We are EZClean Laundry, a local business and longtime Bank of America customer. As a laundromat, handling and depositing coins is an unavoidable part of our business. Believe me, we dislike dealing with large quantities of coins as much as anyone else, but it is simply part of the nature of our industry and one of the reasons we rely on a business bank. What was most upsetting was not a bank policy or procedure, it was the attitude and manner in which we were treated by the branch manager. Her demeanor made us feel like we were a burden simply for making legitimate business deposits. We made it clear that we have been loyal customers for years and that we expect to be treated with basic courtesy and professionalism. A branch manager, of all people, should understand that business customers have different banking needs and should set the standard for customer service, not make customers feel unwelcome. Running a small business is challenging enough without having to feel uncomfortable at our own bank. This experience was extremely disappointing and has seriously made us question why we continue banking with Bank of America at all. -- EZClean Laundry

The staff here do not know how to service customer needs, let alone problem solving. I usually avoid the in-person if I can do the transaction at the ATM outside or online and only go inside after postponing the visit a few times I think they staff bottom of the barrel associates or new recruits here. - If your tax return check is made to you and your spouse: Some years they accept it, and some years the clerk's eyes start spinning and you can see them twisting into a pretzel, gasping for air before saying its not possible unless both individuals are present and offer two forms of Ids or have a joint account. All this moronic drill for a deposit. not withdrawal! I've found a way around this whole stupidity. Use the front ATM for depositing the joint refund check and not suffer the idiots inside! - I was there today for a 5 mins job of servicing my son's UTMA account as he just turned 18. The staff were uncooperative and sighted they have appointments and come back later. And spent time arguing for over 10 mins and could have helped me during that time. Their staff at the counters are strictly for performing the tasks that an ATM does + issuing cashier check. Nothing else. I turns out they can do one more thing: closing the account (another 5 mins job!), which I was able to do and deposited the proceeds to my son's other account. Guess where?at the front ATM!

I tried to help her myself, but at 6 months pregnant I'm not the most robust physically. I went back into the bank to get more help. When I approached one of the guys working in the bank and asked for his help, he told me that I needed to ask his manager to have permission to walk outside the bank FOR A MINUTE. I went and asked the manager, who was in the middle of a transaction, so I had to wait for her to finish to get her permission --she just came out herself to help. I was pretty appalled that either 1. This bank employee couldn't even take a minute to help an elderly woman up off the ground or 2. A bank manager is SO controlling that an employee walking outside for under 2 minutes would be something she actually feels is appropriate that she needs to approve. Be kind.

i went to Chase Sunnyvale today to do a currency exchange. I had a fair amount of foreign currency…read moreI wanted to exchange so was already a bit reluctant about exchange rate fees/spread losses, expecting Chase to take a bit over 10% to do the transaction. I was helped by Mateo, who patiently went through the process with me, including counting my money multiple times to verify that the amounts were correct (note: the bill counter for US bills will miscount the number of bills so make sure to know how much you have beforehand and ask for a hand count verification), and to process it. He was patient and never made me feel pressured or guilty for taking a long time. Afterwards, I got back home and found out I could get a better rate elsewhere by calling around (this would have saved me hundreds of dollars) and so I immediately called Chase Sunnyvale to see if they could reverse the transaction. The woman who picked up the phone helpfully figured out that they could make it happen as long as I came back ASAP with receipts (before the computer was "logged out"). I quickly drove back and was promptly helped by both the woman who answered my phone call and Mateo. They were professional and courteous even though they spent a lot of time for essentially no net transaction. In short, I came away feeling like they cared about me as a customer and weren't concerned about being inconvenienced. Overall, they saved me from feeling upset about myself for not doing more research on exchange options, and that earned my trust and continued good will. I know not all places and not all people would be so willing to help so thank you Mateo and woman whose name I don't know!
