This bar has great salads! Some of the best salads in town, which is strange because it's really a bar first. With that said, it took a very long time to get our food, and the service was just okay. There was a musician setting up outside and our table was in the way, which was just a bit awkward. At one point she tried to move around us but was putting an extension chord over and under our table. That was a bit off putting. She definitely could've asked us to move a bit but instead just sort of started throwing the chord over us to attempt to avoid us. It was odd The drinks were great and overall staff were wearing their masks. It would've been a 4 star review if not for the lady setting up her equipment and having a less than stellar attitude. Good food, even when understaffed for lunch I was taken here for my birthday, 4 of us at the table. We were quickly seated at noon. The waiter was friendly and accommodating, but he wore too many hats. The place only had a few tables of patrons. My drink refill took a long time to make it back. The burger I ordered (Mac and cheese cheeseburger) was outstanding. Very filling, and priced right. The crispy, delicious fries were seasoned perfectly, hot, and served in at metal can. Very cool. The decor was nice, with reclaimed barnwood-style walls, and a casual vibe. Tables down the middle, and booths along the wall. A bit tight at the table closest to the entrance. Hard for people to go around when entering and leaving. I would take out that first table when it is not busy. All in all, a very nice place to eat and socialize. Much preferred to the breakfast spot that preceded Cattleman's. I imagine it would also be good for a casual dinner and drinks with friends. I will definitely go there again. Main Street Algonquin is revitalized with numerous quality restaurants from casual to upscale, and Cattleman's is a positive addition to the area. read more

Great food, great service and a welcoming atmosphere. Needs a waiting area however. Used to have one when the previous restaurant was here but just it's an online gaming area. Bad use of space. I love having such an awesome restaurant so close to where I live, in Downtown Algonquin! First off, the food is cooked to perfection! I am extremely pleased, as well, to note that Cattleman's serves the Impossible Burger. Their fries and tater tots are excellent, and their servings are decently sized. I'm quite happy with the experiences I've had thus far, dining at Cattleman's, and it's wonderful to be able to stop in after work, on a nice day, since it's just a short walk from my place. Their beer selection, while I haven't seen whether they have much (if anything at all) on tap, is quite good. They have some wonderful IPAs, like Bear-y White and Zombie Killer, and the owner is extremely nice. I will definitely be back, and will share pictures with all of you when I am! read more

This place is good - SOMETIMES. And here in, lies the problem. When you get them on the right day, the food is really good. The only thing consistent about the food however, is how inconsistent it is. Some days the burgers are awesome, other days they're 30% smaller than normal, take 45 minutes to get, and come out under cooked. So as long as you don't mind waiting a long time for an undersized, under cooked meal, you're golden. However - when the food does come out correctly, it's good! The burgers are (usually) really juicy and yummy. The fries are cool, and are served in a fun way. I'll come back here, but just not race back here. I wish they could get their act together. If it was consistently good, I'd consistently patronize them. read more

We have eaten here many times. We've come on different days of the week and times of day and happy to say food has always been consistently good. The burgers are great and love the fries. They also have tater tots which is a plus and the popcorn is a favorite. Hope they don't change anything food related, it works keep things the same. Only complaint would be the tight space. The place is not very big. If you get a booth you are good, but the row of tables is too tight and people constantly bump into you and wait staff uses your table as a temp space. read more

A buddy at work told me about this place so my wife and I had to check it out. We went on Tuesday at lunch. On the positive: our server was great (I'm sorry I don't remember her name). we absolutely loved their decor both inside and out-as you can see by the photos. We also loved their presentation and the uniqueness of their plating. OK, now on the negatives: my wife and I ordered medium burgers and both were medium well. Coleslaw was very bland as were the onion straws and crispy fries which they do not make in house AND the burgers. Now the worst: there is this wonderful seasoning that God has given us - SALT! The executive chef seems to have a pretty decent resume however he needs to pay more close attention to the cooks that work there as I would be very surprised if there was any salt used on or in any of the items served. Food in restaurants should be served the way they should be eaten and not be served to be seasoned by the customer. I really wish I could give this place a better rating, but the most basic skill in cooking is correct seasoning... Or in this case seasoning at all. Been here twice and had a burger both times. Ordered medium and they were pretty well done, the burger to bun ratio favors the bun and could use a little S&P. The cole slaw could use some improvement, too. It's kinda dry, with plenty of sugar, but could use a little vinegar. I don't wanna stomp their balls too hard core, but it is what it is. Hmmm first and likely my only visit here was on Fathers Day. The place has "Brew" in its name. I'd like a nice brew today except everything is served from bottles ... no draft beer here. Ok. Then ordered 12 wings. 6 hot 6 mild as the wife doesn't like the hot stuff. My error for not demanding they be separated as the sauce from the hot ones leeched on the plate to most of the mild ones. Although they have a selection of appetizers, we went straight to the main attraction. (Note: the Michigan cheese curds are actually Wisconsin cheese curds, but that's probably best). The burger has a flame broiler taste in a fresh tasting brioche bun. Good thick hand packed burgers are getting harder to find. Too many places consider a burger an afterthought. The burger is served with a can, yes, a can of fries. The serving is much more generous than it first appears. On the side comes their homemade slaw, which is fresh but nearly flavorless. Place has a nice sized bar. Overall, great burger great fries, reasonable prices, nice environment and good service. Get the slaw right and change the menu to reflect the Wisconsin cheese curds and it's five stars. I give it 4.5, I say go get a burger! read more

Well I'll tell you. I live over 30 miles from Cattleman's but I try and go once a month because I love it that much. So what happened tonight? They forgot the mashed potatoes!!! OMG! I had to subtract one star. Do you realize how much my wife and I love these garlic red mashed potatoes? Enough to drive every month (sometimes more often) to get them. Look, the pork chops were excellent tonight, very flavorful and meaty. The soup and salad were awesome as always. The veggies are great as well. Okay, I got three Mai Tai's to go because I love them that much. But there was something missing tonight without the mashed. I gotta have them. So I know it gets hectic and the volume of takeouts has increased. Okay okay, I won't take away a star. I still love you Cattleman's, and we will be back.
