The chairs look nice, and I believe the work is good quality. My guess is that this business is a victim of its own success, and that they are accepting more work than they can possibly complete on time. That's why there are reviews that are either very good or very bad. I would use this business again, but I would call every week to be sure I got a timely delivery. And I would be sure there was a delivery date on the estimate/deposit receipt. END OF UPDATE Rebecca has had my two recliners and the Sunbrella fabric I purchased for them since April 10th of this year. She asked for a $1000 deposit, which I gave her in the form of a check. She cashed the check within 20 mins of leaving my house. She said the job would take 6-8 weeks. I contacted Rebecca on May 20 to see if my chairs could be delivered that week, as I had out of town company coming. She said no, but that she could bring them out the next week, to which I agreed. I didn't hear from her again until I emailed her on September 9, asking her to return my chairs by Friday, September 13. Rebecca responded immediately, saying she couldn't bring them on Friday, but would call me on Saturday at 10 a.m. to arrange a delivery. I finally got an email from her at 1 p.m., saying she didn't have the chairs done due to several problems out of her control the previous Wednesday. She gave me no delivery date or reason she didn't let me know earlier in the week about the "unforeseen issues". I responded with a terse email asking to bring all the pieces of my chairs and my fabric-now. She has not responded. This business (which in essence is Rebecca, has very poor communication. I imagine that if I hadn't emailed her this past week, I might never have heard from her. Her customer service is non-existent. I cannot comment on Rebecca's work, because I haven't seen it. If I ever do get my chairs back, I'll update this review. I definitely do not recommend this business.

After you stained it you jammed an ornate hook into the key hole and put the old hardware back on. It left imprints into the wood. You can see it now after I had to have someone else put the new hardware on. The stain is beautiful but you didn't listen to what I said. The first thing you did when I came was check the envelope for the cash without an apology. And if you try to say you have no record of me, I have the receipt and the pic of the desk in my house. Makes me sick to my stomach when I think if it.

Room and Board had beautiful versions of what I wanted, but came at a steep 3K price, entry level... so I thought, lets make a labor of love and build our own. We found the obscure location, and I immediately loved it. WOOD! I found the owner, and we walked and talked through the stock for over an hour. He described the process in which the wood was collected, how it was cut, dried, and eventually came to the store. We got a history lesson on the whole thing. The service could not have been better.

The tree removal company wanted to deliver the logs at the end of the day. Bruce the co-owner told me something could be arranged, but then Erika told me the logs would have to be delivered by 3PM. Then there was the deposit. Initially, I was told I would pay $200 in their application. Then Erika sent me a text saying I needed to pay $300, then when I spoke on the phone with her she said I would need to pay half the full cost, which was $500. I had no problem paying half, but it felt shady that the price kept changing. When I brought up how the price changed, Erika told me it was because I changed my mind on having them create the entire table. I reminded her that I was only getting the table top done because she said she didn't have a carpenter that could create a wood base for the table so I would have to go with a heavy iron base they provide that I didn't want and pay $5000 for the privilege. She then told me quite rudely to take my business elsewhere. Mind you, the logs have been cut down and are sitting with tree guys. Not to mention, I'm in Hawaii on vacation with a child and wife who have tested positive for Covid. Erika did not care. She was rude and mean, didn't care one bit about my business or my predicament. Bottomline, Horigan doesn't have much competition in Northern Chicago so they treat customers like crap. I warn anyone considering them to take their business to Southern Chicago mills like Nicholson where they understand customer service and don't have anti-social personalities abusing customers.

The Guitar/Pad is from the 1990's and was completely falling apart. Previously I searched on the internet for one of these and found they can cost as much as $300 to replace. Not an option! So I took it over to show it to Val with not much hope for a solution, but once she looked at it she came up with a great idea of simply sewing on an new piece of black vinyl right over the deteriorated vinyl,...... problem solved!!! And, on top of that she said she'd most likely have for me by tomorrow, that's "super service", something you don't regularly see anymore.
