I was with her for 9 yrs, she did my hysterectomy and I'm a breast cancer survivor. Then one day I received a letter from her telling me not to come back. If you look at google reviews, she's known to do this. That's a disgusting pattern. In all honesty, my last visit with her was difficult. I had a medical concern, was given false information by her nurses and had to wait 40 mins to see her. I paid for the visit and no treatment was given and she told me to come back but still charged me knowing she was sending me the letter. This is theft! I actually had to do a chargeback and was awarded the money back due to services not rendered. Very cold blooded, dishonest and selfish. The whole 9 yrs she was moody - some days moderately sweet and some just out right mean but I stayed loyal to her. I gave her 9 yrs and she threw me out like trash. At times I felt she looked at me as only dollar signs. Additionally, I had to wait 30-45 mins each time to see her - she triple stacks her appts I assume more $ for her. One of the worst doctors I've ever encountered and I've seen my fair share. She also has some rude nurses that are very judgmental and also moody. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. After reading rave reviews online , i decided to go with her for my pregnancy. she has the book knowledge, not the one you get from experience. she is very sweet, approachable. on the day of delivery, she came to hospital . she was all set to break my water...i told her NOT TO !! i was in no rush..and everything was as normal as it can be. baby was fine..i was fine..but dr. holt was in a hurry. she said i will see how dialted you are first. i said fine. i asked her ok how much? she goes oh i just broke ur water. i was extremely pissed...i had the epi. so i felt nothing...i was in no pain..no complaints... will not recommend her. read more

NOT LGBT friendly or ethical. I chose to visit this doctor for my pregnancy because of the positive reviews, great hospital, and patients mentioning her non judgmental and compassionate (LOL!). I had to wait until I was 11 weeks pregnant to actually get an appointment. After our first appointment upon meeting my female partner she had a lot of questions about our family dynamics and her overall energy was quite uncomfortable. I was open and honest about our dynamics and even told her I needed a place that I'd feel safe. Two days after meeting us, I got a letter in the mail saying "I am no longer able to act as your physician you will need to find a new provider". She sent in the medical records from the apointment and it had all of this information on it that we didn't even cover at our appoitnment . The records included breast exam results (there never was one), stated I had no congestion or cough (if she had examined me or asked she'd know I was dealing with this for weeks), cervical exam (never was one), etc... The psychiatric exam said I had no anxiety and yet I told her I suffer from an anxiety disorder. She had no warmth during the ultrasound to the point that I thought there could be something wrong. I think she was just flying through the appointment to get away from us. This is heartbreaking she didn't even take the chance to know my family and now I'm scared to be open with other doctors and scrambling to find one for my 12 week appointment. I've been seeing Dr Holt for about 6 years now and cannot say enough good things about her. I've recommended multiple friends and I'm so thankful to the friend who recommended her to me! She's delivered both of my kids as well as helped me through a miscarriage and referred me to a fertility specialist when we struggled to get pregnant after the miscarriage. I've always found her to be so kind and helpful and has listened intently to any questions or concerns I've had with zero judgement. read more

The sweet girls at the reception were always friendly and accommodating when it came to scheduling and it was always a pleasure to see and visit with nurse Amber. I'd recently moved to the area and was so sad to have to find another OBGYN as I had loved my previous doctor. I was referred to Dr. Holt by a family friend of my mother in law, and I could not have been happier with my decision! Very nice lady but I got charged an extra charge for a ridiculous reason. SHE asked me about if I wanted children and I told her I was having trouble. I got charged and extra amount because we talked about ways to help conceive children. I mean isn't that standard??? Aren't you allowed to talk about that stuff with your gyno without being charged? She did nothing extra or special for me to get charged for that. I asked the girl on the phone "so I got charged for talking about ways to help me conceive" she said "yes". Yeah screw that. Won't go back to her. Plus I don't feel like she examined me to the fullest. Very quick and then she said bye. But yet I get billed for those quick and not so good services. No thank you. read more

Dr. Holt is one of the worst doctors I have ever seen, she is lazy, lacks thorough assessment skills, and overall does not care for her patients well being. I was her patient during my first pregnancy, which ended in a healthy baby boy, no thanks to her. She misdiagnosed my preeclampsia and mislabeled me as anxious, I am actually just acutely aware of what can go wrong in pregnancy and asked questions about that stuff. I was induced at 39 weeks when I was already 4cm dilated she decided to start pit and break my water, instead of breaking my water first and seeing how I do. She wanted me to deliver quickly not because I was GBS positive but because she wanted to take her dog for a walk. During the last few weeks of my pregnancy I was extremely swollen and told her about this I also had headaches and protein in my urine all of which scream preeclampsia. My BP never went above 130 in office so she did no further testing, but should have done PIH labs, 24 hour urine, and been more aggressive in my visits especially since I was having symptoms! Upon arriving to L&D my blood pressure was 170, my baseline is 100-110, my BP went as high as 230 during my labor and I was told I was anxious, I was not! And BP would not be that high due to anxiety. Even after my epidural my BP was extremely high, she refused to treat the BP, because my PIH labs were negative BUT I am a unique case, something she does not understand. Thank God I made it through labor without having a stroke or seizures this was no thanks to Holt. My labor was wayyy too fast less than 5 hours and left me feeling scarred. While sewing up my episiotomy she decided to have a conversation about nurse on the unit, so unprofessional! I'm trying to bond with my son and she's rambling on. She is risky and non-sealant. She then told me post-partum she would only treat my BP if it was above 180! That is NOT okay! She also told me not to call her about ANY bleeding post-partum even if there were golf ball size clots. I also suffered with crushing nerve pain at the end of my pregnancy which she would not address. I got my medical records from her and al her notes said I had no edema, on my last visit she even commented on how swollen I was! She would also state I had no complaints, but I had told her about my severe back pain, headache. Her notes are a complete fabrication and contain false information. I informed her that post-partum I had increased swelling, headache, an high BP, she refused to mag me which is the treatment for this, she states "I don't mag people a week after baby" That is not evidenced based and she was just being lazy and not treating me properly. I told her about the mag and she began to say "I know you a healthcare professional but," I stopped her there and said you're not being aggressive enough and I no longer need your care. I spent that entire night in the ER getting BP medications and got a new OB that was contemplating mag, but decided against it because the ER was able to control my BP and mag can wreak havoc on the body. I'm now on tons of BP meds trying to control this issue that she would have never caught because she doesn't care enough. I could have died because of her negligence. According to my records I had protein in my urine for 2 months before delivery and that's when my swelling started too, she never told me about the protein until weeks later when it was 3+, she never did labs in office which is totally unacceptable. She risked both my and my babies lives. She lied in her documentation, take care of yourself and avoid her at all costs. ***Update*** Today I met a young lady that also had an awful experience with Holt, she had a blood clot and Dr. Holt misdiagnosed her! She was smart enough to change OBs early on. read more

My experience with Dr. Holt has been quite different. I'm glad I went to her before reading the bad reviews as I wouldn't have given her a chance. Background: I am menopausal and that really sucks! I just moved to the Frisco area and needed to continue my HR journey...and it is a journey. I started with another Dr. in my former city and as is with many women, you have to keep tweaking your meds until you finally find the right blend. Not only that, you have to consider risk vs. benefit. I was impressed immediately b/c she came to get me herself from the waiting room...nice touch! I'll admit that I thought she was 17 and wondered initially about her experience. But we sat down in her office and talked for about 45 minutes. She got my history, listened to my symptoms and offered a possible solution. Which is working out so far. I went back 3 months later for my Wellness visit. I would give her 5 stars if our relationship was based on more than 2 visits over 4 or 5 months. So far I have no complaints with how she has worked with me during this complicated time in my life. read more

We moved from Houston to Frisco when I was 23 weeks pregnant. My OB in Houston recommended Dr. Holt, as they had gone to school together. Everything from the initial call to transferring records to speaking with the office staff to all of my prenatal visits, all the way through delivery, were nothing but pleasant. Dr. Holt is very thorough and personable. After I delivered my son and she checked on us in the hospital, I had a moment of hormonal breakdown. She sat down with me and shared her "not so glamorous" personal pregnancy and delivery stories so I would feel more normal about my own situation. She's not only an amazing doctor, she's also a wife and a mother. I was very happy being under the care of Dr. Holt during my pregnancy, as well as now, for my yearly well visits. I heard good reviews of Dr. Holt from a co worker . I ended up miscarrying and when I went to my OB appointment with her, I was treated like a second class citizen. I was rushed and not even examined. They sent me to a closed lab office for blood work and Dr. Holt's tone was extremely demeaning and snippy. I won't go back to her because she wasn't a supportive and helpful role in this process. Be careful if you're pregnancy doesn't go as planned, you may end up being charged for services that didn't occur and wait an extra 45 minutes after your appointment time, followed by rude and rushed comments that make you question if you're even able to conceive again if you don't spend extra money. I went to see Dr. Catherine Holt this summer and my initial visit went great she was very sweet and seemed genuinely caring. She recommended a follow-up visit which was scheduled that day and a week before my apt. I called in to go-over what would be done and what would have to be paid out of pocket. I was given an amount under $100 which I questioned and she said that she would verify and call me the Monday before my apt. to let me know. I never received a call from anyone that Monday and so I called the office the following morning, and was told that they sent it to my insurance company and that I would not have to pay anything for tomorrows visit and that I just had a $5 balance left over from a previous visit. I go to see Dr. Holt, and as always she is very sweet and I think all is well until I randomly check my healthcare bills online and see that I was hit with a charge almost 3 times as high as what I was originally told. I speak to a Cindy in their office, my insurance company and I even have them speak with each other. My insurance company was more helpful than that office! It turns out that I had something done that Dr. Holt's office coded as "UNNECESSARY" and my insurance company even reached out to them to make sure they submitted everything correctly and they confirmed that they had and because of that I would have to work something out with them. The point of me calling the office beforehand is because I don't like surprises and I believe that patients have the right to be a part of ALL healthcare decisions. Would I have elected to go through with the recommended procedure? Probably! But I feel like I was deceived and forced. This time maybe only $300 but the next time it could be $3,000!!! After multiple failed attempts to speak to someone to resolve the bill, I am finally able to speak to Cindy (who I believe is in charge of the offices finances), and she tells me that there is nothing that they will do and that it's the patient's responsibility! EXCUSE ME!?!? That's why I called in the first place! If it was something that wasn't deemed necessary I would have like to be made aware of any possible alternative options. She was unbelievably rude and clearly only cared about taking as much money from the insurance companies and patients as possible. So therefore I CAN NOT RECOMMEND Dr. Holts practice to anyone until she gets a better office staff (or at least a well-trained one) and there is more transparency between the Doctors and patients. read more

Dr. holt is average. I have had several Drs due to moving multiple times. It was the office staff that I had problems with. Friendly staff but does not know a lot about billing. The office tried to bill me and the insurance which is illegal. I asked them to explain it to me and they just brushed it off and never mentioned it again. The manager they brought was very unprofessional. She was talking rudely to me through the window when there were other patients in the office. She didn't explain anything about my bill and just said I will explain it later. Also I receive a bill from the lab for almost 700 dollars that I was told was less than 100. They are very sketchy about the costs and lie about what they said or didn't say. I ended up switching to another doctor. read more

Dr holt is wonderful. I can't believe a review that says she was upset that her water was broken when she asked her not to and later explained she was already in labor! Smh. dr holt it very busy and I don't know if she is accepting new patients but she is fantastic if you get the chance to work with her. She has a great personality too! Dr. Holt and her staff are amazing!!!! I moved from California and needed to find a new doctor and her name was listed under an article I read and thought I would try her office out. I was a patient of hers for a while before becoming pregnant and the first time my husband met her at our first appointment he also thought she was great. We ended up losing our baby when I was four months pregnant and we couldn't have had a better doctor on our side. She was compassionate, caring, sensitive and sympathetic to what we had just gone through. Every time I talk about our sweet baby boy that we lost I always tell people that I don't know what we would have done without our AMAZING doctor. I had a follow up appointment in her office a week after I was in the hospital and her staff was also great and took me right back so I didn't have to sit in the waiting room and were all just so thoughtful and sweet. You never know what to say to someone after they go through something like this but there gestures said everything and it meant so very much to my husband and me. I would recommend her and her office to anyone looking for a new OB doctor. read more
