Their pricing was on par, but their quality, attention to detail, and customer care seemed much better. I won't bother competing the work next time, I will just go directly to owner/operator Paul Cutler. The front yard is next and we will be using Cutler Landscaping again.

The architect produced some drawings which required minor adjustments, which were done fairly quickly. When I originally contracted with them, I gave him my budget that we wanted to stay within. Once I got the drawings we found the budget estimate it was approximately double what I told them. About that time the architect engineer quit/resigned/or was let go and the responsibilities to my project were transferred to the owners son Tyler. Tyler seemed like a decent guy, but he depended on inside design work which took time and usually the changes were not what we asked for and we're in violation of issues which I brought up. I asked for some re-pricing and rework which didn't happen and my phone calls were not returned. Eventually we obtained had pricing from two other local companies for the same work. We increased our budget and found we were willing to pay more but Garden Gate Landscaping abandoned us with very little correspondence. Even though their final pricing was comparable to my other quotes, I would not trust them to initiate and complete the job in a timely manner. It was not a good experience. The contractor we used named Tucson Professional Landscaping performed a superior job in a very timely manner. I would not recommend Garden Gate.

Though not the lowest price they gave us the confidence they knew what they were doing and wouldn't just aimlessly cut branches, instead they considered the health of the trees and how to thin them while still providing shade coverage. Josh and Lacy also gave us tips on maintaining them and other plants in our yard. This time, we had just bought a new home and there was a large tree in the side yard that we wanted to take out as it was to close to the house and the wall, besides looking like it was dying. Their quote was inline with others, and we already knew the quality of their work so it was a no brainer in selecting them again. In both cases, they cleaned up so well, we feel the yard was probably cleaner than when they started. We have no problem recommending them not just for the work they do but for their advice as well.

I had two separate landscape companies do my front and back yard (I have a larger lot size). Worked fine for a few months, then didn't. Called a different company and he was quoting me like $3000 and said all the pump work had to be redone and wasn't done correctly by the landscaping company, who is a very reputable firm. Robert came out and asked my issues and fixed it on the spot for a very reasonable price. He didn't call the other company a liar (I would), but kind of rolled his eyes at what the other company said to me. I've had Robert come out a few more times since and last visit was Ryan, who was also great. I refer them to anyone that needs irrigation work.

Just had a neighbor use this guy Danny and crew on their landscaping maintenance in a small…read moresubdivision and the hidden things many don't see is when they trim the trees people assume the debris is hauled to the landfill, but not this bunch, they just dump the debris out of sight on someone else's property and let them deal with it. Had them do this behind my house last week so I called the property management company taking care of the subdivision and they in turn had the owner Danny of D&J call me and after telling him what his crew did he ordered me like some bum employee of his to go out and take pics, kinda felt like he didn't feel like dealing with it at all then to add insult to a already pissed landscape dump victim he asked is the vegetation green or brown and I was even more aggravated at the innuendo of it not from his crew. So after initiating a response from my efforts of taking pics as ordered he says he'll take care of it, but several days pass and nothing so I tell him I've got a tree quote I need for removal, and lo and behold now he's interested. So finally today Tue. with no considerate heads up that he's coming over he shows up, but not with a truck and trailer to pick up his illegal dump debris but for more tree cut money to then go dump off on some other victim. The attitude on this guy, when I got on him about his dump and run to say I was being a wise guy, he's lucky I didn't call the sheriff and report his wildcat dump job, which still may happen if he blows off picking up his huge trimming mess. Oh and when I told him to forget the tree job because I didn't want some other unsuspecting neighbor getting a dump and run job with my tree debris he just started skulking back to his truck to leave. Great business model Danny, I'll be sure and advise future neighbors about this wildcat dump job then poor to none follow up, which should have been top priority the day you were caught doing the deed

They loaded everything they clipped into their trailer. And then they pulled their vehicles forward and raked our chip-and-seal driveway, making sure they picked up any debris that had fallen out. My husband and I were absolutely delighted. Oh, and I should mention that their rate was very reasonable. Not only would we highly recommend this company, we've already booked them to come back in the fall!
