Delicious gourmet scampi - langoustine tails. And your own vinegar sprayer :-)

Excellent, freshly made dishes. Brilliant service and overall a really nice atmosphere. Good range of starters and mains, wine list was decent too. Some tasty desserts too and importantly superb coffee! Great place!

Catch is a good chippy. It has lots of options and the food is well cooked and decently sized too. However it is significantly more expensive than other chippies, even "premium" chippies. £5.95 for a piece of haddock is too much. £1.95 to add on chips is too much. The new Shawlands venue Salt and Vinegar serves just as good food in just as good a portion size but it's about 25-30% cheaper.

Been here once before and writing this while waiting for my take away. Last time we sat in and ate and we're 6 people so tried a variety of stuff and all was very good. It's a very clean place and has been done up nicely. It doesn't look like the average 'fish and chips takeaway' place. Staff is super nice and explained patiently to someone like me who speaks with an accent from across the pond. Everything is made fresh on order.

Let me preface this by saying that I don't think I would ever come in here for a takeaway, the cook to order approach which is commendable means that the wait time and cost make a visit to something a bit more traditional more likely. That would be if I was eating takeaways just now (#notakeaways2016). After a morning at The Climbing Academy me and my friend needed to get our post exercise scran on and with my friend pretty much banned from having fish in his house we decided to venture to Catch for the very first time. I'd known about this little place in Giffnock for some time but it's a little further off track then I would usually go. It's fair to say that smartened up chippy is the best way to describe the decor and I loved the open plan kitchen designed to emphasise the cook to order philosophy along with the fresh fish proudly on display. As it was lunch time we skipped starters and desserts and just had a main. I plumped for sole goujons and chips with a side of bread and butter whilst there was also some onion rings kicking about because we had just done a workout and felt appropriate to splurge a little. The waft of freshly frying fish was soon filling the air and when it arrived we were happy to see it was good as it looked as well as the portion being more than substantial. The batter on the goujons was light and crisp although perhaps a little bit more of the excess could have been shaken off as the sole got a little lost on a couple of occasions. The chips were most definitely chippy chips, although there was refinement behind these twice cooked versions. The Catch salad accompaniment was nice enough although I'm not really sure what it was doing there whilst the vinegar in the tiny atomiser was a cute touch although if you like your chippy drenched then use the bottle on the table. I enjoyed Catch, I'd go back, everything tasted clean and I enjoyed the transparency of the restaurants lay out and it's cook to order mantra.

    Cullen Skink, delicious!

. It's difficult to give a chippy a five, and in this case I think with a couple of minor niggles a high four seems about right

Adios is housed in the infamously awfully designed St James Retail Park at Hairmyres, East Kilbride…read more(it's painted bright yellow and looks like it belongs in New Mexico given the styling). However don't let that put you off. They do some decently priced lunchtime deals which include a can of Barr's fizzy pop (there are several varieties to choose from) and all of their main meals are reasonably priced too, although certainly not cheap. The food itself is really good, most of the stuff including the fish is cooked fresh to order, so it's not the best place to visit if you really are in a hurry - but the freshly cooked food does mean that the fish is really lovely and the chips are nice and not too greasy either. It's definitely the best chippy I've visited in East Kilbride so far. Yes they do charge for heinz sauce pockets and it is expensive, but you can get the standard chippy red sauce for free! and the brown sauce too!

So this chip shop came highly recommended to me thought I may as well try. That was my first…read moremistake! I ordered over the phone a fish taco and salt and chilli taco. This was on a Tuesday so it was the BOGOF offer. I also ordered a child's fish nugget meal with black currant fruit shoot. This should have came to £11.94 altogether. On picking up the order my husband told me it came to £13.45. I then opened the order and thought my daughters fish nuggets were more like fish cakes as there was no fish inside, inside it what looked like mashed potato in breadcrumbs. They were tasteless and disgusting. The chips were also very greasy leaving the whole meal inedible. We also received an orange fruit shoot instead of black currant (this isn't a big deal but specifically asked for black currant) The tacos were ok however very small portions for the price paid. I really don't like putting on bad reviews as I know how it can affect small businesses so I chose to call them to let them know. I spoke to a female member of staff and asked about the price. She stated that my fish taco was actually £8 and not £6.95 even though it said £6.95 on their own website menu. She apologised for this but didn't not offer a refund at any point as this was their mistake, she just said i5 was getting changed soon (that doesn't help me) so I then mentioned the fish nuggets and how they had no taste of fish at all and were absolutely horrible and my child wouldn't eat them and how the chips were very greasy. This member of staff then to me "IF YOU DONT LIKE IT THEN DONT COME BACK" and "I BET YOU ARE ON OUR LIST OF PEOPLE WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT EVERYTHING" and "YOURE JUST COMPLAINING ABOUT ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER" I couldn't believe what I was hearing as I had been nothing but polite to her. I then asked if she was the manager and she said no. I was even more gobsmacked that a manager would allow their staff to speak to customers in that way. Needless to say I will never be back and I will make it my business to spread the word about this disgusting place! They couldn't even get our name correct on the order
