My wedding was scheduled for May 5, 2025. On March 27, 2025 I brought my wedding dress to have it altered to fit me because it was a little too large. I also brought in a pair of cuffed jeans and I asked to have the cuff lowered because it was too thick and fit me like capris. I was told by the seamstress that my dress and the jeans would be ready on April19th. I came back on April 19th to pick up my dress and the jeans and was told by the woman seamstress "I didn't have time to do it because I had a lot of prom dresses to do." I was shocked and disappointed because I had trusted her to follow through on her committment. Again, I confirmed with her when I needed my dress and that I had purposely brought my dress in a 7 weeks prior to my needing it so she'd have enough time to do it without rushing and I had called prior to bringing my dress in and was told they needed a minimum of 3-weeks. She then told me to come back in 6 more days, and when I did, my dress still wasn't done but the jeans were; however, when she gave me the jeans she had done them wrong. She cut the entire cuff off and made them into capri jeans that were fraziled at the end and fit me at my mid-calf. She apologized, and then offered me $30 for my jeans, and then refunded me for the cost of the alterations of the jeans. She asked me to come back in 5 days for my wedding dress and I when I did, she had taken the dress in but had an inseam of 1" which looked horrible. Her son told me that they do that so that if I gain weight, I would have enough material to alter the dress to fit me. Well, at that point, I was within 2 weeks of getting married and had no plans on gaining weight. I told her that I didn't like the way it looked and showed her and her son a photo of what the seam was supposed to look like, and she said she would fix it and to come back in 4 days. When I came back I didn't try the dress on, I simply looked at the seams to see if they were like the photo I showed her, which is also what it looked like when I purchased the dress and brought it in to her. On the day of my wedding in the Dominican Republic, I couldn't find the bustle (finger loop) on the dress, so I asked the wedding coordinator and 2 other staff members at the hotel to see if they could find the finger loop and no one could find it because the seamstress had cut it off, shortened my train, and added another button, added a very small loop for the train to connect to the back of my dress, which left me with 2 buttons on the back of my dress with no finger loop. I immediately called the Catherine's Alterations and spoke to the woman who altered the dress and she asked me for my receipt, I told her that I'm in the Dominican Republic getting married in 1 hour and that she had removed my finger loop on the dress. She denied it and I could hear her son in the background telling her to tell me to send a photo, so I did that very moment. I got married, but I had to hold my dress on my forearm the entire evening because she had removed the finger loop. She had also altered the loop that connects to the dress and made it even smaller. They never responded to my texts even after I sent them the photos...basically they ignored me afterwards. This is truly sad because I genuinely liked them and talked to the seamstress' son about people giving bad reviews when it wasn't called for and we both agreed that it's best to work with customers to see if the issue can be fixed; yet, they ignore me with this issue. Please note, I did not call yelling, screaming, demanding, or angry. I was hurt and was trying not to cry. I am very disappointed that they have chosen to ignore me and not try to fix what the seamstress destroyed. This was my wedding day and she put prom dresses over a wedding dress for 3 weeks. While proms are important, a wedding dress is as well. I offered to bring my dress in to show them that the finger loop was missing upon my return to Las Vegas, but they have chosen to ignore me in hopes that I would let it go. I spent $400 to have her alter my dress to fit me and she changed it so I had to carry the dress on my forearm during my reception. I do have photos and would be more than willing to share them if anyone wants to see them. I have a business of my own, and I would never ignore one of my customers especially when they are presenting a problem to me that I caused and one that was very meaningful to that customer. Lastly, I hesitated for over a week to write this review because I had just got back to Las Vegas after my honeymoon and was hopeful that they would call me, but they never did. Sad, but true. I came here YEARS ago much before Yelp times to get some jeans altered to fit me better, as it was around the corner from my parents house. It's been a decade or so now of me bringing either a leather skirt that I scored at a thrift store that doesn't QUITE fit, or getting a dress to look like it was made just for me. And Catherine has yet to ever let me down! She speaks Spanish as a primary language, and it's wonderful feeling like I'm visiting family every time I see her. I always give her plenty of time to complete my fun projects, & it's always nice seeing her kitty lounging around her shop. She does great, honest work, and I trust her with all my projects. She's a wonderful shop owner, and I recommend her to anyone who needs alterations. Great place!!! read more

The whole team did an amazing job. I can't stress enough. I had a low waisted A line and they did a lot of work for a great price and efficient timing. I love them so much. They had to take in the dress about 4-5 inches off waist and other work. read more

Very expensive just to have a zipper replaced. Left a coat to be tailored and it never got done...I came in three times to pick it up (at the times they quoted) and they never even started it. They did a great job on my daughters dress, but it cost more than the dress cost. read more

Seems to be family owned. Everyone there was so nice. I was able to get my outfit altered in about 2 days for a reasonable price. The work was really well done and the ladies were so sweet. Will definitely be taking any other alterations to them. read more

OMG, I was told my dress could not be fixed (zipper would not go up around excess fabric by mfgr). They were wrong! Lol I fixed it in a day and even added a hook and eye for security and my dress is perfect for the formal wedding I'm attending this weekend. Excellent work!!! read more

Excellent service! Friendly & professional! I took a garment to them & they made the impossible, possible. I went to two other locations to get the torso shortened on a romper. (I am a girl of shorter stature.) All two other locations said they couldn't perform alterations. When I went to Catherine's, I got an immediate yes (and with confidence). Plus, she quoted a price $40 less than other locations. It was worth the trip! And they were on time with delivery!! I plan to visit again. They are now my dedicated shop for alterations. read more

I purchased a suit online, but I like a more tapered fit around the ankles. So I brought them here and I'm definitely more than pleased with the finished product. They fit exactly how I want them to and the turn around was quick. I brought them in on Saturday and I was able to pick them up on Tuesday. First of all customer service is a 5 star! She is very sweet lady and pays attention to detail and to what the customer is asking . The prices are cheap and the quality of her work is honestly very good. I have a jacket that I love and refuse to throw out because the elbow had holes, she patched it up and matched the exact color and made my jacket look great . At worked people asked where I got my jacket because the patches were a nice detail. I will definitely return if I need any more tailoring. read more
