MARGARINE-In this world and in this dairy community who uses plastic spread? Shrimp seemed to be heavily doused in "smoke" flavor, again no grill marks. For this price point I had much higher expectations. Was excited for a steak in Declo, but won't be going back or recommending.

We came to Idaho from Arizona for Christmas; to spend time with family, friends and go snowboarding at Pomerelle since we have house in Albion. I am not a huge steak eater but I have been eyeing this restaurant for over a year and couldn't wait to try it after everyone I spoke to raved about it. We passed this restaurant everyday driving from Albion to Burley and finally had a chance to try it. I came with my bf and my daughter and this place is so massively huge on the inside and everyone is super nice. The one thing I wanted to eat were the rocky mountain oysters mainly because I haven't had it in years and ALSO so I can persuade my 12 year old to try it without being told exactly what is was. Yes, I am that mother. She isn't an adventurous eater so I thought I would try anyway- unfortunately they ran out of rocky mountain oysters but that was the only downer of the night. I can honestly say, I cant wait to make the 12 hour drive back to Declo just to eat at this place again. After we ate and went home, all we talked about on the drive back to Albion was how delicious dinner was and how we cant wait to come back. I was so surprised at how good everything was I asked for the next 4 days to come back just to order the same thing. We ordered: $10.99 Fried pickles: 5/5- perfectly battered pickles and very delicious $25.99 Dude (med rare) with fries: 5/5- meat was cooked to perfection $43.99 (2 orders) Filet mignon (1 med rare and 1 med) with one baked potato and one loaded baked potato: 5/5: Flavor from the wood was absolutely INCREDIBLE! I haven't had a steak like this in so long it blew my mind. The baked and loaded potatoes were also amazing! Drinks: $7 (2) Chardonnay- 5/5 $3.50 Dr. Pepper 5/5 $13- Double jack and coke 5/5 Total bill 166.91- Overall: Absolute steal in my opinion! I would have paid double that for the amazing meal we had. Cant wait to come back and eat everything!

During the summer they have a covered patio and often have live music. Most tables have a view of one or both of the community's two prides: the city square and the refurbished Wilson Theater. If you go in before 5pm you eat and drink in the bar. After 5pm they open up the dinning room and no under age persons are allowed in the bar. Regarding food: when the owners stick with dishes developed by themselves they excel - finger steaks, potachos, etc. But a majority of their menus is mainstream food service items which is 'okay.' In the past they have employed chefs who created fantastic specials but recently the specials are food service items too as are their desserts But it's the best dining experience in the Mini-Cassia (Minidoka and Cassia countries) area. Service is good when you get a waitress who's made it past their training, but turnover (except in the bar) keeps servicing level moderate. The bar has somehow retained a cadre of good bartenders. The owners are community stewards and take pride in the renovation work they did on this and their other restaurant, E Street Deli. As a local I appreciate there is a restaurant of its caliber in our little town. As a recovering restaurant and bar owner I can appreciate the challenges they face in staffing, training and developing from scratch dishes that appeal to the locals. It would be a five star in the Mini-Cassia area and somewhere between a three and four when compared to other southern Idaho restaurants. If you are looking for the closest thing to fine dinning in the Mini-Cassia area this is your first stop.
