's literally fire red). I wasn't very hungry and was about to order a side of falafels until I realized I could order a falafel mini pita for pretty much the same price- score!! There was no one else at the restaurant, so we had lots of seating options, however, must all of them were dirty, -1 star for that reason! On the way to our seats we saw the selection of drinks, this was my favorite part of my dining experience! They had 6 different teas/lemonades and a soda machine. The teas are sooooo delicious and refreshing! My favorite was the pineapple, apple, mint! After getting our drinks we proceeded to eat. My pita was fantastic, great portion for someone who isn't that hungry or wants a lighter take (the bowls are pretty big). I honestly felt pretty stuffed after eating my mini pita, I like that you can choose up to 3 sauces even tho it's small. My favorite "sauce" was the tzatziki (I probably spelled that wrong). I will definitely order again! My husbands bowl was pretty delicious as well, first I thought he was crazy for asking for all toppings, but it actually made his bowl very flavorful! I'll have to do that next time. The chicken on was very juicy and tasty, and I really liked the beets, it added a nice texture!! By the way they also have a beet lemonade- delicious!
