What an amazing place that I honestly didn't even know existed! The people working here are so knowledgeable and good to the cats. The girls had the best time playing with the cats as well! They have small rooms to go in where you can hangout with the cats in an enclosed, safe environment. I can definitely tell that the cats here are really loved and cared for! This is such a loving place for these cats. Also, shoutout to ASAP for being so good with the girl scouts who visited them as well!

We adopted a sweet cat from here in July and we could not be happier. I recommend this place, the application process is a breeze and is paperless. One difference between ASAP from other shelters is that you can foster cats and that they have different age cats avaliable. They will also not discriminate against people with disabilities and try to match you with a cat/kitten. I really enjoyed my experience and highly recommend ASAP.

We went here to adopt a friend for him. The cat we adopted, she told us all he had was a scratched cornea. This was sad and all, but not anything that would affect our current, healthy cat. Next thing we know, the cat actually had (FVR - feline viral rhinotracheitis). She lied to us saying there was nothing wrong with the cat besides a scratched cornea. When we told her about the FVR she said, "Oh yea ALL my cats have it, it's very common". A few weeks later our once healthy cat is extremely sick, we spent abunch of money trying to see what was wrong with him. Extremely shady and very messed up to give a cat with health issues, that can affect your healthy cat at home.

Or do we take into consideration the totality of their behavior, and more importantly, do we try to find a life-saving alternative?" Why were these alternatives not sought out after the first bite? Why did it happen three additional times? VCAS may have euthanized him, but SPARC's negligence in handling him is what killed him. Shame on this rescue. Shame on the higher ups. And shame on Dan Bolton for going on the news to blame VCAS for his rescues negligence. Absolutely despicable.

Had two really disappointing experiences…read more Second time here within 1 month of eachother. only because I was referred here by my nieces that adopted 2 kittens a few months ago. I was really hopeful on finding some kittens for my kiddos but the lady that shows you the kittens seems to not want anyone to adopt . She asks what we're looking for so I respond , short haired to avoid too much shedding. I did my research before coming in so I know there's breeds that fall in that category. Her response to us was that all cats shed (with an attitude and shrugs) . That was last month when I came in with my kids. We received the same response when we came in today . Brought my nieces with me to see if there were any kittens we liked. The same woman helped us today. I guess she's the one assigned to show the cats here . She's the older woman with glasses and pink hair .

What a great turn out, so many people who hopefully will provide a great home. They had dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, roosters and even horses. Normal fees are around $50 for adoptions, today that feel was waived. The savings could go towards the pet supplies.

On 12/17/23 we adopted 2 orange tabby kittens from Paw Works in side Pet Smart. As we were putting them in the crate 1 sneezed. By the time we got home they sneezed 4 or 5 times. I told my son to make a vet appointment as soon as possible. I thought they had Upper respiratory infections. He took them on Tuesday 12/19/23 and they were both put on antibiotics. Then Saturday 12/23/23 the smaller of the 2 not showing much improvement ( now having watering eye and wheezing) with our local vet out of town we took him to the emergency vet. Where he received a bit more medication. I guess they are lucky we have them . Instead of being sick and ignored in a small glass box . We love our new babies.

I know that another Animal Rescue does this type of thing (selling donated items to raise money for the animals) but I've never seen it inside the mall. Th clothing/items for resale were nice (more than just the Goodwill) and there were several cats hoping for adoption near the front windows. I inquired about them (because cats) and while it's not an ideal situation, it's better than them being on the streets. They are looking for volunteers to help work with the animals, so what an amazing way to give back. I plan to be back again because I fully support this cause and hope others can support them, too.

There were several options proposed such as Cesar Millán taking him, West Coast Cane Corso sanctuary to take him in, several dog trainers stepping up to the plate, his death was unnecessary and VCAS jumped the gun quite literally on this case with Bruce. This will negatively affect the publicity of VCAS & in turn the animals eligible for adoption will plummet since no one will want to adopt from here anymore. Unless there is a 360 degree change in ALL employees with educating the public on safety, security, socialization, and proper training then this shelter will not succeed. I'm sorry to say it, but walking in here feels like walking into a cesspool of unhappy and miserable employees who take joy in power tripping over the control they have to potential families looking and willing to adopt dogs. Shame on VCAS. The fight is not over and we will continue to fight the good fight until the battle is won. Justice for Bruce.

I remember one doggie photo on their website that actually was a bit scary looking, and it turned out that the dog with the 'tough guy' photo was in the kennel right next to one we were investigating. Funny thing was, in person, the tough guy was not even slightly scary, in fact he was as gentle as a lamb. Guess who came home with us? Yeah the one I'd judged incorrectly based on one photo; he is the treasure of our family now, such a good boy. Well, when the following August (2025) rolled around and the shelter had another adoption event, we decided to find a playmate for our boy dog. We looked at a few and settled on one female that obviously did not like being in doggie jail, seems she was a bit mouthy at times which made her unpopular with visiting folks. I saw potential though, and we took her home with us, and as I felt, the light nipping has diminished over time. Though a tad crazy, she is a fun addition to our home and she can actually fly at times in our large backyard. Both dogs have grown quite affectionate with one another over time, and both even get along with our kitty. Overall, VCAS is a great place to find a friend, and give them a loving forever home.

My boyfriend and I had done some research and we decided to seek Jeremy's help based on the reviews…read moreand his website. We were told that we would need to leave our Australian Shepherd with him for a couple of weeks and would not be able to visit him during that time. We didn't like that we would be completely in the dark about his training or how he was adjusting to being away from his family but we respected the rules. When our dog was brought back to us, he came back injured. We were told that it was just "hotspots" and that the electric shock necklace was only used sparingly. I took my dog immediately to the doctor. I was advised these were not hotspots. See the pictures attached, they speak for themselves. My dog learned a couple new tricks but training with Jeremy did not help with his fear of people. My Aussie came back with his same fear of people and was returned with these terrible injuries. If other people had a good experience, that's wonderful. But not getting any kind of detailed update, pictures or even visitation to see the training process and progress and how my dog was acclimating was not well received. Setting aside that this is a dog training program, I don't know who would ever purchase an item or a service sight unseen or untested and with little to no in depth information. As an aside, I did call to report the business to various agencies. I was advised at the time that there had been previous reports and pending reports (they could not provide me with information due to ongoing investigation). I don't know what that means, it could be nothing but I think that this information should be given to potential new clients just for the sake of making informed decisions. We ended up taking him to someone else (Teka Martin with K9 toddlers) and our Aussie is much better now about his fear of people. Lastly, I'd like to preemptively say, please do not contact me to harass me about my review. A review is a review. It is a forum for people to be able to make informed decisions. I am giving an account of strictly what was personally known to me, any discussions I had with a Jeremy's team and my observations. Nothing more or less. I can't opine as to what I think of Jeremy's methods. All I know is it was not for us and our dog came back home injured.
