Redwood apartments are nice but we'll overpriced. The security guard at the front desk only works…read morepart-time and is unarmed. Maintenance of the elevators has been unacceptable. One elevator just got repaired after being inoperable for a year. There are many irresponsible pet owners who dont pickup their animal waste and the staff at redwood only cleans the apartment building area waste once a day. The result is a horrific rat and rodent infestation problem where rats literally fight in the street and sidewalks in the evening and night. The big rats do not fear cats or small to medium size dogs. The rats also live inside the street poles on the property yet it doesn't seem like redwood is interested in investing in some decon. There's also a serious homelessness problem there where bums, drug addicts, and the mentally ill lay in the middle of the sidewalks. Overall, Redwood is overpriced, the management is very petty, and the cons outweigh the pros. I would not recommend living there.

They have allowed items such as money and jewelry to go missing and when the management office was notified why swept it under the rug. You would think that paying $2100 a month for rent and an additional fee for secure parking that my vehicle wouldn't have been broken into twice. And get this, amazingly the only cars that were broken into were those parked out of view of the security cameras, which kind you only the management office has access to. To add insult to injury, the new young lady in the office failed to report the incident to upper management on both occasions, failed to provide me with what the policy is on what needs to occur such as an incident report, reporting to my auto or renters insurance. She also failed to notify or make note that I would NOT be renewing my lease and they attempted to lock me into another 15 months lease. I feel so unsafe, the feeling of maybe pulling into the secure garage and be robbed or raped or even assaulted. Due to managements inability to keep their good paying residents safe and secure. Your hime is where you should feel safe and I do not. They haven't even notified the other residents in the building that there have been cars broken into and windows busted. Please look elsewhere for comfortable living.. because this is not it.

The company comes out, slaps a bandage on the problem and then leaves to wait for the inevitable call back because guess what?! the elevators broke again! It's like rinse and repeat with this company (Which has become the norm while living here). If you come across these several reviews because you're looking for a new home...PLEASE DON''T COME HERE. Update: It's now been 4 months with only 1 working elevator and today after I got home from work that elevator is broken now as well. I can't tell what's happened but in the last few months it seems like management doesn't care about it's residents anymore and would rather just take our money and not give us much in return. At this point they don't maintain the laundry facilities or communicate with us when things are broken and will require being fixed but they can send out "No Smoking" emails every few weeks. With all the money these apartments are costing hard working people they should at least give us a way to get up and down 11 floors. This is an 11 story building with tenants who sometimes have large packages, bikes and strollers to get around not to mention some of us like myself with bad knees, hips and backs. (Was just told I have arthritis in my spine) that need a working elevator to make it to their apartments If you're currently in the market for an apartment in Mount Vernon I'd say skip this one and look elsewhere! At least then you'll be able to move your furniture in without having to carry it up 11 flights of stairs.

That is why this experience has been especially disappointing. I was unfamiliar with the leasing procedures in a different country, so I made every effort to seek guidance from the leasing office and relied on the information I was given. Instead of receiving clear instructions, I was later held financially responsible for procedural requirements that were never explained to me. I believe residents, especially those who are unfamiliar with the rental system, should be able to rely on the leasing office to provide complete and accurate guidance when they proactively ask for help. Approximately 60 days before my intended move-out date, I notified the leasing office by email that I planned to terminate my lease. Throughout the following weeks, I proactively contacted the office multiple times to ask what steps were required. I wanted to make sure I completed everything correctly. I later obtained and returned the Notice to Vacate form. When I returned it, I specifically asked whether there was anything else I needed to do and was told there were no further steps required. Based on the information provided by the leasing office, I moved out as planned and personally returned all of my keys. Only after moving out was I informed that my lease termination had not been processed because the Notice to Vacate form was not submitted 60 days before my move-out date. At no point was I told that my earlier written notice would not satisfy their process or that the form itself also needed to be submitted on the same timeline. I repeatedly asked the office to identify any lease provision or written policy stating this requirement, but no documentation has been provided. Since then, I have been charged additional rent and utility fees that I dispute. Even more frustrating has been the lack of communication. Despite multiple follow-up emails over several weeks, my specific questions have largely gone unanswered, with responses simply repeating that a 60-day notice is required instead of addressing why these procedural requirements were never explained when I repeatedly asked for guidance. I understand that lease agreements have rules, but residents should also be given clear and accurate instructions when they actively seek assistance. My concern is not the existence of the policy but it's the lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism throughout the process.

Her attention to detail and follow-through made relocating to Baltimore much easier than expected. Anthony has been equally outstanding. When we encountered a maintenance issue with our refrigerator, he was prompt, professional, and ensured the problem was resolved quickly. His dedication to making sure residents are taken care of is truly remarkable. It's clear he takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about the residents' experience. So, I've…read moredecided the best way to communicate all the ways this place screwed me and other residents over is in bullet point. Brittany, Sattie - eat your heart out. - Makes the rent look cheap for the area but with the massive utility fee not worth it. Utilities are supposed to be taken as a percentage of the full bill based on square footage. Which doesn't sound bad until your gone for a summer and are still paying $250 in addition to your $1300 rent. (My apartment was 455 sqft btw) - The building smells at all hours of urine and rotting trash. So much so that flies are attracted to the lobby. This is odd considering there should be maintenance people there all day. - The building consistently has animals urinating in the elevators and the only way it is handled in by sending a less than stern email saying to not let your animals do that followed by a febreez spray to clean the elevator. - Maintenance men overshare an egregious amount about their personal lives while they are in your home. I've heard comments like "Damn, Durran (our old maintenance man) really messed this up now when I take this cap off water is going to spray everywhere." and "Sattie is a very abrasive woman." Always a good sign when the maintenance men complain to you about their boss. - My sink backed up and flooded 5 times in the YEAR AND A HALF that I was a resident. The result was black water with food particles and grease which I had to full up buckets and flush down the toilet just to keep it all at bay while maintenance showed up. Contractors showed up to tell me that I "Needed to scrub good because that was sewer water." When I mentioned this to Sattie she said he was "being dramatic". The water damage was so bad that my downstairs neighbor told me her ceiling tiles fell down and ruined her couch. When I asked Brittany how "(redacted) was doing downstairs with her ceiling?", she replied, "The flood didn't effect anyone else in the building." - Sattie is the most manipulative property manager I have ever met. She not only bullies her residents when they come to her with an issue but speaks to them in the rudest tones and never actually fixes anything. When many of my personal belongings were ruined for the second time because of the sink, I was informed that I would not be reimbursed even though the issue was not my fault. And the insurance company wouldn't reimburse me because it didn't meet my deductible. - I came down with welts on my body from using the pool when the lifeguard stopped maintaining the pool levels. He also asked me "do you mind if I smoke a blunt?" The day later I had welts on my skin and the day after the pool was closed because it had turned green. - The front door of the building was replaced in January and it is open for a hilariously long amount of time in which anyone can follow you into the building. Between January 2025- April 2025 I saw the following: a homeless man sitting in the lobby screaming to himself, multiple nonresidents come inside the building, and was also stalked to my apartment. Do I really have to explain why I don't feel safe as a young woman? - On April 27th 2025 I came home late at night and found a man suspiciously lurking in the lobby. When I went upstairs in the elevator he followed me to my floor and loitered to see which apartment I went to. He then proceeded to ring not just mine but numerous residents' doorbells between the hours of 1am-8am (and yes he came back to ring mine again at 8am). When I called the front desk, I was told he had done this to numerous residents and that Brittany had "asked him to leave" to which I said "have the police been called because I thought I was going to get murdered" to which she said "oh he left before they could get here" No email alert was sent out to the community in response- obvi because it's Brittany and Sattie... - My floor neighbor had a situation where a man followed me again into the building and pounded on my neighbors door using force and body slammed the door multiple times intermittently between the hours of 10am-3pm. I called the police because it sounded like someone was breaking in and then was later questioned by the police. **He indeed break in and the man's dog was absolutely traumatized** You may be asking yourself "why does it seem like so many things go past the front desk? Where are the full time staff" well great question because no one is ever there. And they probably aren't because it smells like piss and trash. Living here for almost 3 months I can say I'm happy with my apartment, and the service I receive here . My apartment was clean and certain aspects of it was brand new which was a nice touch upon moving in. The building has an elevator, laundry, pool, fitness center and optional pay parking which makes life easier. It's also centrally located to restaurants,Museums, downtown, the inner harbor and the monument/ park. The monument is around the corner and is a great place to sit outside or walk the dog. What I like about the building besides the amenities is that it gets involved in the community and sometimes host fun festivities in the lobby for the holidays. 611 also keeps us posted on what's going on around the neighbor which is nice. I'm forever grateful to the staff. Brittany is such a gem and was helpful through the whole process from applying for the apartment to assisting onsite with any questions or concerns since I've been here. The staff including maintenance is usually available during business hours and responds quickly to request. Everything has been easy for me here and I appreciate that being new to town and all. I also want to mention I feel safe inside and outside the building which is often quiet and peaceful at night. I would definitely recommend 611 for the good location, nice apartment with amenities and friendly staff.
