After 2 years with CAtuned rear camber arms on my 2001 bmw m3, the passenger side arm snapped in half when backing up in a parking garage. Even the shop that works on my car here in Sacramento said to take this garbage off my car before it causes a problem. I didn't listen and now I'm out $300 on a tow, $500 on quality non oem arms, and install labor for the second time. Don't buy their garbage products. In response: I have emailed you guys in the past it was my fault that the arms didn't fit without a spacer as well. I called you guys to have you look at them, you didn't answer. I called you guys when they broke, you didn't answer. You say my car isn't maintained when I have $20k+ of receipts from well known shops installing parts JUST LIKE YOUR SHITTY ARMS (installed by north bay Bavarian in Santa Rosa) so I know that they were installed correctly. I purchased a stage 2 Gold package rebuilt engine, a used transmission (swapped for mine) and all the auxiliaries that Igor had, to the tune of more than $10,000, to have him build me a turnkey engine. When I got the engine home, put it all in and went to hook up the driveshaft, I learned that there were two different output flanges that connect the driveshaft to the transmission. Igor had given me a transmission with the large size output flange that was completely incompatible with my driveshaft. I went back to Igor, explained the situation and he sent me home with an "adaptor" that was supposed to allow the two incompatible parts to mate. But, no such luck. Not only was there absolutely no room to get the adaptor between the two parts, there would have been no way to get the 6 bolts in place to hold the entire mess together. So, back to Igor to explain my predicament. I said, "Igor, if you would just give me the flange off my old transmission, I'll just replace it on the new transmission and it will be all good". Now, he Should have responded, "My bad dude. Mistakes happen. We should not have overlooked that because, Of Course, we know that there are two different incompatible flanges. Don't worry, we'll make it right for you. Have it towed to a local bmw mechanic, we'll send you the flange and have them do the fix and we'll pay for everything". "We've got your back". But that was not his response. Instead, he said, "Oh, I won't be able to find the transmission, I've got so much stuff in storage. Don't worry, bring me your driveshaft and I'll give you another used one that has the correct larger flange. The driveshafts are all the same size for those years (e30 325i) and all fully interchangeable", he assured me. Awesome, I thought. Igor's got my back. I live it Reno and it's a 200 mile round trip to his place. The cost to me are starting to stack up for his mistake. But, I'm not interested in getting into an argument. Just want to get the problem solved. So, back I go to swap out my driveshaft. He gives me a driveshaft with the larger flang. So, Great! That'll work. But, I notice the center bearing is Significantly different than mine, Which I point out. But I'm told, "Oh, don't worry, it will fit. There is plenty of adjustability". Hmm... Yeah, that sounds right. BMW would have done that after all. But, No. COMPLETELY incompatible. There's no way to make the Big center bearing fit into the slot (molded into the bottom of the body) for the small bearing which is the one I needed.So, once more I called my good budy Igor and explained the problem to which he responsed, "Don't take this the wrong way but I just think you don't know what you are doing. Have the car towed back to us and we will finish it up for you (Remember, I live a 100 miles away. That's a VERY Expensive tow. Do you think he offered to pay for it? Or to pay for Anything since, Afterall, it Was His mistake). I've been doing mechanical work on cars and motorcycles all my life. I Certainly Do know how to tell when something Just Won't fit. And, No, they used Three different driveshafts during those years and they are all incompatible. You Have to have the right one for your car. So, by this time I KNEW, For Sure, that I was being Completely Gaslighted. Igor simply didn't want to help me and probably thought he had a dupe from the beginning and figured he could take me for some more money. Igor is Steeped in these old cars. It's Inconceivable that he didn't know, all along, that he was giving me parts that would not work. Other things that went wrong: 1) He installed M30 injectors on the car which meant that it barely ran when I first started it up. They were supposed to be M20s, to which he admitted and said "sorry dude, mistakes happen. We're human. Bring them back and we'll give you and exchange. Except that, after the driveshaft fiasco, I figured I better find someone new to help me out. My local BMW mechanic notice it immediately (because the injectors had the wrong color - yellow). But, I had to have the car towed to him and pay him for his services. More bills piling up. And, he also, Finally resolved the driveshaft issue. Yes, I had to pay for the proper flang, a new driveshaft with correct center bearing and installation. 2) He failed to intall the water jacket plug on the passenger side so that coolant dumped all over my floor before I finally figured out what was going on. I didn't even know there was a plug there. Certainly, he should have pulled that off my donor engine. There were other parts that were not on my "turnkey" new engine when I picked it up, Which, he EmPhatically told me I never delivered to him, like my oil level sensor and dipstick tube. Well, I had a picture of the engine going into the truck With the dipstick tube on it and I have never found either the sensor or the dipstick tube in my garage. There were other things but now I am at the end of my Yelp word allowance. Darn. I love Igor :) read more

This is a well overdue review for Igor and his crew at CATuned. I own a '95 e34 540i and currently run their coilovers. I spent months literally scouring the forums for which setup was the best, and quite frankly there wasn't much info on what the "e34 community census" was about CATuned suspension. I knew at the time the e30 guys loved them and didn't see anything negative so I pulled the trigger and bought these with the sole purpose of daily driving the shit out of them. I purchased them in March '18, had them shipped/installed in April and within 9 months, put 17k miles on them. As they stand, I couldn't be more happy. I commuted in San Diego roughly 20 minutes both ways of freeway everyday, had two weekend trips to San Luis Obispo (6hrs up coast), drove/moved out to Atlanta, Georgia, and now commute roughly 1 to 1-1/2 hours a day both ways on 2 lane back country roads. They truly cease to amaze me. If you are questioning whether to go the Bilstein B8s and Vogtland/H&R/Eibach/BavAuto lowering springs route....don't. Man up, spend the extra money and buy CATuned coilovers. I also have a '91 e34 525i on Billy 8s with Vogtland Springs and I'm waiting for them to blowout so I can purchase another set from Igor. You have your options of spring rates, colors, and get 32 valve adjustments. I honestly forget what Igor recommended but I went with what he suggested....I think 8k fronts and 6k backs, but specifically had them rated for aggressive street use only. I have yet to bottom out or rub a fender...I will occasionally lift a tire pulling into a driveway but that's more of my fault than anything. I drive the hell out of my e34...but treat her like the proper princess she is with nothing but german OEM parts and California made suspension. read more

Don't let the name fool you - they service a variety of makes and models. Call in advance to check. Extraordinarily fair prices (in one instance I was charged 1/3 of the lowest price I had been quoted at several shops downtown) for what appears to be excellent work. Most of all, I appreciated him leveling with me when my car had an electric problem that only affected my license plate light. He checked it out (free of charge) and then told me what would be involved in precisely fixing the problem, or offering me the alternative of fixing it later if I was unlucky enough to get a fix-it ticket. (Thankfully that hasn't happened, yet). I would anticipate this kind of frank and practical advice from a family member, but rarely from an auto mechanic. First of all, I drove to the Fulton address thinking that Igor was still located at this address. I learned about Igor on one of the specialized BMW E30 sites. The operators of the Fulton garage told me that Igor had moved to West Sacramento some months ago. Researching what happened it appears that they are now CAtuned and are at 970 F Street in West Sacramento. I hope Yelp updates this information. While I was visiting the Fulton garage another gentleman drove in with the same expectation I had. I got online with Igor after my failed visit and we exchanged notes. I told Igor that I had attempted to have oil leaks attributable to a valve gasket and brake fluid reservoir fixed elsewhere on an urgent basis, but was not successful in establishing an immediate appointment. Igor told me he was willing to open his garage early so that he could conduct an inspection and provide an estimate. I agreed, received the estimate, immediately scheduled an appointment, had the fixes completed, and I'm happy to say my leaks have stopped. I will be returning to CAtuned soon for other work as I was impressed both by the service and responsiveness of Igor and his crew. The new location offers much more space for the impressive collection of classics that CAtuned has as well as all the work they do. Highly recommended. read more

Auto heaven is a great place to get your car fixed. I had my timing belt service done there, they finished the job the same day I dropped it off. Their prices are comfortable. Over all good quality and good work. Igor, (the shop foreman) knows his stuff especially when it comes to BMWs. Plus they have interesting shop projects going on all the time. These guys really were my saving grace! In a moment when my car was possibly nearing the end (or so I keep being told), Auto Heaven kept my car from dying and going straight to Car Hell. (Which I believe it will, once I can afford something that doesn't constantly break down with the most insane of issues.) I brought my car in on a spur of a moment and Igor (I think that was his name) was kind enough to fit me in. I had rented a car, so thankfully I wasn't stranded, but they couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car and it took them nearly two days to get it back to me. Not that I'm disappointed or anything, I mean, my car is a piece of shit and it was so nice of the guys at Auto Heaven to give my shitty car some R&R. So a day and a half later, Igor calls me to say that they've done everything they can but couldn't really figure out what was wrong. They screwed things in, rearranged a few things and felt like it was finally working. For all that work, and no real confirmation of a solution, all they charged me was $90 (the amount they charge for one hour of work)!!!! WOW!!!! I was so impressed and so appreciative, because I'm as poor as a hobo. Their "fix" worked pretty well, but it's kind of worn down after a couple of months. That's okay because I've resigned to the fact that my car is a piece of crap and it's just gotta last me until I can afford something better. The reason for the lack of one star? Well, with all that rinky-dinking, someone forgot to put everything back into it's place. When I brought the car to Jiffy-Lube to get an oil change, the guys informed me that a couple of things hadn't been reattached properly and my dad ended up having to go get a couple of parts to put it back together. Thankfully the missing metal things hadn't interrupted the running of my car, but that shouldn't be something a car mechanic forgets. Also, right after I drove off with my now working car, my A/C stopped working. I called Auto Heaven to see if they knew what went wrong but they couldn't see how that related to the my previous problem. I couldn't find time to bring the car in for them to diagnose the reason for my warm air, but I'm pretty sure it's no coincidence that my A/C suddenly stopped blowing cool air. Alright, so here's the deal. My buddy who is on leave from the military came down for a month. Long story short his e46 M3 broke down. We towed the car to CAtuned thinking that we would have a quick fix. Boy, were we wrong. We dropped it off &I they didn't have any room in the garage so it was parked outside, dropped off on Thursday. Said that they would get to the car the next day... A week and a half later of my friend who's car it was.. HIS ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION because he drove it from where he was stationed in South Dakota. They call & tell us they couldn't even fix the car. AFTER A WEEK IN A HALF. What happened to looking at it the next day? We even stopped by 4 days after and the car hadn't even moved... It was still in the same spot we dropped it off at. On top of all that, they are trying to make us pay for the "labor" they did. What the hell did they even do? Also since they didn't even move the car, sap from the tree for a WEEK IN A HALF of sitting there ruined the paint. Never doing business with these amateurs again.
