I adopted my 5 yr old kitty from here in 2020. The adoption process was very smoothe. They let me do a one month trial adoption to see if she and I would be a good match. I wasn't sure as I brought her home but by the next morning I knew I couldn't live without her. I really appreciate the work they do rescuing and fostering their cats. I found Molly, the love of my life, here. I was looking for an older cat to adopt and saw a listing at Cats Cradle's website for a calico, so I went in one Saturday to meet her. However, the calico and I didn't click. Another kitty, Molly, was playing in a tree, and I decided to go and say hi to her for fun, and I fell in love. Apparently the potential adopters of Molly couldn't make it. After observing her for a bit, I decided I needed her in my life. I asked the foster mom if it would be ok if I adopted her, and she said yes! The adopting process was so easy. Alicia was extremely helpful and let me pick Molly up after I had gone to Petco for pet supplies. She and Karen continued to help me for the following week via text because Molly had severe diarrhea from her deworming medication. They offered to take Molly back while her diarrhea passed, but I decided against it since I didn't want her to keep hopping from place to place -- I felt this would make her transition into our home more challenging. I went back to Cats Cradle for Molly's third and last vaccine a couple weeks later and it was fast and a painless process. If you are looking to adopt a cat/kitten, do not hesitate to come to Cats Cradle. I had such a great experience, and I can't imagine life without Molly. She's the sweetest kitty ever, and so adorable that she melts my heart every moment of every day! read more

I adopted a kitten from Cat's Cradle who was having difficulty finding herself a home, due to not getting along with other cats around her. The process was fast and easy, with absolute care taken by the staff in ensuring as best they could this kitten was going to a safe home. My kitten and I were sent home with a wealth of instructions on how to acclimate her to her new home environment and a bunch of goodies for her to play with, a stylish collar and a custom made kitty blanket from one of the volunteers, all placed in one of those reusable fabric grocery-type bags, which quickly became one of her favorite toys to this day! read more

Not sure where they get their cats, maybe the local shelter, which in Ventura County is supposed to be no kill, but they can still reduce the population by 5% supposedly. So, if that's where they get pets, they are helping a teeny tiny bit, like just enough to claim they're a rescue to keep their thrift store open, it seems. But you won't know from calling them, where all you'll get is a msg machine that talks about everything but the rescue part, including not telling where they get the cats and if they take in strays. Doesn't even mention it, just when to come down and spend money in their store basically. read more

While driving in Ventura, we spotted this place and since we love cats and thrift stores we had to stop and shop. Store is well organized and staff is friendly. Would shop here regularly if I didn't live out of town. Also we shopped on a Sunday so it's open Sundays. read more

I called this rescue several times in one day, they have a very nice message that says, "leave a message with your name , number & a brief message....then the connections is disconnected. I sent an email, but never got a response. I wanted to report a cat that is in dire need of rescue. He's been on the street for some time by the looks of him, he literally has a huge "skinned" spot in his side and his fur is hanging off of him. I'm not sure if its mange or her was hit by a car. I'd Ike to help him, but if the rescue isn't available. I'm not sure what to do. The message is very clear that their thrift store is open, so maybe they're only available for "purchases". I'll try to find another rescue, but this one is totally unresponsive. read more

If you need a trap to catch a feral cat, you can get them here. They do not charge, but you do need to have a credit card on file. I had my trap for two months, because the kitten I had was too young to spring the trap. Cats cradle and mercy crusade are two great organizations that are helping reduce the feral cat populations. read more

I adopted my kitten from Cats Cradle and I am so happy with their business. I feel that Cats Cradle Rescue really care about their cats and the homes that they go to! I've had my cat for 1 year now and he is so loving, one of the best cats I've ever owned. They are usually at Petco in Camarillo on Saturday's or Sunday's. The adoption ladies are very nice and really ask good questions before you adopt the kittens/cats. read more

My most recent kitty adoption was from Cat's Cradle and I couldn't be happier! The people working there asked me a lot of questions while I looked at the cats they had and genuinely seem to care about what will happen to the cats they adopt out. They have even called me a few times after the adoption (the first year) to check on the cat and to see if I had any questions that they could help me with. Really great shelter. I would definitely go back to get another cat in the future. read more

My husband adopted a cat from this organization months ago, we asked questions about the possibility of it spraying/having any problems that we should be prepared for. The foster told us the cat was good to go. Fast forward to now and this cat has sprayed urine all over my bed, into the corners of our room even though we took every precaution possible by cleaning his litter 3 times a day and changing it every other day. He wouldn't stop. It's obvious this cat is not adapting to life in our home very well. When I called the rescue to let them know we need to return him Phyllis the woman I spoke to acted as if I was disturbing her and asking her to find a foster home for him to go back to was going to be impossible. As I was on the phone with her, my spouse asked what was being said so I tried to explain to him, she started screaming at me that "it's just a hastle that I'm bringing this cat back without copies of the contract because I (she) can't find any contract.". I told her to not be disrespectful and rude to me while she is talking to me on my phone which is when she hung up on me. The next day, today 9JUN2014, she calls me pleasant as can be and tries to ask me questions about the cat. I told her, "all matters concerning the cat need to be directed to my husband.", she then asked if he didn't want to get rid of it I told her. "Yes he is going to give it back. Are you ready for his number?". I gave her his number and she continued to tell me that having to figure out a way for the foster home to pick up the cat is going to be just so difficult because now she has to talk to my husband and the foster works long hours. I told her, "we all work long hours, but seeing as this is your job I believe you can do it. You will have to call my husband for further questions. You will have to call my husband for further questions.". She then yelled, "Fine then! Goodbye bitch!". I am not amused with her lack of discipline, business conduct, and respect. I believe that I do deserve a formal apology in writing and I don't think that is too much to ask for after the emotional pain I have endured because of the way Phyllis treated me. I hope nobody has to be treated foul by her ever again, and I could never see myself referring someone to adopt from this organization ever again. read more
