Now I hate to can a place that is trying to provide a vegan option but wow. Not good I'm afraid. My burger was passable but expensive for what it was, my wife's was inedible. The 'felafel' was unlike anything is seen before. Grey and hard. They'd have better luck calling it a mock chicken burger. Probably not somewhere I'll ever come back for.

What I have to say they excel with though is the milk shakes - classically creamy ice cream and milk creations, with lashings of your chosen flavour mixed through, you can get a classically impressive milkshake from here. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, they will give you home style food at a home style price - the service is friendly, just like you'd expect from a 'diner' style location. Anyway, when I recently came down to Victor to relive the old days I decided to pay this place a visit. Basically it is purely a fish and chip shop, and even has a nice sit down area, though that is not really the purpose of coming here (take away is much better). The chips aren't all that bad, and the dim sims are pretty nice as well. However, one should be aware that this place does get pretty busy during the high seasons.

For some reason, there is always Mango Macadamia cheesecake in the McCafe, whereas so many other Macca's have sold it, or don't carry it. Ok. so I can be a little bit obsessive about this particular offering. I've driven to three McDonalds chasing a slice in town. If you haven't tried it, and like you cheesecake and dessert and stuff like that, hunt down a slice, with your favoured choice of coffee, and enjoy. And remember, when you're craving it, and you can't find any, there'll be some, here, waiting. :)

It doesn't matter much if you come through the drive through, or park and come in to the counter, it's as bad either way. I'm going to be generous, and suggest it may just be that they like to be thorough with what they're doing. It's not even like it's one staff member, I'm talking here lunch, dinner, random mid afternoon, over multiple visits over some three years - every single time, there's a noticeable delay in getting your food. They do, however, get the order right. In all those visits here, I've never once had an order with incorrect food in it. As far as the food itself, likewise, it's been what I expect from KFC - no stale chips or dried out chicken. That's saying something, too, maybe all the stores should slow down some and make sure they're doing it right?

Klaus is a character, but then I guess you have to be, offering hot dogs to crowds of holidaymakers. Open daily on weekends and over the school and public holidays, he tends to stay open till the park is empty, serving up traditional food with a smile. A good, quick alternative to fish and chips while you're at Victor, and something of a local tradition - what more could you ask for??
