Steve and Devin are the Cat Groomers you all have been waiting for! No more "Sorry we are mainly a Dog Groomer". Its like taking you felines to the Cat Spa! These guys get it! Meaning from the Customer Service aspect of it they get it! My only hope is that their popularity doesn't get so bad that booking them becomes hard as they gain in popularity! Well worth the drive to Livermore for this tag team duo! The best part is that my babies who hardly take to strangers looked so remarkably behaved in their care which was in itself amazing!!! Its all about trust and till they prove me wrong they have us as a future customer! read more

Fantastic job , compassionate, great with cats hard to find a cat groomer but well worth it by far I'll definitely be taking my kitty babies from here on out read more

You need your cat groomed? Go the Steve and Devin. They are amazing. I've never seen my cat take anything like a bath, dry or claw clipping like this before. They were gentle, and immediately put my cat at ease, and talked me through the whole process. I never doubted them but I did have doubts about my cat's tolerance, and they proved me wrong. Absolutely blown away by their kindness, and how well they take care of our beloved cats. 10 stars if I could. read more

I was contacted right away after inquiring about services for my cat who had some pretty scary matts forming. He's a medium hair and just dang lazy about his grooming! Steve was prompt to contact me and even let me know I could come right away with my Leo (picture for reference ). He was very adamant about that he wouldn't push him too far if Leo started to get uncomfortable or too scared/upset to continue grooming. He even taught me and my husband how to wash/ rinse him in a way that is the more comfortable for cats. When Leo started to get scared during cleaning/drying/brushing he would let Leo have a break in the crate before continuing. Since he had some matts he also taught us the best way to brush him. He did allow some time to bond with just him and Leo while we stepped out but did FaceTime us at the same time so we could see what was going on. I could not give higher praise for Steve! He really knew how to work with Leo and not once did Leo try to bite/scratch him even though he was a little scared (he can be a little spicy at the vet). He also mentioned that he would like to know how he was once he got home so that next time he can adjust how he grooms Leo. It is very clear that he cares for the animals he works with and they are in his best interests! read more

I just took 2 of my long haired cats in for a bath and a good comb out to get rid of mats and undercoats. We had just taken them in to join our family after their owner passed. They hadn't been groomed before and really needed it after living outside for months. The first cat is old and did so well, she even fell asleep during her grooming. Steve did a video chat with me to share her progress and show me that she was snoozing away. She was so relaxed. I highly recommend Steve. The cat whisperer for sure!! So glad that we have a cat groomer here in town now. read more

My cat, Bailey, has long fur and tends to get some matted fur, especially during warmer weather. My vet recommended Catastrophe Cat Grooming as she heard good reviews. This was mine and my cat's first professional grooming experience. Steve let me know what the process would be, in advance, and kept me informed during the service with live video. The video was a real nice experience and I could see that Bailey was in good hands and doing well. I wish I would have had my cat groomed sooner! Thank you to Steve for a great experience. read more

Miss Prissy loved Steve and Devin and so did my mom. Mom was so nervous about taking her 20 yr old cat and she couldn't find anyone to do the work. She found Catastophe and texted me from the place and was so happy--she said... Prissy is relaxing with the "cat whisperers"! She said I can't say enough great things about their service. They are amazing!! We're so excited about people who love on your cats and put their heart into what they are doing. The cats know too! Thank you both! Blessings on all you do! read more

We took Cosmo our lil munchkin cat here for a haircut. Steve greeted me and I didn't expect him to be the cat groomer. Remember guys do not judge a book by its cover. He's the friendliest, cool guy, and animal loving person, cat groomer I've met. He doesn't recommend giving Cosmo a haircut but instead gave him a belly trim and rear trim. I like that he's honest about it. Especially after Steve was done with Cosmo I'm glad it wasn't a full haircut or he'll look like a rat lol! Our cat doesn't have any matting. We give him baths and trim nails once a month. So there's not a whole lot thing to do with him. I made the appointment with them because of the shedding. Steve showed me what shampoo and conditioner they use and I get to watch how they bath Cosmo. He was so calm and didn't try to get away from Steve. Devin was also there assisting. I'm happy with their service and will come back when it's time for Cosmo's trim. read more

A huge thank you to Steven and Devin for taking the Utmost care of my precious fur baby. After reading countless reviews on different groomers I knew Catastrophe Cat Grooming was the place to go! Like why would anyone take their cat to a dog groomer.? Right! I called to make an appointment Steven worked with my schedule and got me in the very next day. When I arrived and met with Steven and Devin I was instantly at ease knowing my kitty was in good hands. They are good hearted, down to earth people with great energy and a love for animals! Steven made my fur baby feel completely comfortable and more relaxed during the entire Full service grooming than I could have ever imagined. He explained everything upfront and even did a video call when I stepped out to go grab a coffee. He is an amazing guy with a great personality. This guy is legitimately upfront and honest. He will have you laughing and even gave a few tips and tricks to help me with home grooming. My kitty looks, feels, and smells amazing! He's definitely one happy cat Thank you again Steven And Devin for an awesome experience! You have earned my complete confidence in what you guys do. See you soon! read more

I was looking for a petgroomer and it seems like it's mainly for dogs or they do not answer as I was going through all the possible groomers for cats I see CATASTROPHE CAT GROOMING !! I said yes that's what it is! (I tried washing my cat myself.. no bueno!) I call and bada bing bada boom a person answers and so upfront and understanding and accommodating I felt complete ease after that. They did a video call to show me how he is being washed and dryed or just to show me that he is doing well and ready for pick up. It's pretty cool service. Thank you to Steve Devin and Lance for taking such good care of my cat read more

I expected a standard grooming brick and mortar but Steve uses the garage attached to his house. Understandable why the price was reasonable without that overhead. Steve was informative discussing his process, products and reasons behind the method. He's into sharing the hands on experience to the pet owner or just having the owner there. Rufus is a rescue and I didn't know if he ever had a bath. He was the standard skittish around new people and new environment but didn't do any hard freak out. read more

Steve and Devin groomed my cat Mike, he's not used to being groomed or bathed so they were very patient with him which I appreciated. I will definitely be bringing Mike back and I hope he gets used to the grooming process. read more

We took our 19 year old cat, Mikey, to Steve and Devin because he's retired from cleaning his own fur and has gotten matted. Despite Mikey being quite rude to them, Steve and Devin were able to get some key mats off that were keeping him from stretching out fully and walking with long strides without tugging his fur. They made sure he stayed warm after the bath with heaters or heated towels. And most importantly, they knew when he needed to take a break from the clipping. They did a great job and we're all (Mikey too) very happy! read more

Very kind cat groomer. He's very professional and does wonders with your kitty. He's the new cat whisperer

Just my second time here, and these guys know how to work with cats. Will return and would recommend to anyone that needs a cat groomer. Their services are diverse, any where from a nail trimming to Sever matting. read more

My Maine Coon mix had some really bad matting and the other groomers I took him to did not have the patience to deal with his attitude. Nor did I. Catastrophe does a great job calming your cat, making the grooming experience far less of a nightmare than it has been at other places and my own bathroom! read more

I booked an appointment with Catastrophe Cat Grooming, received an email and text confirmation of the appointment, drove 45 minutes to Mountain House, CA (NOT Livermore) only to find no one answering the phone or door. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing to make an appointment and the service provider cant even show up to their own house to attend it. If I could give this business 0 stars I would. Shady business overall. read more

So impressed with the service. I watched him shave my cat and it was insane that my cat did not put up a fight. Happy to have found this place. Will definitely be a repeat customer! read more

Steve and his wife (I forgot her name, I do apologize) handled my kitty, Owie, very well. She is a Tortie who gets overstimulated very easily but has an undercoat like a husky...thick as all get out. She also had three small - medium mats near her butt. She won't let me brush her enough to keep those mats away but Steve and his wife got all of those mats off and most of her undercoat off within 2 hours (time for drying and calming down included). Her coat is SUPER soft after getting rid of that undercoat (so nice!). They also handled her trying to hold onto everything just like I would. I highly recommend them if you have a kitty or kitties that need a good brushing but act up at home. And it wasn't expensive at all for everything they did for my kitty and I. I will be returning with Owie and possibly one or two more of my kitties who might need it. They are worth the drive to have someone who will treat your kitty like the royalty that they are. And overall, they are just super cool people. read more

I'm so happy to have found catastrophe! I have a bengal cat which she can have a lot of energy so I was completely shocked as to how well my cat did, she was calm and didn't show any signs of anxiety. I love that he works with the cats and makes them feel safe. I highly recommend!! Especially for cats who are anxious. Another extra touch that I LOVE is how he posts it on Instagram and you can watch live. It's so cute seeing your pet and also reassuring to see how they did rather than just hearing how they did. read more

Best cat grooming ever!!! Only place I trust taking my cat. Very accommodating! So so nice and genuine! I love it here!

Took our very skittish cat to be groomed. Steven and Devin were great with her. Steve is very knowledgeable about cats and the best way to care for them. We will definitely take our cat to Catastrophe to be groomed again. read more

We where there yesterday evening my Baby Love was hot mess so many mats. He has never been groomed so I warned Steve he may not do well with the grooming. Well Baby made a liar out of me Steve was able to calm him, and he got a lot of the mats cut off, we will be going back to finish. Baby is 12years old so we didn't want him stressed out. I will be bringing my other babies in. Devin was also great she was able to get a fox tail out that had vestered, and would have cost me $500.00 at a vet. We finally have someone that loves CATS and takes such good care of them. read more

I had been searching for a good cat groomer for a while. My cat had never been groomed before, had some knots and a bad attitude! Steve spoke to me and told me about his history and he gave me a good vibe. I took my cat in and the experience was wonderful. Steve is a very busy, fast moving man and yet he had a calm energy and was totally comfortable and confident when working with my boy. He explained every step, welcomed me to stay and showed me that his instincts and knowledge were on target. He took his time with Slash, worked to build trust, never lost patience and Slash did well. He will need a few visits to really get at the knots but I'm confident Slash will learn to trust him and feel more comfortable each time he gets groomed. Thanks Steve! read more

I don't often leave reviews but our experience here was just so positive! I brought in my Maine Coon, Hermes, for his first professional grooming and I couldn't believe my eyes when they bathed him and gave him a sanitary trim and Hermes didn't freak out or struggle. Like, at all. They advertise being cat whisperers and I think the moniker well deserved. read more

So I moved to a new apartment and my nine month old cat Gordi climbed into the chimney!!! Hours later we finally got him out but he was covered in ashes, I tried giving him a bath but he would freak out and scream, I finally gave up and decided that it's best for a professional to take care of the issue. It was 3 am and Catastrophe Cat Grooming saved the day. I requested a message and Steve "the owner" reached out to me first thing in the morning! I didn't think that they would take me in as of late notice but he was able to squeeze me in at 5:30 pm I arrived a bit late due to traffic but Steve assured me that it was okay! Great customer service! The bath process of my cat went super smooth and Steve and Devin both showed me how to properly wash my cat in case we go into lock down again! Super helpful not a lot of people would do that but it did help me! Seeing how gentle they are with cats and how my cat didn't fight them and was relaxed and calm blew me out of the water. They groomed, shaved, nail trimmed gordi and he left feeling super relaxed and comfortable! Thank you Steve and Devin for taking care of my cat! I will be back and I hope this helps others find a great cat groomer !! 1 of 1 service read more

We brought my mother's 4 year old cat named Prince who had LOTS of matting & tangles that had got out of control. Steve was very patient & took his time with him that was a lot of work for Steve & we appreciate your efforts very much! Prince knew that Steve was trying to help him & he feels a whole lot better today! Thank you again for taking him in on Christmas eve. I highly recommend Steve he's awesome with cats! read more

Steve is awesome! I have a persian who had matting on his underside in some VERY risky areas (armpits, on the knee, butt of course). Steve was able to shave my kitty's belly to get rid of all the extra fur and bathed him like a champ without harming him. He is definitely extremely experienced in cat grooming and it shows. Plus, he's an awesome guy in general and will make you feel at home while you're with him. One of the things I liked most was that Steve doesn't rush the experience. This was my kitty's first time with a real groomer and he made sure to take a lot of breaks so we didn't traumatize and/or put off my cat from being groomed by him again or in general. It can take a little time but I'm hoping to come regularly and get into the groove of it so it's easier with every visit. Plus, I'm realizing that regular grooming is not optional for certain breeds-- it's necessary! Especially the sanitary trim, anyone who knows, knows! Thank you catastrophe cats you're awesome! read more

Just brought my severely matted cat to Stephen and Devin. I called for an appointment on a Saturday morning and Bruce was seen within one hour of my call. It gets even better: Stephen, with Devin's assist, took two hours to gently remove a particularly difficult matted section. They were incredibly patient and kind working with my senior kitty with neurological challenges. Bruce showed a minimal amount of distress and patiently accepted what was his very first grooming. Stephen would frequently take breaks giving Bruce a respite, but would subsequently return to remove more of the mat. Since this was Bruce's first grooming visit and since he is a senior kitty with challenges, Stephen didn't want to traumatize him too much and thought it would be best to finish the grooming on another day. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate his, and Devin's, very gentle patient nature and willingness to spread the grooming over a few appointments so that Bruce wouldn't become too traumatized. Did I say he did all this while Bruce was wide awake...absolutely no need to anesthetize him for the procedure. Oh, and did I mention that Stephen called later just to check on Bruce to see how he handled his first grooming experience. Honestly, I've never seen a grooming service that is so incredibly patient, kind, and gentle with great follow through! Now I only wish he did dogs too (my dog has been groomed)....I'll guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that he considers it at some point because, if he's this gentle with my cat, I am confident he would be incredibly gentle with my arthritic dog as well. read more

Brought my kitten in for a grooming . Great job just what we needed. Will be back again. Thank you!

I took my 1-year old cat to be groomed by Stephen. This was my cat's first professional grooming. He is extremely shy and generally does not do well with strangers. With Stephen, however, he was extremely comfortable. I was shocked. The entire process went quickly and smoothly. Highly recommend! read more
